Another great episode. Slowly learning about Betty a little more as we go. Felt a little quick for Max to reveal himself, but that back fired. And we are now in vault 4. What was your reaction? What did we miss?

Hoping you guys are call play some of the fallout games on your gaming channel
That will happen at some point

Maximus makes kids decisions. Think about him that way and he makes sense. Stunted growth.
"Thought for sure you'd at least loot them for something"
Mason talking like a Fallout player 😂
...took the fiend's pipe-pistol, but ammo may be hard to find.😀
@@tedstoecker8022 He has at least a few teeth left!
Right lol he's slowly becoming us
Just rapidly press X and then fast travel to your home base to stash it away in a work bench before you become over encumbered.
The moment you run out of ammo is the moment you run into a Super Mutant. Always be looting. And save often.
It is, in fact, called a stimpak :D
Every single overseer in Vault 33 came from vault 31 thats the 31 to 33 thing he kept picking up on.
Probably why the people in 32 killed their overseer (31)
@@TooFurious4 What spoilers lol. What they said is from this episode. Maybe put some more points into Perception so you can see it.
In this episode we have every overseer in 33 is from 31 and never 32 or 33.
Add that to last episode :
- we know what is going on;
- Dead to management.
So what is going on. 🤫
@@TooFurious4 Its not a spoiler its literally in the video you are watching. If you're reading the comments before watching the video, thats on you, its common sense that people would be talking about the video you're watching here.
@@TooFurious4 it's literally what that scene is suppoused to be implying.
Don’t feel bad guys, other reactors predict what’s going to happen at about 5 percent accuracy too
Imagine you get branded by a knight only to discover it is, in fact, the dude you bullied? Absolutely wild 😂 Maximus is truly a wild man. Looking forward to this reaction as always!
Walton "Ghoulgins" knocks it out of the park, such a great actor!
"what was that describing 31 to 33?" All Elected Overseers come from Vault 31
Robert Olsen 31 to 33 ELECTED OVERSEER
Ava West 31 to 33 ELECTED OVERSEER
George Yaffe 31 to 33 ELECTED OVERSEER
Patricia Peters 31 to 33 ELECTED OVERSEER
Alexander Boamer 31 to 33 ELECTED OVERSEER
Laurence Ronald 31 to 33 ELECTED OVERSEER
Hank MacLean 31 to 33 ELECTED OVERSEER
I understood that right away, idk why people miss easily readable data. I didn't even play the games.

Also Betty...
@@beetlebob4675 Well you're just a special lil smartie aren't ya?
Diamond Dave if you want more lore you should watch shoddycast's storytellar:fallout its a really fun and good way to learn the lore.
🤜🤛
@@BaddMedicine Even though there are no direct spoilers of the show, I'd still recommend to watch the lore after you finish the show. It's just more entertaining to watch people who really dont know what's going on. And trust me, it's still a mind blowing (one) revelation (after the other) for the Fallout fans too, it's just that it's because we understand A LOT of the history and timeline and it's amazing what they did with what they have. But if you only understand one or two things, I believe it wont be as "whoa" lol
There are already at least 6 canon games with lore as high as the mountains and they are all in some way or form are connected. It's a GREAT lore but, yea, my suggestion is to wait. Besides if any of you wanna play the games, maybe you dont wanna get spoiled either
Tatos in universe are a crossbreed of potatoes and tomatoes.
14:55 Many of the people in Shady Sands who started New California Republic were descendants of a Vault so I guess Lucy shouldn’t be so depressed. She may have missed reclamation day but another vault started it.
When was that stated in the episode? I've watched it several times and I didn't hear that.
@@scubadawgy It’s not stated in the show, it’s a Fallout universe lore.
@Retrovorious my point was really that there's no way Lucy would know, so she's still going to be depressed.
@@scubadawgy LoL yeah, I guess so.
Oh, I thought they said the people left on the surface were the ones who started the New California Republic that's why when the vault-tec found out about it they dropped the bomb because they didn't like that they weren't the one who started it.
I think you're misunderstanding the 31,32,33 subplot. The point of the terminal logs scene is to show that all overseers in 33 have been people transferred from 31 to 33. And also you kinda talked over the beginning when Chet and Norm were still in 32, there was another writing on the wall next to the 31 vault door.
