Your video has inspired me to buy a drone and get my 7 year old autistic son into the hobby. I was shocked at how quickly he grasped it. We've now moved up to slightly better (still cheap) drones 4 times. The latest just arrived today. The 3 previous drones each need a part or two so im thinking of making a Frankenstein one out of them. Thanks for sharing and inspiring.

I remember when the Mavic air 2 was released, of which you got a lot of value for its cost. That is, a drone which allows you to film in 4k 60 frame, have a 12meg camera, good battery time, good fly distance, avoid system, and some other feature. All at the price of $890-$1300(Combo)
And today you can buy the combo kit for 500$, which is significantly lower price than Mini 3 while at the same time offer about the same spec. :D

I did that exact thing 3 years ago to a MJX Bugs 2 and a Bugs 3 it's very easy to do but hard to make as stable as a real accro quad unless you swap out the stock motors for more powerful ones with higher kv but it will work. i even kept the stock bugs esc's and ran 4S lipo on it with stock 1806 motors with low kv and put normal 5in acro props on it. got plenty of videos on it.
Yes, the standard motors and props really have a hard time keeping up.

Ahh I was hoping with the custom circuit board print you would port the gimbal functionality which saying it I realize isn't going to work in a fpv flight but also the gps RTH and the other fancy features from dji to a FPV flight mode. I guess next is just stuff the avata guts inside the mavic and then you have 1 directional gimbal for in flight angle adjustment.

My camera and gimble got trashed so I pulled it apart pulled out the camera and gimble mounted my GoPro avd now won't take off lol I had no clue there was sensors in the camera for its flight check list anyway I can go around this
Ive been so close to pulling the trigger on a mavic 3 for parts and using it for a LR fpv build, mainly for longer flight time and greater range due to no carbon fiber. Could you speculate on that idea please?
Speculate? Absolutely! It doesn't seem worthwhile to buy one for parts because even broken ones can be surprisingly expensive on ebay, and I don't think the frame would be more advantageous than a carbon fiber frame. Really, DJI drones are pretty much ideal for long range, just not for the FPV aspect of it.

So you made an Air2 into a sub-par FPV quad? I'm not terribly impressed. If you had pulled this off maintaining all of the stabilization features and gimbal... That would be noteworthy. Hell, I can take a chunk of a rotten pallet and make it fly. Where do you think the term deadcat came from?

Pretty cool, and thanks for the video, but I would only destroy my air 2S if I could still use the gimbal and camera on the drone. And RTH, and everything that makes a mavic a mavic. This is cool, but it's essentially an fpv drone with bad handling and a frame that couldn't take a crash. Awesome video though man! I love shit like this! Makes me wonder though, what would it take to do this and keep all the good stuff!?!?

Hi, I was wondering which screwdriver do you use?
What happens if you use 3 blade props on that
@ 48 seconds, that bottom face plate......I can't remove it because one of the screws isn't done correctly (China's great quality) and there is no hex hole to put in a screwdriver. Any ideas how to get it off? I dunked my drone under water for 3-5 seconds only but after 5-days drying in desiccant it still wont start up. I need to take it apart so i can clean it out and see if it will start.
