'Charm' - that one word sums up the feeling of driving these old cars perfectly.
My ex boss who is also my friend had the exactly same one with over 500k kms on original engine and tranny, absolutely beautiful piece of art!
I applaud them for driving it that much. They just don’t build em like that anymore.
Back in 2000 these 930s where going for 35k-40k and knew it was a great price and but I was a poor college kid. I Always wanted a 1989 guards red 930 with black Fuchs with polished lip wheels. Saw one parked at school and I fell in love. By the time I was ready to buy these 930s were selling for 6 figures. I love the 930s but I do not believe they are worth anywhere north of 60k IMO. 10:27
my dream car, ive been a passenger a few times in a 930 turbo wide bodied variant and to this day its the stand out experience ive ever had in a car. Iconic doesnt quite cover it, its so much more than that, forget italian trash this is the absolute real deal for me , I really hope you manage to get one of your own ❤👍👍👍👍
Thanks for watching. Maybe one day you’ll be lucky enough to get one. Who knows 🤷♂️👍
@@alsatch_ thanks v much 👍👍 more likely you'll have one waay before me! 👍👍🤣🤣🤣
if i can decide what to do with my "alte golfs" I would one day love a 996 maybe if im extremely lucky!!
Stunning vehicle. I've always loved classic Porsches ever since I saw my fist 911s in 1969. This was the next step for Beetle owners. Alas never attained my ambition. And the prices today, you'd have to sell a kidney to buy one, especially in that condition. Oh! Well never to old to dream.,...What a car👍
Yeah prices are sky high have been for a good 10 years now. We can all dream though right. Thanks mate 🙌👍
Stunning car. Nice commentary. We can see you falling in love with the car as your reviewing/driving it. Get ready to pull out your checkbook…!
That's the plan…. Eventually but timing isn’t right just now. One day though 😍😍 thanks 🙏 👍
Later 3.2 with G50 box is the one to have. I’ve had both a 3.2 G50 and a SC with 915 box never had an issue driving either car. All air cooled are an experience. 😎
Superb. Do you still have them? Loved the experience. I love my water cooled stuff but this is a different level of cool. One day I’ll get one fingers crossed
@@alsatch_ I’ve got a 993 Carrera 4 manual.
Absolutely Gorgeous - what a fine example. Truly an icon
Couldn't agree more! Cheers 👍
Video is super well done. Especially the last few minutes of reflection!
Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks very much 👍🙌
Absolutely beautiful machine.
Agreed mate. Just wish it was mine 😂😂 cheers 👍
I'm there with you, mate. I want an air cooled.
One day mate. One day 🙌
You should get one. But get one that’s had a engine rebuild. Does not matter if low mileage. Make sure it’s been done properly! Rubber gaskets dry and that’s not something you can avoid with older cars. They will shine up top for sure but lack of proper use causes issues! Good luck
I like ur content bro
I appreciate it thanks 😃
Stunning car
It is mate. Lovely things. Cheers 👍
Get one with the G50 transmission. You're welcome...
It's pretty simple for me why I want an air-cooled 911. I don't want to pay $60 to 90k for a 997.1 or 997.2 that will have catastrophic engine failures with a cost of $35k for an engine rebuild.I also have a little extra $ now than when I first started driving. I currently drive an E36 M3 and the car is amazing. Then had the chance to drive a 911 and it was awesome. More power and lighter.
Hello Al - what an “occasion” for sure. Love how this vehicle forces one to be deliberate. What. A. Privilege. Indeed! Thanks for bringing this to us Al. Such a rare instance to be presented with an immaculate well kept Porsche or any 38 year old model - most especially this one. One can only imagine the increase in chiro visits by the many folks you passed on this drive..! 😂 perfection!
Thanks 🙏 I sometimes like to think of the lives the previous owners might have led, the lives they lead now and what stories they have about the car
Mines older... and just as wonderful. Well even more so, since it has the steering on the proper side.
Do you double clutch 🤔
If you are having problems with the steering... Get stronger. 🤣
Haha. I’m working on the guns for future air cooled experiences. Super cars love the charm 👍
The pedals are slightly off set live the old VW Beetle
9:59 new generation indian beauty walks beside 36 Yr old German beauty😂❤
She was indeed beautiful. And so was the car 😁
If I would get a third car, I'd buy one no doubt
Such a different experience would love to get one yeah. Maybe one day 👍
@@alsatch_ Cool vid brother
The G series wide body is as cool as it gets and was on many a kids wall as a poster in the 80's. Those are a bit heavier than the regular Carrera 3.2 so that plays a bit into the heavier steering feel. The great part is a motivated owner can rebuild it at home when the time comes and get another 50HP out of it in the process. Also, those M491 cars have the brakes from a 917. This one is a beauty.
That’s for that info. I wasn’t aware of that brake info. Good to know. I really enjoyed this car, pure driving experience like no water cooled model. 👍
Suits you, sir!
Ha. Thanks again mate. Grateful for the opportunity 👍
@@alsatch_ My pleasure mate, it was a treat to see it on YT, great video 👌
