Honestly, the only characters I liked were Charlotte and Shwaz. Charlotte was smart, brave, and sassy which they just cast aside by making the MCs ignore or make fun of what she says. Schwaz was also a pretty cool and funny character too. Henry just dating around every time a girl breathed next to him as well as Captain Man's annoying ego was just insufferable to me.

Even as a kid I always wondered why Piper was so angry, why Charlotte was never taken as superhero potential and even why Jasper was hated by everyone when the kid had a heart of gold. I was always slightly annoyed every time Piper was on screen but looking back, I just shake my head at how much time was wasted with the “angry little sister trope” when they could’ve been using that time to build Piper and Henry’s sibling relationship. Especially when EVENTUALLY Piper finds out Henry is Kid Danger. Idk if their relationship ever improves at any point cus I kinda stopped watching around the time Piper found out. But it could’ve been nice to see Henry and Piper have wholesome moments before Piper found out. And then there’s Charlotte. Charlotte who has proven to be smarter than the whole OG Danger Crew combined multiple times was always sidelined when it came to fighting crime and was even laughed at. And the one time she was brought along was mostly a joke mission (she still did her thing tho). And when she gained powers for that one episode, she turned into a villain. I was still hyped as a kid cus Charlotte was getting her moment…..but it was as a Villian- It doesn’t make it better Thant they teased Henry and Charlotte to heck and back only to not deliver but honestly, Charlotte deserves way better than Henry. At the time I’m writing this, I haven’t finished the video so I’m not sure if Jasper is talked about. But I’m gonna talk about him anyway. Even as a kid I HATED the way everyone treated him like he was dead weight or a moron. And looking back, I can’t remember a time he got a moment to really shine as both a friend and as a member of the Danger crew. It doesn’t help that he didn’t even figure about Henry on his own. Maybe he did have a few shining moments in the show, but my memory is foggy both cus I haven’t watched the show it a while and because my memory is full of times where even his friends would lowkey bully Jasper. (And I think he was more in the plus size side of things so that makes it worse-) There were so many times where I just wanted Jasper (and Charlotte cus there were times where Jasper disregarded her) to just snap.
Omg I loved and still love Jasper sm, but a lot of kids like him get ignored at my school either because they're too quiet or 'weird' and 'sensitive' (they get considered sensitive because they get upset when kids tell them to kill themselves-). I think the weird/bad writing is mostly because Dan Schneider was the one that directed it. I always felt uncomfortable as a kid every time I saw Ray get so close to a woman but I never thought too much of it. Then I started getting on the internet more and realized how creepy it really was after rewatching the show, especially Dan Schneider.

I was lucky I grew up watching things that shown a light on eating disorders and how to love yourself so when I started getting the comments of "your so skinny you might fly away" or "you look like a pile of bones" I was able to keep going without thinking about it to much but even now anytime I walk past a mirror I check to see if I got any bigger or I'll have an extra plate to quote "put some more meat on my bones"

I would also argue they had some weird obsession with younger characters getting with older characters, like for some reason they really like the idea of a middle schooler trying to date a high schooler or someone older (it's pretty common in Henry Danger and Game shakers)
In Dan’s case he had a particular hatred of Asians, African Americans, and homeless people. He also liked to make fun of abuse and they literally cracked jokes about a stuntman they badly injured (broke his ribs) cuz of their negligence. Also, he just generally was a huge liar and his shows had a staff who liked kids too much on the show as well. They ended up getting convicted too. Also, pressured children to drink alcohol, do things they were uncomfortable with like kissing multiple times, and had a really bad temper.
Honestly, fatphobia is why I stay away from sitcoms altogether. It's like writers literally can't help themselves. So now I literally don't get any sitcom jokes cause it's like...it's not worth the headache.

