Nice job, bro. I installed old school vents from a LeBaron on mine. Don't it just break your heart to cut into a good hood? Lol. I had problems with TPS sensor and water damage, so I took the rubber distributor cover off the old style 5.0 mustangs and wrapped it over and around the throttle body and sensor. A little bit of trimming and some zip ties and it works killer. Consider that if you're on the beach alot. Happy wheeling.
Jeeps never had any over heating issues.. the temps before and after pretty much the same. But, the vents definitely let the heat out, faster cooldowns , less heat soak.
Makes a noticable difference if you're creeping along with doors off, there's a huge cloud of heat from the tranny that pools up into the cab, louvers alleviate it somewhat
Thanks for the link/tip on a 3" air cut-off. My angle grinder was proving unwieldy and was warping surrounding paint.
What beaches are you running on? You said dunes, so I am guessing out west? Here in NC, the outer banks are awfully flat.
Just a quick side note, cover your windshield with something. Sparks and glass are not friends.
👍✌️

Thanks, and thanks for the tip.
question how much water gets into the engine bay? what do i need to seal off?
Those look pretty slick...
Hi, great job. I'm curious about that: What is the engine temperature before and after the vents installation? Thanks AND greetings

@@Donnythelatemodeltech ok, but tour Jeep have a graduated temp gauge. What Is the recorded engine temp in your gauge before and after? Thanks ;)
@@caicaz it should always reach 210 no matter what you do. That the optimal temperature

Nice job I want to do this with my 93 zj
did it come with the screws ?
Did these make a good bit of difference on your XJ ?
Thanks for the video! Ill do one when i get mine on
Along with hood louvers i was wondering if any one has run fans i was thinking of running a heater core under one for extra cooling
I got a 14" fan in my cowl hood i built runs great
Man, great job!
My 89 2 door XJ runs hot.
I’m gonna vent my hood too.
or just take care of your cooling system 🤦
Does the bolts and stuff come with the louvers or is it just the louvers by itself
Came with all the hardware
@@Donnythelatemodeltech Awesome thank you
@@Donnythelatemodeltech Yeah man my xj overheated today and anti freeze went everywhere, it was boiling
I did this to my XJ and added a small electric fan to one of the vents to blow out the hot air.
Yo that’s smart as fuck, good call. imma wire mine to the factory fan that I already made a manual switch for
Also what is the bolt on kit because when I click on it, it doesn't load
Sorry about that, the seller must not have them on Amazon anymore, but still sells them on eBay. Here's the link. www.ebay.com/itm/171259750621
Jeep Cherokee XJ Hood Louver panel set by American Rock Rods (Black)
good job!
Just subbed.
I would have used spray paint, just some tape to hold it then paint the outline, since it is on the bottom nobody should really see it
