Hey Chris & Megan. havent been on in a while, so Im watching this right now. I saw one of these reviews a while ago, but they didn't work on anything but 20 lb tanks. looks like they've updated them. very nice review.
I'm glad you mentioned that you remove it when traveling. I also have an open space below and am concerned about losing the sensor on bump. Good detailed review.
Thanks. The longer we have had them I’m guessing they would stay put but why chance. I will say we have had to replace one that quite working recently. Otherwise we like them.
You are absolutely correct that the propane seems to run out in the middle of the night. Definitely, the Bluetooth over the mounted gauge inside. We were wondering about leaving these on during travel so thanks for the info. Thanks for another great video.
A lot of people say they leave them on and they would probably be fine but we don’t move that often so taking them off isn’t a big deal for us each time.
I use those also. I'll use those as long as I have propane on my RV. I'd recommend even just for a gas grill. They make it so much easier not to have to guess any more. I like them most because I don't have to go out on in the cold and rain after finding a flashlight just to see if one of the tanks is empty yet. Usually when I'm thinking about checking the propane is when I'm on my way to the restroom and don't have a flashlight with me.
Well, i got one, entered the height of my bottle and was absolute crap. Had to lower the hight to 32cm (its bout 50) before it knew it was 100%. Now it works ok. Bit weird huh?
Iv had mine for over 1 year and both sensors quit. They are not waterproof and they don't stand up to harsh weather so back to the old Guage I go. The money I spent on this I could use to fill my tanks besides we go camping 4 times a year for a week and if one tank is empty I just switch and fill they other tank. One tank will last me 3 or more seasons anyway because we don't use it much. We usually have full hookups anyway. Maybe we travel long distance to keep the fridge going but then I can check on the road between filling our truck up.
Good tip and device. We have a switchover valve where it runs off one talk and when it gets empty it switches to the second tank BUT if we don't at least pay SOME attention I guess we could run out in both tanks.. And both tanks have gauges. But I do like the blue tooth on that unit.
We have these sensors and they work fairly well to give you an estimate but they are in no way accurate. Especially when a tank gets close to being empty. Then the readings are all over the place. We do like them though and knowing what to expect makes them a worthwhile purchase.
We got these in October of 2021, obviously we full time, did some cold camping in Idaho, Kentucky and so on and we just now ordered new batteries two weeks ago because they were almost dead. So pretty good 👍🏼
@@WhyWait , bad sensor, common problem. High battery consumption, not real reliable under 10 degrees. I love the concept, I'll probably upgrade the sensors to the new round puck style. I really want this to work.
Nope but then again just to be safe we take them off. They stick on pretty good and I don’t think they’d come off but it only takes a second to remove them. 👍🏼
@@mikeike7114 we move slower and stay stationary for long periods at a time. So we really aren’t doing it like every 3 days. I’ve travelled with them a few times now and they don’t seem to be going anywhere down there 👍🏼
I have found these things to be totally unreliable. At 1 moment it says full, the next it says empty. They have replaced 1 that just stopped working and it only works occasionally now. One of my tanks shows empty when it has been turned off and full. I can't rely on them. They've been a waste of money for us.
This won’t work properly. They do have different monitors for large tanks and different size tanks but if you just had a standard 30 gallon tank on its side this won’t work. And if that’s the case I don’t know how your tank is working properly that way either 🤷🏻♂️

Yeah we love them so far and you can set them to 20, 30 or 40lb tanks and I believe their new units can even be applied to the larger tanks.

Added these to our tanks last season. Absolutely love them.
Definitely a nice addition. Are yours still working good?
@@WhyWait Yes they are. Got them the middle of 2020 and all last season. No issues.
Love the sensors... we have had them for over 2 years and not 1 problem!
Wow. That’s good to hear cause others have chimed in and said they didn’t work. So far we love them!
Fantastic review and very informative as always, Chris. Thanks!
Sure thing and thanks! We’ve been happy with them. Appreciate you watching 👍🏼

Good deal! They definitely come in handy like you say. Nothing worse than late night cold propane running out.
Great info, never knew there was such a thing. Thanks for sharing this!
Sure thing. Great little product that adds some connivence. We love them!
Great video. This is what we need and we have 3 40# tanks so we need them. I hate that 2am cold call 😂🤣
Indeed. We talked about getting these for ever and now that we have them we love them!
Good information. We were considering a devise to check our tanks levels, like the Mopeka brand. Thanks!
So far so good. We love them. Just a nice added convenience 👍🏼
If I got sensors I’d definitely do these, but I run one tank at a time as well

Great idea going to check them out. Getting ready to hit the road, would love to meet up with you guys sometime.

We love them! Thanks for watching. 👍🏼
those are great, we want to get those. Especially the new flat ones.
Sure thing. They are great!!

We have the same switch and same deal here. They have gauges as well but Megan loves the accuracy and ease of checking from her phone in bed lol
Thanks so much - ordered.
Sure thing. We’ve been really happy with them.
If you upgrade to the new sensors they work even better I have traveled all over with mine attached even on an open Bay and they did not fall off
That’s cool. I’m assuming ours would stay put as well just figured why take the chance. Thanks for watching 👍🏼
Great Beautiful! Mashallah

Yeah it’s just great for the convenience of checking the tank levels and knowing when things are starting to get low. Appreciate you watching 👍🏼
Good information
Thank you sir 👍🏼
Should have disclosed first thing you didn't leave these on the tanks while driving.
How are the batteries running in them? Lasting awhile?
We got these in October of 2021, obviously we full time, did some cold camping in Idaho, Kentucky and so on and we just now ordered new batteries two weeks ago because they were almost dead. So pretty good 👍🏼
I noticed you have an upside tank. Do they work on horizontal tanks?
Upright
They do work on horizontal tanks and from what I remember I think the upgraded newer sensors work on that horizontal style better
Wish I had a good experience with Mopeka sensors.
That’s too bad, we’ve had a really good experience with ours. What was wrong with yours?
@@WhyWait , bad sensor, common problem. High battery consumption, not real reliable under 10 degrees. I love the concept, I'll probably upgrade the sensors to the new round puck style. I really want this to work.
Snow? Where are you at?
This was back when we were in Idaho in October. We left one month too late 🥶
Have one of the sensor fallen off when traveling down the road?

Thank you.for the review and reply. I bought these for my tanks.
@@WhyWaithi. Everytime you remove them, aren’t you removing/losing amounts of dialectic grease? Do you keep adding more when reinstalling? Thanks