The fact that the logs scene doesn't show anything about 32 is because Norm is using a terminal from 33. Pretty sure if he'd read the triennial trades logs from a 32 terminal it would be the same situation, all 31 to 32 transfers would be elected overseers.
Thats where the last episode and the first Norm and Chet scene in this episode come in play with all the wall writings. Seems like 32 people started to catch up that all overseers came from 31 and started questioning. Because we even see the 32 overseer tied to his chair in his office last episode. And he didn't look like he killed himself like some of the other corpses.
That and the fact that the writing on that office wall was "death to management" tells us a lot.
27:57 that also can't be, since we learn from the last episode that the vault was opened from the outside since everyone inside was already dead 2 years ago.
"He can't go back to the Brotherhood" did they miss the entire point of his plot is TO GO BACK but AFTER he gets the head because then, he assumes, that will make it all okay? He'll be forgiven for everything else and even made a full on Knight as a reward for completing the mission, that is his expectation and the entire reason why he is after the head AT ALL.
What is their thinking here? That he is going after the head "just because"?
He kinda is. He’s just too dumb to know it won’t work. Low intelligence builds everybody! 👍🏽
Most vaults are different and seperated, we don't know what happend in many of the 111+ total vaults from the games and other media, so far vault 31, 32 and 33 are unique because they are interconnected. If you guys are curious about other vaults there are videos on youtube detailing what happend in the known vaults, it would be super interesting to see you guys react to that after you finish this season.
I think the highest number so far is 118
@@Juan-tm8fk They said in lore it was a contract for 122 in 'project safehouse' but its all vague enough they could easily go much higher in the future if they need to.
There are videos about a good 20 of them based in lore from the games. It's very interesting and scary what they did with them.
I love your guy's theories on vault 31. I can't wait till you guys find out what is going on.
Great one! I love that we all are really having fun with this series! 😊
If you guys like the actress who plays Lucy, you might like her in another show called Yellowjackets. It’s more of a horror/mystery/suspense/drama but I think she delivered an excellent performance there too.
They Should make some FALLOUT SHOW MERCHANDISE CARDIGANS,\SWEATERS With
"I AM BURT" ON IT.. LOL... Or "WHAT WAS I THINKING"?.. 😀😁😎
"That is one wet lady." with a finger pointing to your right.
Shady sands was a location in the earlier games before Bethesda took over so it's cool to see it in the show, as a drawing location for a few characters. Excited for you to unpack this puzzle with the rest of the episodes, episode 6 might be my favourite so excited for you guys to dive into it next week.
Mason, I rooted for Chet the entire show 😂 Love Chet, he means well and deserves the best. And it is a StimPak with an i
Lights etc can still work because the fission/fusion power systems the old world developed can last so long, in real life NASA and the Russians used a lot of nuclear powered systems that worked for decades like the "Voyager" spacecraft ;)
That's right, although the atomic batteries (radioisotope thermoelectric generators, RTGs) used in spacecraft which are sent beyond the effective range of solar panels use neither fusion nor fission (so, they're not reactors) but only the heat caused by natural decay of radioactive materials to generate electricity.
@@VoodooMcVee yup :) electrothermal or electrostatic
but hey "reactor" is simpler for most folk ;)
@VoodooMcVee so they technically derive energy from fission, just not the way "fission reactors" do
@@billhutchinson6318 Not as far as I know. Fission is a controlled reaction in a... well... reactor, which utilises the heat generated by splitting an atomic nucleus by means of free neutrons. An RTG only uses the heat of naturally occurring nuclear decay. Decay is random (but well understood and thus predictable), while fission is deliberate.
At least that's how I understood it and I'm by no means an expert, just a somewhat interested layman.
@@VoodooMcVee Fission is just the word for when large atoms split into smaller atoms which releases energy. That process is controlled in a fission reactor, but it's not a different process to the natural decay.
Walton has the most screentime by far in the show, it was ok to have an episode without him since in all other episodes we get a double dose of Goggins Goodness with the flashbacks plus the Ghoul 🧟♂️🤠
Recently started watching the gaming channel since you guys started Red Dead, but I absolutely would LOVE to watch you guys play fallout 4.
