Really cool that with this world the devs realized that water levels don’t necessarily mean a level full of water but just a level that can utilize water in creative ways. It made for overall very interesting levels and one of the rare times I don’t scuff at arriving to a "water world". Really love this in depth analysis of this childhood classic. Exited for more !
For whatever reason, I remember loving World 3 - Tower a lot as a kid and playing it several times just for fun. Also, the beach music in this game is one of the most energetic beach themes in the Mario series. It's so good.
It's interesting to look at the enemies from this game that never made it to another Mario game, like those pumpkin enemies. (Unless you count the pumpkin goombas from Galaxy)
the new enemies in this game r so weird to me. they look like they should b in mario 64 or smt but theyre in a 2d mario game, like the charging guys in the ice levels or the punching boos
Ah yes the Beach World, a world that somehow turned water levels fun for a bit, always got a kick out of this one. And as for 3 - 2, I remember that level being one of the hardest in the entire game with the moving platforms and it being difficult to speed run through. Great Video Zike, can't wait for the next one.
Surprised it took so little for the next episode to come. NSMB is my childhood game, so I love watching through these videos. Also, I ate my dinner to this.
I'm seeing a big youtuber in the making. These analysis videos are very well done and interesting. Can't wait to see the rest of this series, especially the next one!
Small correction for 3-c when you said you have to jump into the water and navigate out for the star coin you make it harder by not wall jumping up. Those Bridge platforms can be jumped through and makes that star coin very easy to nab.
Fantastic series! I remember this game vividly as one of the first I ever completed 100% when I was a kid, because exploring and finding rhe secrets in the levels is just so much fun.
I just re-bought this game after 7 years and I found your channel and this series at the same time! Now watching along as I play the game, and really enjoying it 😊
I think, if youre on the ground in a water level, bloopers will never actually descend low enough to hit you, making it easier to find an opening Im pretty sure theyve been like this since the original nes game too, but i never realized because of how anxiety inducing they are
I appreciate how you’re covering a memorable game from the dev’s perspective and also touching on the positives and negatives. Looking forward to your opinion on world 8-2.
I noticed you were calling Amps, "Zaps". Is this a fun nickname you gave them? lol Also I just realized that the climbing Koopa Troopas in World 3 - Tower are 3D models, while normal Koopa Troopas are just 2D sprites! It makes sense why they did this, but it's still interesting!
Instead of writing yet another comment, I'll just leave a reply on this one, lol. Don't know if it was intentional, but Splunkins bear a resemblance to Galoombas. They are like Goombas, but lack bodies and have green feet! I'd love to see them return some day.
Since a lot of my thoughts in the video are stream of consciousness (as I'm writing the script) I tend to just call 'em whatever first comes to mind haha
man i love this series and this game so it’s cool to see new content about it keep up the good work! also i love the thumbnails for this series idk why but the world icons in this game are so cool to me
I feel like with the random pipe in 3-3, they should’ve made the ride of pipes alternating colors then have a red pipe thrown in there or something, and in the ghost house maybe put a broozer?
It's here already! Wasn't expecting this so soon after world 2. World 3 had surprisingly few actual water levels considering the fact that it was the beach world. Interesting choice by the Devs (not complaining though!) One thing about 3-A that has always annoyed me is the fact that the mini pipe spits you out on the other side of the raised platform, which you needed to be able to get on top of in order to reach the sub room with the star coin (which requires you to be mini in order to reach it, meaning you'll probably miss that star coin on your first playthrough of the level no matter what)
I legit never found the world 3 cannon until a friend searched on internet, and also fun fact, if you go completely to the right of the level before using it you have a blue item box, which is considering that blue koopa shell are unavailable in toad house the only quick and reliable way to gain one, and also you can take the cannon while being in star
20:35 this method seems a lot easier than what i did, you can barely make the star coin with a perfectly timed triple jump without having to backtrack. didnt realise you could backtrack before now haha
I love these videos, i know this is an ungodly unpopular opinion and i'll get tons of haters but NSMB DS is my favorite 2D Mario game mainly due to it's level design and it'a great to see someone who recognises that instead of hating the game just because it is infamous
Actually, I agree with you! I love Mario World and Mario Bros 3, but I've always had a slight preference for Nsmb DS due to having more well rounded and consistently great level design in my opinion.
@@demetriuskafkoulas5005 Sure, SMB3 has great levels and alot of variety but most of the levels are really short and beatable in about 1-2 minutes, SMW has a ton of cool secrets but most of the levels are lackluster in theming (like there are 2 grass worlds, 2 cave worlds and even the mountain world doesn't feel very unique), while NSMB DS seems to balance everything and have creative and varied levels with interesting secrers and decent length
Tbh if this game had names for the Levels it would be even better World 3: Shiny Peninsula 3-1: Cheep Cheeps' Family Reunion 3-2: Funny Fungui 3-Tower: Fancy Fences Towers 3-3: Blooper Blues 3-Ghost House: Haunted Villa 3-Castle: Crush and Relax Castle 3-A: Bomb Bait 3-B: Pipe Shape 3-C: Fishes' Revenge
I have been watching since June Zoom. I also remember watching your Amagii Brilliant Park video. It’s one of my favorites. Also love the Zikecast! Interesting topics. Have you thought to upload them to RUclips for a different format? I also think the mecha levels in SA2 are a bit underrated imo Stay cool!
So is there any reason you refer to the ? switches as P switches? Because you refer to the ! switches independantly it feels weird that it's not the case for the ? switches. Since ? switches always effect the level, P switches spawn coins and ! switches create red blocks I just feel like it would make more sense to refer to them as ? switches to prevent any confusion. Besides that, thanks for another good Zikedown! Always loved World 3 and it feels nice to see someone hate bloopers as much as I do.
This is one thing that's annoyed me a little about the Mario series. It's always grass for world 1 and then desert for World 2 and then water for world 3. That is the case in Super Mario Bros 3, obviously the case in this game New Super Mario Bros, and I'd have to look back at my own playlist of new Super Mario Bros Wii footage from 2009 to verify if that was the case with that game as well, I can't say anything about new Super Mario Bros 2 because I never played that game, and while you can choose to take on the ice world before or instead of the water World in New Super Mario Bros you, clearly by the indication of the world number for the ice world that's supposed to come forth and the water world comes third if you do it in the original order. I mean geez Nintendo doesn't always have to be grass, desert, and water every time?
I've been informed that at 9:59 you can just go through the top platform by wall-jumping up and my childhood has now been shattered
Yup even throught it's not evident, it is possible
poor zike. broken childhoods aint fun.
Apologies for shattering your childhood. I hope we can repent for our sins.
not our problem

