I don't think it's a bad thing to be a Luddite but it's not a popular view anymore. They might talk about the technical visual effects in a way that Treebeard would find strange or possibly even offensive.

So, I genuinely believed that this would be Pyrrhic victory for the Ents at best. So when he said "It's likely we go to our doom," I just started crying. There are certain moments for people where injustice and cruelty reach such a point where they can't "just let it pass".
Indeed. Though Saruman like Sauron before him never took the Ents seriously which was in both cases a grave miscalculation. ONE enraged Ent is a terrible thing to behold... Anentire army of seriously pissed off Ents on the other hand...
