Watching high level potemkin is always threatening because he can struggle to get out of situations so much, but you know that if he manages to get out that suddenly the opponent is reduced to dust. Pot can be getting absolutely stomped for 90% of a round but he is always still at least a little bit fear inducing because he has to be kept struggling (Technically this is true for everyone but it feels much more intense for Pot, at least to me)
might be the most retarded shit ive heard in a while lol every single high lvl player will do the optimal combo whenever possible to get the most damage. you want them to do fancy stuff just to entertain you? talkin bout ky but stay quite when snake hits 6 garuda impacts in a row? edgar allan Potemkin is a heavy weight and ky doesn't have any combo extender other than fuldre arc and charge dust so wtf do you expect him to do? fabricate some never before seen shit that doesn't exist? why watch high lvl play if you can't stand characters doing their bread and butter combo's?
SIIIIIGHHHHH Video begins with Snake Eyez starting first round by INSTANTLY pulling a pot buster and as his second attack....he does and lands another Pot Buster. So why does this guy gets so much love everytime from the comments on these videos? Because I swear, just two days ago this page uploaded another video where he was up against a Bridget and despite that player having a final win score of 3-2 comments were pretty much only "Snake eyes is a god", "he read his opponent perfectly","look at that heavenly pot buster he did" as well as people commenting tons of timestamps of his best moments in that video. I also know that Snake eyez has won tournaments and he mains Zangief in street fighter but....can someone who is NOT biased tell me? Being a guy who NEVER plays grappler fighter characters is it because those moves are superhard to do or connect with? .............??? And YES I'm aware that I didn't need to watch this video but Dany is in it and he is imo THE Ky player so there's that EDIT: Is it because you rarely see potemkin in Tourneys? Is it because Potemkin is ranked as low, maybe even bottom tier? Or do tons of his fans just subscribe/watch these videos? Is it because as a grab character and Pot buster being THE grab that knocks off like 40% of opponents health, Snake eyexz like to troll or keep opponents on their toes knowing that at any moment they will suffer from said move?
Lmao I'm not even sure whether to give you a serious answer or not but here goes. Potemkin is mechanically a difficult character to play. In addition, he has very limited mobility compared to most of the cast. With those disadvantages, it's an absolute treat to see how a highly ranked player works around all of it, maximizing the strengths of the character, and mind-gaming their opponents into finally sitting still long enough to get grabbed. The moves themselves are pretty hype, with excellent sounds, animations, and the voice lines to boot. Should the opponent find themselves holding up 24/7 to avoid the grab, there's plenty of options to counter that including his super which is even more hype to watch. That combined with some very technical combos and perfectly timed baits, bursts and pokes from probably the best or second best Potemkin in the world, it's no surprise that he has a solid viewership. Hope that clears it up.
so the thing is snake eyez has done LEGENDARY things in the fgc as a whole, he isnt just good, he has had INSANE preformaces with zangief at the highest level to solidfy himself as a fgc goat. so when people see snake eyez who was primarily a sf player before this at least known to the genral public, he seemingly picked up guilty gear and used potemkin which almost no one is using at a high level and is especially looked down upon at high level because he suffers insanely in some matchups overall. snake eyez consistently gets reads that even the best players in the world seem to fall to. people dont even need to see him win a random online set because they know in a tournament he is constantly a top 8 contender so even if they see him lose a random set online in a video they will always marvel at his play because it truly is a sight to see ESPECIALLY once you try a grappler for yourself. may sound like im sucking him off or somthin but really just trying to give you true insight as to why he himself as a player is popular and why his playstyle garners so much admiration
@@JimmiePitts Thank you SO MUCH for the comment. I do admit I made it seem like I was hating on him because of the "first round and he instantly pulls off two pot busters and Ky has 10% health left" but....EVERY character in GG has several people who uses them as mains and become so good at them that they can go up against the best in worldwide tournaments and win. I just wanted to know exactly why out of all Potemkin mains, Snake Eyez seem to be the one people are all hype for; which is also why I mentioned the now 3 day old video on this channel with him going up against a Bridget player and comments seemed to consist only of Snake's fans ;)
@@Keno_jm it sure did clear it up. As I mentioned you don't see many Potemkin mains, especially not in tourney's and apparently he was even worse before Strive. So being a person who manages to main and enter and WIN with Potemkin clearly says a lot, I just think that out of all Pot players, Snake seems to be the one who has people going the most nuts when/if he lands a pot or heavenly buster. And even though it's not(I guess since I don't play grapplers) an easy thing to pull one off over and over; being a big slow and cumbersome character to play in a high speed game like this where pretty much no other character plays like Pot, I do realise everything you mentioned about timed baits and bursts adding in to the hype around Snake
Potemkin Buster in 1st second of the round isn't there to win the game. It's there to show dominance.
the round start is like:
"Aaaaah the third Potemkin Buster, no one expec..."
I dont think he liked it 😂
I would have tried that too tho
0:00 Me when I fucking get you.
Dany the type of guy to expect the third Potemkin buster in a row
That first round was heart-wrenching.
Twas beautifu!
The spark really did roar
Audibly going OOH every time a buster hits despite such excellent outplays by Dany, killing it
Definitely. My favorite part was when they did IAD back stun edge. Some real next level skill gap

I noticed that while watching, actually insane
Garuda is mad broken
0:14 If that hit, it would've been hilarious
Good on Dany for not falling for the triple Pot Buster, but you're definitely right, it would've been funny
He HAS to go for it
.01 seconds in and Ky got turned into a Kiske Kat bar.
That last round buster off of heavnly fast prc for invincible wakeup was nasty af
Such great back and forth. I like that snake realized all that jumpin was an opportunity to bait out a free HPB

That first round was such excellent play by snakeeyez but dany is just built different
Snake Eyez is a monster. The matchup looks really painful with how good Ky fireball is but he still gets the win.
the MU is actually fine. one of the better ones for pot

Go play ky
Every mu looks tough until
The bust
Next level play for both of these players, absolutely insane set
such a sick set. both at each other's throats.

Potemkin : I beg your pardon?