We all are

Great Video Zike, can't wait for the next one.
world 3 is out already?? lets gooooooo
Wow, already?
I've been loving this series so far, especially since this is the only NSMB game I never played.
You've slowly but surely made me fall in love with NSMB as if I'm a kid playing it for the first time again
I love this series, it’s so nostalgic. My favorite childhood game is being reviewed in so much detail. I’ve learnt so many things I didn’t even know.
Surprised it took so little for the next episode to come. NSMB is my childhood game, so I love watching through these videos. Also, I ate my dinner to this.
• _"Zappy enemies"_ in 3 - Tower are called *Amps*
• The yellow blocks that fall down when stepped on are called *donut blocks*
Wow I wasn't expecting this video so soon. Had nothing to watch at the moment so your timing was perfect. Thanks for the upload Z
What in the-
Uh, I mean...
Wow, didn't expect the next episode to release so soon.
Nice!
I'm seeing a big youtuber in the making. These analysis videos are very well done and interesting. Can't wait to see the rest of this series, especially the next one!
Me everytime ZoomZike uploads a new video:
"That's-a-so nice! :D"
WTF? I was not expecting a video on World 3 so soon after your last upload, but Im not complaining. Let's Go!!!!!
I didn't expect to enjoy a series about a game I played years and years ago but here I am getting excited with every upload
Thank you so much for making this. This is one of my all time favourite games from my childhood.
I adore how enthusiastic you get about every little detail. It's so nice to watch
I love using the mini mushroom in this world for the tower just because I like seeing the mini Mario flying up in the air after using the Canon pipe
Absolutely loving these videos!!
Small correction for 3-c when you said you have to jump into the water and navigate out for the star coin you make it harder by not wall jumping up. Those Bridge platforms can be jumped through and makes that star coin very easy to nab.
You have shattered my childhood
Fantastic series! I remember this game vividly as one of the first I ever completed 100% when I was a kid, because exploring and finding rhe secrets in the levels is just so much fun.
I love these! Thanks for providing your insight on what makes these levels fun and how the devs designed them.
Wow, I was just watching the Mario Party 3 video, what a coincidence that you happened to upload! Great content as usual, keep it up
shoutouts to you for putting it in the correct resolution. Makes it a treat to watch on an iPad.
I just re-bought this game after 7 years and I found your channel and this series at the same time! Now watching along as I play the game, and really enjoying it 😊

18:20 there's also a random power up block at this cannon, so you can get a free blue shell
I appreciate how you’re covering a memorable game from the dev’s perspective and also touching on the positives and negatives. Looking forward to your opinion on world 8-2.
I really like the boss for this world :O!! Also, your joy out of no autoscrollers is so fun to hear. Absolutely gonna keep tuning in ^^
I’ve always liked 3-Castle
I don’t know why
I just like it
Keep them coming! I saw you uploaded world 4 so I’m catching up with this one first! Loving the content.
I like how this explain the level design the creators made. I also like his transitions are different for every world, nice detail.
I noticed you were calling Amps, "Zaps". Is this a fun nickname you gave them? lol