You could not ask for a better adaptation from the game series. It is faithful to almost all the lore (bar a few dates), and manages to capture the spirit of the game while telling a new and original story. It’s hard to imagine an adaptation better than this. What a relief, and a joy, to have a good game adapted series!
Could not agree more. And not only is it faithful to the lore, it expands upon it.
I think Maximus and Lucy are gonna be a couple and poor chet sorry 😂 and my favorite is the Ghoul
Okey Dokey
there are a total of 122 vaults across the country
Gnegnegne
Yes. Theory craft. Make your predictions. It will be so fun to see which are true, and which are not!!
Glad you all are enjoying the series!
Oh my god, so many reactors fail to get the simple idea of "Transfers 31 to 33 - Overseer". What the fuck is going on with media literacy these days? Literally every reactor I watch misinterprets that scene. This literally hurts my brain, I have NO CLUE how can anyone interpret that moment as anything else except the way it was intended to be interpreted.
And in case you're still struggling, they're saying that every Overseer in history of 33 was a transfer from 31, no overseers from any other vaults.
They caught on in their discussion.
Because the screen goes by fast and there’s also a bunch of other useless information
@anonymoushuman8443 sorry, gotta agree with the OP on this one. While there is some useless info, in this case they used every trick in the book to make it very clear that this info was important and wouldn't go unnoticed. Just curious and an honest question, not trying to be flip at all; do you watch the show on a cellphone or small screen?
What they did to make it obvious:
It really was on the screen quite awhile. The entire scene was over a minute long and the computer screen was the focus for most of that time. It wasn't a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moment.
They repeatedly animated the same words (31 to 33 & elected overseer) onto the screen. The animation of the text ensures the viewer would notice it. Repeating the words says “Hey viewer, this is important stuff. Pay attention.”
The info wasn’t in the background of the frame. The computer screen filled the entire frame. At one point, they zoomed in so the words ‘31 to 33 & elected overseer” took up the entire frame. Lastly they zoomed in so far the camera had to pan over each word in “31 to 33” individually. Again signaling to the viewer that it was important info.
They showed Norm with a very concerned expression on his face as he was reading the terminal.
They played foreboding, ominous music the entire scene.
They had a close-up on Betty as they announced her victory and immediately switched back to the computer terminal showing her name and the, now familiar words, “31 to 33 & elected overseer” and then they zoomed in on just “31 to 33”.
I'm not sure what else the show runners could have done to make it more obvious what the message was.
The confusion most likely comes from peoples brain processing to 31 to 33 in the context of something being an election as the vote ratio. This is backed up by the scene with Betty winning by 95% majority. 1% off 31/33. Like normal elections don’t state where the candidates are from as normal statistical information. So yeah people probably assumed votes, that’s what bad medicine did at first. I think why yes it can be frustrating it’s more then understandable why there’s confusion. Also you’re whining
You guys are amazing love the show.
All your guesses being wrong is a sign that's it's a well-written show. As long as the answers still end up making sense, anyway. But it's good to be unpredictable, up to a point.
All I'm going to say is you guys aren't going to get anything right. A lot of your questions will be answered in the final episode, so you have to wait lol. Some of your questions will be indirectly answered next episode but not the big ones. If I'm not mistaken, stimpacks accelerate healing what's something else in them that fixes something with some type of ingredient that heals things that don't normally heal on their own, or something like that. Really it's just a mechanic from the games.
One thing that brings me a bit of a chuckle when I watch people who haven’t played the game react to the show is EVERYTIME when it comes to the “planting tatos” part everyone laughs thinking they screwed up saying it bc they were nervous about getting caught but that’s not it at all. In the game they are literally just called “tatos” you will never find a “potato” in fallout games lol
Only three more episodes lads. But three more weeks to wait till your reaction to the end! 😫
It’s gonna be rough waiting for them 😂
reel rejects and previed have all their ep reviews up if you’re looking for a binge!
Bridgeco is another great pair of reactors and they tried sticking to the weekly schedule too but the show got too good so they're putting them out much faster lol. They're up to Ep 7.
in fallout universe a tato is a hybrid of tomato and potato plants
It's honestly the scariest part of Fallout. I love potatoes and hate tomatoes so if they combined I'd be crushed.
