Fear destroys cililization. Fear leads to Hate. Social Media, especially tik tok & Co, work on that. Thats my way to understand this masterpiece.

Its important that its not just the media itself but can also very well be politicians towards the populist/extremist spectrum. this is what till embodies in this video, a populist leader who spreads fear. you can put multiple people in his place, dictators like hitler or populist parties. its no coincidence that the 3 colors in this video were white black and red which are the colors of the nazi regime.
till is portrayed as an ugly and mentally ill person descending into madness while the normal people that the rest of the band represents in some scenes slowly lose their minds. meanwhile the two women of color surrounded by barbed wire are presented as relatively normal and harmless. people who dont want to cause any harm and just want to leave their home country either because its at war or because the chances of a peaceful and stable life are just not great.

The NSDAP was a socialist Party, Racism, Fascism has no political Side, is Left and Right!
The Greens, for example, are for me an ideological, totalitarian, eco-fascist Party that we should be wary of!
And as for the Woman with the Child, you can interpret it that way and that's how I understand it:
They are sitting there, afraid just like the residents who first barbecue and then build Walls!
They have protected themselves with barbed wire, sit there and watch the others!
You do Sing:: Everyone is Afraid ....

Rammstein made it double! "Wer hat Angst vorm Schwarzen Mann" is a Childhood game, but it is a symbol for fear for the new, the strange and new things! It´s like the line: Angst frisst Seele auf!/Fear eat your soul!

This song can refer to many countries, but in particular America imo ( the cheerleaders, the guns, American-looking dads barbecuing, walls, and the fear or angst many Americans possess of immigrants strongly ingrained into them by dishonest right wing media and politicians.

Well ...schwarzer Mann does mean "black man" BUT that has nothing to do with skin colour.
The term "Schwarz" was not used to name a colour in the past as like it is today but used purely "conceptional symbolic" so to say to describe "the fearful, the unknown, the unseen, the evil, the dark" and way later it became the term for "a colour"...and the common term "schwarzer Mann" is a linguistic relict from that past describing "a fearful/evil being" which is stll in use in its "original meaning"....also "Mann/man" was originally not genderized but the neutral term for "a being"..that´s the reason for the term "mankind" describing all human beings = male + female = actual literally meaning "beings of one kin"
Also in English till the 17th century it was common to reference "an evil person but also a humourless person" = "a man´s attitude" as "black person/black attitude" before it became a term for a colour.
What´s left today of that "symbolic concept" is for instance the phrase "dark thoughts" which also is a phrase in German "dunkle Gedanken".
Fun fact : The clou is that "white and black" are actually "no colours" in the science subject matter chromatics/colour theory but so to say "reference points" and all inbetween those 2 reference points are then "colours"... White + Black are just "in common speech/colloquially" refered as "colours"

The plague that killed 30% of german population in medieval times was called "Black Death" because of the abscesses filled with a dark-blackish liquid the infected got on their skin.
The cuild-catch game is about to "get never touched by an infected - or you will be infected, too".
Black and "Dark" are often used as synonyms in the german language.
Here in the word-play it is the meaning of the Boogeyman and the literal meaning "Dark (skined) men"

You are right about the sweeties. In German they were called "N-word kiss" - nowadays foam kiss or the like. And for sure Rammstein included this intentionally.
Originally "black man" stands for a kind of bogeyman (or death) in German. There is an old catch and run children's game. One child is the "black man", starting with the phrase "Who's afraid of the black man?". The others answer "No one." ... "And when he comes?" ... "Then we run." The children run away and try to escape the "black man". When one is catched, it is the next "black man". I guess that's originated from medivial time when the plague (or "black death") killed half of the population of Europe. Infected people partly got a black skin and and children were told to stay away from them.
Nevertheless Rammstein is playing with the double meaning of "black man". Some politicians and media spread fear about refugees comming to Europe. And even though most of them are not black, they might look a bit different and give a trigger to xenophobia ... which those politicians try to use for their own goals. So "crazy" politicians (one of the two roles, Till plays in the video) and indifferent media just seeking for attention are a dangerous combination. (That is at least my interpretation.)

The song is from April 2022. Two months after? And two years after? The fearmongering functioned. The former BBQ-mates build walls against her mates/neighbours and take arms from the cheerleaders. Cheerleaders are familiar in?🧐Why are now then Till Lindemann and Rammstein get censored in the US-Protecorate Germany? Mal gespannt, ob das hier stehen bleibt/ob ich es von einem anderen Account auch sehen kann.🤨

Where does the term "Black Man" come from?
    The Bogeyman - Wikipedia
The Bogeyman is based on the mythical Figure of the same Name, who appears in European Folklore as an ominous, terrifying Figure, but also as a personification of Death, e.g. in the embodiment of the Black Death.
If the Bogeyman touches you, you will die, because the Bogeyman is infected with the plague, he is a Danger!
There is also a German Children's Game of the same Name!
First and foremost, this is about Fear, Fear of each other, Fear that is fuelled, Fear that separates us from each other!
Fear is used (politics) to achieve Goals, Manipulation by and with the Media!
If you want, you can also interpret other Things into it, but I think that's the main Statement!

The translation makes the lyrics lose their meaning. There's a game in Germany called "Wer hat Angst vorm schwarzen Mann". This actually refers to the bogeyman. In Germany he's called the black man.
That's the genius of Till Lindemann. He uses the title of a children's game and puts it in the context of populists who are concerned with the Germans' fear of foreign infiltration.
And a little criticism of exaggerated political correctness at the End.

    • @tkh846

The worst song by Rammstein in terms of context. Here in Germany, the open borders policy has led to a 2.5-fold increase in crimes against sexual self-determination within 8 years. Does anyone have any idea what this means for the people and victims? To speak of "unjustified fear" here mocks the victims and is simply unspeakably stupid