I was about 7 years old when henry danger came out and i never really liked it.. every episode was them fighting these corny villains and the same corny jokes and them using jasper as a punching bag. And Jace Norman CAN NOT ACT AT ALL. Piper should of been the main character because she actually spends time with her family.. Henry can't have 2 hours with his family and thats a big problem. Most of the times it came on I just turned the Tv channel to disney to watch kc undercover or cartoon network on demand 💀

This is off topic but if/when you're discussing transphobia, if it's a scene that directly makes fun of transwomen/feminine presenting AMAB people (i.e. men in dress jokes, a good example is the Miss Nancy scene in the first episode of Drake and Josh.) I would advise using the term transmisogyny. It talks more about the issue at hand, since a lot of transphobic jokes make fun of transwomen specifically and transphobia on its own can be vague. This is just my own perspective as a trans person (Transmisogyny is the intersection of transphobia and misogyny)

I don't watch super hero movies, but I think it's ironic that Hollywood is still targeting them at men. Marvel comics are very girl power/trans-friendly/LGBTQ+ inclusive/Multiracial. Most of the artists don't do hyper-sexy muscular bodies with boobacious bodysuits anymore. Starting to see more diverse body types in new characters. Haven't read DC in over 10 years, but I hear they're doing the same. MRAs are screaming mad that they're no longer pandered to exclucively & are trying very hard to get Marvel & DC comics to fail, telling everyone to buy shounen manga instead.

I remember seeing Sharona on screen and it just wasn't a good joke. I didn't even register her body as being a joke and was genuinely confused by the laugh track when she was on screen
What's worse is that scene from Not Another Teen Movie was inspired by She's All That (1999) where the glasses scene is played completely straight. That movie is a guilty pleasure of mine, but the idea Rachael Leigh Cook was unattractive was laughable AF.
sharona reminds me of gladys from bunk'd(which is a mess on its own). she is not fat but she'sconventionally unattractive so of course they have to make her an awful person. a big part of her character is her trying to find a partner and the joke is she's unloveable and ugly. she doesn't shave and she's often called a man because of that(which is wrong on so many levels)
omg bunkd does gladys SO NASTY. it's part of the reason why i could not watch the show cause i hated how rude the kids were to here. like one of them even said something to her along the lines of "nobody want you" and UGH. and i see that bunk'd is transphobic too with the way they treat her. this is so awful.

I feel like with the show the characters except for Ray got better with more time, they had time develope outside of stereotypes except for Ray. Ray kinda just stayed as the rude obnoxious jack a-...fruit who didn't really care about anyone outside of himself. This is why I find danger force a better show than Henry danger which isn't an opinion I've had for awhile. Danger force actually calls out its characters, which is nice.
TBH, I'm kinda glad they didn't because it's such a relief to see two best friends of the opposite gender to just remain as best friends (without the flirtiness). It gets annoying sometimes when people see 2 best friends of the opposite gender and automatically expect them to date.
I loved seeing two friends of the opposite sex get together as just friends. From what I've seen in shows, men protagonists are usually big simps that fall for every/almost every girl around their age that they see (like Brock from Pokemon or Hiro in Big Hero 6: the Series)
Although all the obvious problems with the show- it's still my comfort show and has alot of wacky funny sarcasm and other things. It's one of my hyperfixations and comfort shows sometimes its deeper than the terrible things it has. It definitely got better after Dan left- I wish he was never on that show and never tainted it with his Dan-ness.

I kind of don’t like how they made Piper get really angry over things, I personally have dealt with anger issues and it always rubbed me the wrong way how Piper would explode over a charger she needs for example. It felt overdone whenever it happened in the episodes which was often.
Charlotte was definitely my favorite character, but I also liked Jasper. I got annoyed with how both of them were treated and that's when I quit watching the show. I don't remember much about Piper getting character development because they had lost me by then.

