- The second half of our kiteboarding trip to Hatteras, North Carolina in May 2018. Sam Medysky dropped by for an Airush demo. We did a downwinder from our house in Rodanthe to Salvo Day Use Area. We checked out REAL Watersports and Cape Point. And something else pretty exciting happened - but you'll have to watch the video to find out what ;)

The house featured in the film "Nights in Rodanthe" has been moved.
It was originally right by the water and was one of the first houses you would see as you entered Mirlo Beach

Great videos of Cape Hatteras! You did a great job of capturing the atmosphere of what it is like with a group of windsurfers/kiteboarders. If you make the trip again would love to see a down winder on the ocean side. This fall will be our 20th fall trip to Avon, NC. Keep on making the videos!

Super sad that this house, and all of the other wonderful houses on Cross of Honor Way are no longer accessible for kiting right out of their backyards anymore.....
Yeah, such a bummer! Yuri went back to this house while the bridge was being built and it was very gusty/turbulent... unrideable :(

Congrats, great video! Noticed you are on LEI'S sometimes and foil kites sometimes. How do you decide which you're going to fly?
Thanks! We use LEIs (7m & 9m) in higher winds and foil kites (12m & 15m) in lower winds.
I think y'all were right next to Bob Cook who owns kiteridersllc this year 2019 at the end of April.. . I remember the guy with a little longer hair doing tricks at 3:25 n 3:31, 3:37 :-) This year it was windy all but 1 day out of 2 weeks for us! We also did a 6m down winder on lake MI on the way there.. Enjoyable to say the least! Congrats on the engagement U2!
Thanks so much! We were in Waves (on Otter Way) this year, first week of May. That guy is Sam Medysky - he's a pro-kiter. He doesn't stay with us, but we have run into him in Hatty this year on the water, and last year he ran an Airush demo at our house. This year was amazing conditions - we kited everyday the week we were there and it was so warm! Hatty is the best!! :)
What was the temperature? Nice video.
Can't remember what the temperature was exactly - probably mid to high teens (degrees Celcius) on the colder days/low twenties on the warmer days