This series is so good that whenever I watch an episode, I can't help but pull out my DS and play the game alongside it.
man i love this series and this game so it’s cool to see new content about it keep up the good work! also i love the thumbnails for this series idk why but the world icons in this game are so cool to me
I love how this is like a combination of review and walkthrough
Oh whoa I didn't think this would come out so soon! I need to subscribe man I like keeping up with this series and Identifying Luck!!
Quick release compared to last time! Very cool
Glad you’re uploading way more frequently now again.
For some reason, Koopa Troopas in this game are rendered with crusty sprites, but they made the fence crawlers 3D, so that shook me up.
i was not expecting this vid so fast, good shit!
These videos are so perfect. I love these deep dives into niche topics
That'sa so nice? I've always heard "Thank you tonight". This makes so much sense
Wow World 3 already? That was fast! You must have been working on this one before uploading World 2. AWESOME, LEEEEET'S GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
18:30 worth noting the free item block in this cannon area!
I came back to this cannon level all the time to get it. It's essentially the equivalent of Top Secret Area from SMW.
These overview videos are so fun to watch!
Wow this is very interesting, I thank a lot this got in my recommended... I will now start to watch the other ones, awesome content dude!
0:08 did that blooper family get a super star
Can't wait for world 4. Keep up the good work!
lets gooo i’ve been waiting for the new video!
9:53 you can walljump up through the wooden log bridge.
Great analysis! Can’t wait for World 4!
poggers, keep the zikedown goin :)
edit: defs gonna use "bloopy fate" at somepoint
The music is honestly really underrated, the beach theme just feels so nice.....
This dude has the most relaxing voice like hell yeah man tell me about the Mario series
Easily one of my favorite Mario titles so this is such a welcomed series ♥️
Dude, I wasn't expecting another Zikedown this quickly, but I'm not complaining in the slightest!
I love this series so much!!!!!!! I played this game soooo many times .. I want to be a kid again q_q now I'm 29, soon 30 ....
Can't wait for the 4 hour long compilation of this series. Are you going to do Wii next? If so, I'm all in!
Yay I love the overly detailled breakdown videos!
I feel like with the random pipe in 3-3, they should’ve made the ride of pipes alternating colors then have a red pipe thrown in there or something, and in the ghost house maybe put a broozer?
I think these videos help me why I loved my first game I ever owned... thanks
The wording in this video is immaculate, did you take media studies or other related subjects in school?
Nah, I just analyze stuff in my head a lot haha
I enjoy this series, keep it up!
this series is really cool!
The SPEED of this man and his second to none analysis
It's here already! Wasn't expecting this so soon after world 2.

This is a creative series. I LOVE IT
This series is great!
Also, have you thought about making a prediction video for the Mario Kart 8 Booster Course Pass?
Wow, two videos in a row, you're spoiling us, kind sir.
Wow the gap from 1-2 was much longer than 2-3 heck yeah
Hearing the bonus music for 2 seconds before you immediately leave was hilarious

@@MetaKaios the NSMB games have a very negative reception by most Mario fans, and are generally considered to be the worst games in the series

3-Ghost House: Haunted Villa
3-Castle: Crush and Relax Castle
3-A: Bomb Bait
3-B: Pipe Shape
3-C: Fishes' Revenge
Great video I’m subscribing
I’ve been waiting for this
Do you think you'll cover the rest of the NSMB games and their world's in the future?
I laughed for some reason when you said: "This first door leads us to a dead end with one block granting a power-up and the other granting a.. Boo?"
Hell yeah! 2 episodes in quick succession!
Two videos in the same week?? Who are you and what have you done to zoomzike??
Crazy Idea here but I would love your take and maybe do a Zikedown about Mario Kart Tracks in the distant future?
6:25 this actually took me a while, youre right
I’m a big beach guy, so I’m glad this world hits the spot.
I have been watching since June Zoom. I also remember watching your Amagii Brilliant Park video. It’s one of my favorites. Also love the Zikecast! Interesting topics. Have you thought to upload them to RUclips for a different format?

god i love this series
This video came out at such a perfect time for me, my burrito just got here
This series is a so nice!!
World 3 so soon? LETS GOOOOO
*gets a zoomzike notif*
FUCKING HELL YEAH DUDE
You: I can't believe they designed a level filled with Warp Pipes, that's so mean!
SMB3 Pipe World: Am I a joke to you?