I couldn't get into henry danger I tried watching it but it got super boring so I ended up watching something else and plus henry danger is literally a cross between drake and josh and the thundermans which is another reason why I didn't bother to continue watching the show and I don't know why they decided to make a spin off it wasn't needed at all imo

One thing I noticed in this show is the way they treat jasper. They always make fun of his bucket collection, often times people made comments about his hair. This also ties into the fatphobia in the show as he is probably the only main character with a non-muscular body type who is larger than most. It just feels off.
I also noticed in Henry Danger that other than Henry,His Mom and charlotte where the only stable characters in the show literally, Ray is a giant man child who isn’t a real hero like Swelview thinks he is and makes super dangerous that endanger everyone around him , Jasper isn’t that smart and makes many bad decisions, piper is a loud violent spoiled brat who always gets what she wants and hardly gets punished and even commits crime , His dad is always not at all smart and doesn’t take good care of his kids and even allows his Daughter to drive and Schwoz makes inventions before even thinking twice and put butterfly dna in when Henry was in the story tank for a whole month and didn’t even think about his parents or school

You dont have to starve yourself to have abs you just have to work extremely,extremly hard to get them because only around 11% of the population i believe have abs which isnt a lot and if you eat burgers its doesnt matter you just go to the gym and burn of the calories

Yeah, I started live-blogging Henry Danger awhile back, cuz it was my JAM as a kid, and I think the last time I saw that show was, like, before Trump, but now it turns out I have make a freaking LIST of Red Flags this show has.
In Victorious there was a scene where Rex was the host and then the real actors came out. He just harassed the women the entire time. It was weird. While I enjoy the props and ideas of the shows, there is just so much creepiness that Dan Schnider has put in and also just crappy lessons to teach to children. Also I would like to say I also dealt with an ed. I developed anorexia at 13. I don't think seeing these kinds of shows really helped me at all. As soon as I went to Kindergarten, my own hatred for my body slowly unfolded because of all these lessons I grew up on. Not just media. But media can have a really huge effect on how other humans are treated. I'm glad you shared this all because it made me actually feel valid in my experience and not wanting to count my issue as an ed because i was fat already. But yeah I hope you're alright and love yourself now.

I remember being way too obsessed with this show, I only stuck around for the finale because of how much i watched it during the earlier seasons. I always thought that Charlotte, Piper, and almost every girl was very unutilized. I was too young to figure out the reason why a lot of the jokes just gave me a weird vibe, but i'm now old enough to realize how gross the writing was at times. My nostalgia for Henry Danger definitely made me forget how much of Dan Schneiders "unique" writing was made really obvious in the show.
My problem with Henry Danger is that it’s a superhero show with no action. Superheroes and comedy can work, such as with Shazam and Thor: Ragnarok. They need to find a balance, maybe less comedy and more action.
From what I remember of watching the show, I definitely think no one that's self respecting or even tired of the hate and stigma around non skinny/thin bodies would take up Sherona's role. Heart disease is something fat people should be fearful of. "Fatphobia" is society's rejection of an unhealthy lifestyle. Just like drugs. It is something that should be rejected, and stigmatized for the betterment of society.
That is a problem but you create another by guilt tripping and stigmatizing the body when you should stigmatize the source. instead of how a lot of people view even healthy people with more weight as ugly, if people went for a more educated approach like “what you should eat to be healthy” “low budget healthy meals” “quick healthy meals” which still could have it’s own issues is over all beneficial as some time people have whatever body type do to other factors like some medication or genetic factors as not all bodies are healthily obtainable for all people. by making it about health and living healthy not appearance it doesn’t bring down others or make others feel ugly for not looking like this or that.
or just general massage about health not body type because some things are literally out of someones control. if people brought more healthy to be healthy approaches to food then people will in the end love themselves and feel better about food as they are doing so for health not beauty.

I was lucky I grew up watching things that shown a light on eating disorders and how to love yourself so when I started getting the comments of "your so skinny you might fly away" or "you look like a pile of bones" I was able to keep going without thinking about it to much but even now anytime I walk past a mirror I check to see if I got any bigger or I'll have an extra plate to quote "put some more meat on my bones"

All of nickeloden sitcoms from the 2010s always have issues like racism,transphobia,homophobia,etc. I stopped watching teen sitcoms because of the white- washing the main cast of characters.

