      I was so going to edit those issues out. And when I say there was more (there was MORE) but my computer was running out of RAM while editing this 1080p video. My computer is 10 years old now (imac27 mid 2010 model). Need about 100,000 more youtube subscribers and I might be able to afford a new computer.. lol

    Next time I go into the music shop for new wires for my husbands guitar, I'll grab some extra for a cutter. And the keys that tighten the wires are sold there too. Just brilliant!

    You are just god sent! I recently searched everywhere possible to learn how to make this!!! Thank you thank you thank you! If possible can u explain with a drawing or something as to how to make a 'cheese slicer' type of a soap cutter. Pleasee

      Your welcome. I have never made a cutter. Infact I purchased my soap cutter on Etsy. I will put it on my todo list and if I have a chance to try one I will.

I was just looking at these online because I'm at the point of really needing one but they are too expensive for me at the moment. I'm going to test out my carpentry skills though because it isn't my area lol but I think I can manage it. Thanks again for this!

      True I am neither a Carpenter my dad is let’s see if he can watch Dean method & make one for me its true very expensive on Amazon Etsy Ebay even from China not cheap at all - I remember Dead said almost US$20 or US$25 to make the whole project it’s unbelievable

    I made one of this myself a few months ago, my design its a little bit different but essentially does the same thing and its a life saver. I have to modify it for different cuts but works great. I love your design tho 😍😍

    Hi Dean, this is an older video but it’s exactly what I was needing to see. By chance, is there another name the sinker goes by? I can’t find anything that looks like that but that name.

    Hey Dean, I like that you showed us how to make a splitter! Much cheaper then on line. When your talking centimeter, what is that in inches for us in the states lol? I guess I should know that, but don't lol 🤔🤨. Good job though, as long as it does what it's supposed to do, that's what counts. Have a good day. 😊

      50cm = 19.685 inch

    Just wondering Dean is that a fishing sinker? Can you please help me out by telling me what size to ask for? ( I know nothing about fishing tackle) Thanks again!

      It is a fishing sinker but a big of wood dowl will do the same thing. I dont know the size of the sinker, im using wood for that part now.

      I would not even know where to start.. lol.. Personally I purchase my single bar cutter from Etsy. I like making my own stuff but there has to be a point where I say "i just cant do that". So sorry

      Yes, the new ones I make for soap makers have a resin level ladder on each side, they start at 2.5cm and go up 1cm until 8.5cm.

    What are the 2 small pieces made of ? that you put on the both sides. Please ket me know

      I make them from resin. They are are to hold the wire in place at a specific level you wish your soap cut at.

    Would that work with fancy decorative tops on soap loaves? Knowing me I would mess them up lol btw how wide is in between the 2 pieces of wood that are parallel ? love your videos !!

      I currently only make flat top soap so I dont know the answer to that but at long as it fit in the gap between the wood it should be fine.

    Can you tell me please . You said in the video that you used 50 cm long for the bottom but you did not mention the wide how long is it? and the thick how much thick. Can you help me . I want to try to make one and I want to know what sizes the wood to order?

      This one was 50cm long, 18cm wide, 19mm thick. The bits on top are 15cm long, 9cm wide and 19mm thick.

      By the way in the video if I am not wrong you said the wire is 13 and 18 and you told me 23
      I am confused which one to buy for the splitter that I want to try to make at home. Thanks

      The guitar string is PLO13 or LO014. I dont suggest any higher then 18 because it will not bend 90 degree around the edges where needed.

    Dean where did you get the resin blocks, or did you make them?

      I wish I had filmed it, but I made up 50 grams of resin and pour into a single soap mold (1 of the 6 cavity molds). Then cut it in half with my jewellers saw.

      Its really just for CP as the wire would break for M&P base.

      oh no, sorry, only to Australia due to customs not accepting non treated wood.
      Also the box size would cost 2 times the item im sending, so you would be up for $300 dollars.

      There is too much detail for me to write down. But if you follow the video and drop some notes down im sure that will work for you. You might want to build it differently then what I made as its a very basic design.

      Hi, Sorry, I only made it for 1 lady. It took about 1 week in total to make. I also live in a small unit complex and my neighbours complained about the noise. So I cant do that again.

      What are the things we should add into while we preparing lye for soap making?

      I wait until my lye has cooled then I prep my oils and butters. Your need to get the amount of fragrance oil and dyes/mica.