@@helios566tomatoes on chicken sandwiches and burgers are good though other than that I don’t really eat them
And a Tomato and Tobacco makes a Tomacco.
Correct, but it doesn't make sense for them to be in a vault. Weren't they invented on the surface after the vaults were sealed?
@@scubadawgymaybe Rose MacLean brought them back idk
What an amazing story and universe. I came into this show never had played any of the games... im all in now baby. Thanks for the good time boys. Also..Would love it if you guys did xmen 97.? ❤
2077 was the bombs from all over the world that created the apocalypse. Shady Sands was bombed separately when Maximus was a kid, in a more recent war.
Shady Sands is a very important location in Fallout's lore, more specifically regarding Fallout 1, Fallout 2 and New Vegas, as those games take place in the west coast. To see it gone.. man..
Hurt my heart it did.
And to see it teleported locations twice lol. It changed locations between FO1 & FO2 and now the show.
@@Tattle-by-Tale Obviously some pre-war tech! XD
@@Tattle-by-Tale Or just relocated due to hostilities or other adverse conditions. There are plenty of examples in history of capitals being moved to new locations due to war, famine, etc. There is at least one clue in this series that at least opens the possibility that the Shady Sands we see in this episode is not necessarily the original.
@@cervanntes Well they'd have had to move Vault's 13 and 15 as well then. Because in FO2, Vault 13, Shady Sands, and Vault 15 are 100+ miles more west than they are in FO1.
Everytime you drop this my day is already off a good note I really look forward to y’all finishing this series but I hope y’all all have good day thank you for this video
We agree with THE OAK..On where ALL THE AWARDS SHOULD GO!.. THE GHOUL IS JUST SO COOL!!..

Can’t wait for y’all to react to the next episode 😂😂😂😂😂its priceless and really good 👍
I haven't finished watch this yet, but i wanted to respond to The Oak. What the computer is tell us is that every Overseer comes from Vault 31 originally. If this gets addressed later in the reaction, y'all can troll me for jumping the gun on explanation.
You should have finished ;-) They caught on in their discussion.

great reaction guys..just sub'd..much love god bless
34:00 The in-game stories of the Vaults can be very, very dark.
Chet reminds me of Justin Timberlake in the movie Bad Teacher lol
Most surprising for me about this series are the characters. The superb adaptation of the Fallout Universe is well known by now but the character studies? Norm, the weedy punching bag of the start becomes the epitome of courage and morality. Maximus, the aspiring Knight from childhood descends into dubious motives and intentions (he lies all the time, did he murder Knight Titus?). Lucy moving from innocence to jaded reality. The Ghoul I won't spoil.
They represent the paths you can choose as a player.
The speed runner/main qurst only player
The do-gooder player
The novice/no moral player
And the expert survivalist player.
At least, that's how I interpret it.
Goosey comes to save the day.
they are in fact tato's gentlemen. I know it sounds like they are being funny but in Fallout tato's are a hardy combination of tomatoes and potatoes.
Would you guys ever consider watching Rio? It’s a classic from my childhood and I honestly think it’s still a great movie today.
The end credits drop hints for the next episode/series plot. All in all, well-done series. Looking forward to season 2
you guys are awesome ❤
Like half the people who watch this episode get confused on the 31 to 33 scene and I find it fascinating because I don't understand the confusion. Like it's totally understandable how you wouldn't know * why * it's happening, but people don't even realize that every single person transferred from 31 was eventually elected overseer. It's a slow scene where they repeat the same information like 6 times on the computer screen. Are people just not reading or something?
Not just that, Norm talks about it again in detail with Chet in the next Vault scene. There are lots of mysteries still going, but that was made extremely clear.
Because the screen goes by fast
I think with reaction channels they’re so concerned with missing vital information that they overlook really simple given information. It’s a crux of filming yourself, happens to a ton of content creators from reactors to those who game play 🤷♀️
Ha! This, AND the entire Shady Sands scene. Like yeah, the writers don't explicitly make Maximus be like "I lived in this town as a child, and one day something happened and the whole thing blew up and I was saved by the Brotherhood" but like.....the context clues aren't THAT obtuse, are they?? His conversation with Lucy literally goes from Point A "hey what happened to this town that didn't work out" to Point B "let me show you, here's the crater" to Point C "I survived it, that's what I meant about being a kid when the bombs dropped"
You guys keep referring to the "game" their were 5 cannon games 7 games total. Their are tidbits of info sprinkled in the show from all of them. But I imagine that New Vegas and Fallout 4 will have the most influence.