I would also argue they had some weird obsession with younger characters getting with older characters, like for some reason they really like the idea of a middle schooler trying to date a high schooler or someone older (it's pretty common in Henry Danger and Game shakers)
In Dan’s case he had a particular hatred of Asians, African Americans, and homeless people. He also liked to make fun of abuse and they literally cracked jokes about a stuntman they badly injured (broke his ribs) cuz of their negligence. Also, he just generally was a huge liar and his shows had a staff who liked kids too much on the show as well. They ended up getting convicted too. Also, pressured children to drink alcohol, do things they were uncomfortable with like kissing multiple times, and had a really bad temper.
Honestly, fatphobia is why I stay away from sitcoms altogether. It's like writers literally can't help themselves. So now I literally don't get any sitcom jokes cause it's like...it's not worth the headache.

I was about 7 years old when henry danger came out and i never really liked it.. every episode was them fighting these corny villains and the same corny jokes and them using jasper as a punching bag. And Jace Norman CAN NOT ACT AT ALL. Piper should of been the main character because she actually spends time with her family.. Henry can't have 2 hours with his family and thats a big problem. Most of the times it came on I just turned the Tv channel to disney to watch kc undercover or cartoon network on demand 💀

To call her a racist without including that context might conjure up a completely different image of her.

This is off topic but if/when you're discussing transphobia, if it's a scene that directly makes fun of transwomen/feminine presenting AMAB people (i.e. men in dress jokes, a good example is the Miss Nancy scene in the first episode of Drake and Josh.)
I would advise using the term transmisogyny. It talks more about the issue at hand, since a lot of transphobic jokes make fun of transwomen specifically and transphobia on its own can be vague. This is just my own perspective as a trans person

I don't watch super hero movies, but I think it's ironic that Hollywood is still targeting them at men. Marvel comics are very girl power/trans-friendly/LGBTQ+ inclusive/Multiracial. Most of the artists don't do hyper-sexy muscular bodies with boobacious bodysuits anymore. Starting to see more diverse body types in new characters. Haven't read DC in over 10 years, but I hear they're doing the same. MRAs are screaming mad that they're no longer pandered to exclucively & are trying very hard to get Marvel & DC comics to fail, telling everyone to buy shounen manga instead.

I remember seeing Sharona on screen and it just wasn't a good joke. I didn't even register her body as being a joke and was genuinely confused by the laugh track when she was on screen
What's worse is that scene from Not Another Teen Movie was inspired by She's All That (1999) where the glasses scene is played completely straight. That movie is a guilty pleasure of mine, but the idea Rachael Leigh Cook was unattractive was laughable AF.
sharona reminds me of gladys from bunk'd(which is a mess on its own). she is not fat but she'sconventionally unattractive so of course they have to make her an awful person. a big part of her character is her trying to find a partner and the joke is she's unloveable and ugly. she doesn't shave and she's often called a man because of that(which is wrong on so many levels)

I feel like with the show the characters except for Ray got better with more time, they had time develope outside of stereotypes except for Ray. Ray kinda just stayed as the rude obnoxious jack a-...fruit who didn't really care about anyone outside of himself. This is why I find danger force a better show than Henry danger which isn't an opinion I've had for awhile. Danger force actually calls out its characters, which is nice.

