This office and table scene are just two circumstances that show Jack Nicholson is one of the greatest actors ever! You can almost feel his character's capriciousness.
Kendrick is such a despicable character for invoking god and honor after throwing his two subordinates under the bus to answer for crimes that he conspired.
The producers and writers of this movie wanted to insult white, faith based military men. In real life a person who believes in God, in the military, wouldn't lie and do 'code reds'. Marines that didn't believe in God would do this. I served with them. 😂😂
I like how they sit down and Kaffee says they need to ask a few questions and after Jo sasses him Jessup just dismisses them and is like "Nah you can go with Kendrick" Why bother sitting down it was like all of 30 seconds and 25 of those were discussing Danny's father 😂 Jessup: "What can we do for you?" Also Jessup: "Questions? No I'm all set"
Lt commander Galloway was treated so poorly in this film. Glad Jessup got his in court on the stand after that blow job remark and getting Santiago killed.
Historical context, there wasn’t no SHARP or EO back then. Because Jessup would be in a world of trouble after those words if they got out. However, back then they didn’t matter as much
There is something wrong with the editing here. If J.T. Walsh is seated to the right of Jack Nicholson, then why is he moving his eyes to his RIGHT at the end of the scene? What is he looking at?

"Since I am a colonel, I got to keep taking cold showers until they elect some gal president." Col Nathan Jessup aka Jack Nicholson. Sounds like he is describing Vice President Kamala Harris and soon to be the 47th president of the United States Kamala Harris.

LTCOL Markinson did his meeting prep and knew who Kaffee was but purposely chose not to brief COL Jessup. He wanted Jessup to dig his own hole.
When writers could write and people actually acted.
So, in effect, writers no longer write and actors no longer act? Is it all AI and CGI now?

Plus he starts in with the whole ‘Navy gives us a ride’, from a man who has mo combat experience.

This movie actually features some of the best actors in the industry! Cruise and Nicholson are living legends... and deservedly so!
The smile on Jack's face at 4:43(lol)
Nobody asked, but I just realized Jessep got the Navy Cross, while Markinson got the Silver Star
Just curious, would the uniforms have been sent to Santigo's family or would they remain property of USMC?
Cut to next scene, Kaffee wakes up and salutes Jo
It's criminal when a crappy ad for a product I'll never use interrupts a Jack Nicholson soliloquy.
I think it’s interesting that after all the posturing, Kaffee still didn't use the word "please."
He didn’t ask for please. He asked for some simple military courtesy and respect.

Hes right about the saluting thing
Jessop is in a different environment in Cuba he has to be tough
1:15 why would a colonel be at parade rest……..
I often wondered that while watching this, lol
The only time I ever saw officers at parade rest were butter bars
why were the soldiers that were marching past as they arrived, singing about country fried potatoes?

Oh ya good observation!
Maybe he switched places withe the other guy during the "you gotta ask me nicely" part offscreen 🤣
He's not looking at Jack Nicholson, he's actually following Tom Cruise.

*Demi Moore 😂
Charm
She offsets Kaffees character. Duh.
@@taj8231 does she? I must have watched a different movie.
She’s Kaffee’s foil. Terrible lawyer, slow-witted, but passionate and moral and wants to do what is right and good