For Mr. Answer, to what group do you belong that has the slogan, "Ready, Willing, and Able"? Army? The Doe Fund? Navy Seals? Something else? It's an important idea for you, otherwise I figure you wouldn't claim it for your catch phrase.

"Do you think 31 came to 32 and took all their resources"
Oh summer child, its SOOOOO much worse :D
They already showed the reason in the show to the point these guys watched, but most people didn't catch the meaning of it, the video playing on the TV as they explored 32.
@@janetd5121 that video is about resources and overpopulation. It's heavily implied Vault 32 revolted because they found out Vault-Tec was using them as selective *REDACTED* and *REDACTED* hence the "Death to Management" on the wall. I'm actually familiar with the experiment that footage is from, if it's the one I'm thinking, and it's another fascinating study but not one that is applicable to humans (and may not have even been interpreted correctly initially anyway). What caused mouse utopias to collapse aren't really applicable in this situation, nor does it seem to match what we see in the show. I think it was a creepy clip that fit the atmosphere and misdirected viewers, setting up for the larger reveal.
@@DomR1997 From what I heard, they supplied the mouse "utopia" unlimited food and room but forgot to include anything for the mice to do.
@@vederianl9723 there were actually multiple mouse utopias, and the intent was to see if moral decay resulted from overpopulation, a popular opinion at the time due to a mixture of misreporting (cause we know the media loves a panic) and misperceptions on the publics part. Modern researchers, when looking at the reports from the studies, have concluded that in actuality the major issue was that the strongest males would stake out large territories, forcing weaker males to crowd together, becoming more violent. Mice that were able to maintain a coherent territory often maintained social norms. Some researchers switched to using human highschoolers for comparable studies and found that a more likely cause was excessive social interaction, not overcrowding. If that's the case, then it makes sense why the internet and social media specifically has given so many people brainworms.
@@DomR1997 They were clearly fighting each other over limited resources due to lack of food, some choose to opt out instead. They revolted and tied up the overseer likely getting the truth out of him about what is going on as most overseers knew what the experiment is in their vault, since all overseers of 32 and 33 are from 31 he certainly did. I think they found out the truth after the chaos of the experiment already was well started. The rat video does match the evidence presented and it is only explanation on the show to date what happened in 32.
New to the channel. Just started watching videos a few weeks ago. I just got home from a crappy day at work and the first thing I wanted to do was pop on a Bad Medicine reaction to make my day better. Thanks for being you and thanks for the awesome content 🎉❤

Wow! What an intro to episode! I would feel so claustrophobic being left in the suit even for that short while like Maximus! Liked Quinn's "better give her the radaway, right away" hehe 😄 definitely something shady going on with Betty, will be intriguing to see what happened to 32, great content as always guys! 😊
28:13 they are in vault 4 now. You might need to pause the show, but you can see the number on the back of their outfits. It's easier to see in the reflection of a uniform in the glass @39:27 into the episode, when the camera is inside the vault looking out at Lucy and Maximus.
Can you react to Gone Girl
It's "stim" pack as in stimulant pack. Games have used these since DOOM. So it's an injection of things like adrenaline or amphetamines to help you ignore pain, not actually do any healing.
StarCraft played this straight the best - marine stimpacks make them move and attack faster but actually damage their health.
The crater was Shady Sands. It got nuked long post war and more in recent times. And they're far away from Lucy's vault, they're generally not that big overall
.

Remarkably, Betty didn't technically lie about their mother. She and Hank did "bury" her and her pipboy.
There's no actual confirmation it was nuked... It couldnhave been the Heilos-1 station as the crater doesn't make since for a nuclear blast. It's too deep compared to width and the surrounding area isn't leveled from the blast.
She was not buried she's a ghoul, technically you can bury a ghoul but not a feral one
@@Lil.Lon3Ly Are you seriously going to spoil them because you're pedantic? lol