TBH, I'm kinda glad they didn't because it's such a relief to see two best friends of the opposite gender to just remain as best friends (without the flirtiness). It gets annoying sometimes when people see 2 best friends of the opposite gender and automatically expect them to date.
I loved seeing two friends of the opposite sex get together as just friends. From what I've seen in shows, men protagonists are usually big simps that fall for every/almost every girl around their age that they see (like Brock from Pokemon or Hiro in Big Hero 6: the Series)

Although all the obvious problems with the show- it's still my comfort show and has alot of wacky funny sarcasm and other things. It's one of my hyperfixations and comfort shows sometimes its deeper than the terrible things it has. It definitely got better after Dan left- I wish he was never on that show and never tainted it with his Dan-ness.
Real I have such a love hate relationship with this show but I still love it so much. I don't remember much from the earlier seasons, I havent watched them in a hot minute, but yeah I agree the show definetly would've been better if dan had never been on it in the first place lol
I kind of don’t like how they made Piper get really angry over things, I personally have dealt with anger issues and it always rubbed me the wrong way how Piper would explode over a charger she needs for example. It felt overdone whenever it happened in the episodes which was often.
Charlotte was definitely my favorite character, but I also liked Jasper. I got annoyed with how both of them were treated and that's when I quit watching the show. I don't remember much about Piper getting character development because they had lost me by then.

One thing I noticed in this show is the way they treat jasper. They always make fun of his bucket collection, often times people made comments about his hair. This also ties into the fatphobia in the show as he is probably the only main character with a non-muscular body type who is larger than most. It just feels off.

This shows “jokes” fall flat almost every time, I remember watching this when I was younger when it first came out and I thought it was pretty interesting but after the movie I watched a few episodes and realized how trashy it got, not to disregard the first seasons problems tho

Like you’re telling me that some of these superheroes have tiny waists with six packs and eat burgers every other day. It’s so silly.
that is not completely true, it is usually just the actors abs are like that, since they have to change weight quickly to suit their role
You dont have to starve yourself to have abs you just have to work extremely,extremly hard to get them because only around 11% of the population i believe have abs which isnt a lot and if you eat burgers its doesnt matter you just go to the gym and burn of the calories
@@honytawk5968 actually to get prominent abs you have to dehydrate yourself on purpose, my older brother is ripped as hell works out everyday eats healthy etc, and has for years. He doesn’t have super prominent abs unless he hasn’t eaten or drunk water in a while. Abs naturally are pretty faint

In Victorious there was a scene where Rex was the host and then the real actors came out. He just harassed the women the entire time. It was weird. While I enjoy the props and ideas of the shows, there is just so much creepiness that Dan Schnider has put in and also just crappy lessons to teach to children.
Also I would like to say I also dealt with an ed. I developed anorexia at 13. I don't think seeing these kinds of shows really helped me at all. As soon as I went to Kindergarten, my own hatred for my body slowly unfolded because of all these lessons I grew up on. Not just media. But media can have a really huge effect on how other humans are treated.
I'm glad you shared this all because it made me actually feel valid in my experience and not wanting to count my issue as an ed because i was fat already. But yeah I hope you're alright and love yourself now.

My problem with Henry Danger is that it’s a superhero show with no action. Superheroes and comedy can work, such as with Shazam and Thor: Ragnarok. They need to find a balance, maybe less comedy and more action.

From what I remember of watching the show, I definitely think no one that's self respecting or even tired of the hate and stigma around non skinny/thin bodies would take up Sherona's role. Heart disease is something fat people should be fearful of. "Fatphobia" is society's rejection of an unhealthy lifestyle. Just like drugs. It is something that should be rejected, and stigmatized for the betterment of society.
That is a problem but you create another by guilt tripping and stigmatizing the body when you should stigmatize the source. instead of how a lot of people view even healthy people with more weight as ugly, if people went for a more educated approach like “what you should eat to be healthy” “low budget healthy meals” “quick healthy meals” which still could have it’s own issues is over all beneficial as some time people have whatever body type do to other factors like some medication or genetic factors as not all bodies are healthily obtainable for all people. by making it about health and living healthy not appearance it doesn’t bring down others or make others feel ugly for not looking like this or that.
or just general massage about health not body type because some things are literally out of someones control. if people brought more healthy to be healthy approaches to food then people will in the end love themselves and feel better about food as they are doing so for health not beauty.
