John was one of the best. Clean jokes by the standards of the time, no agenda, no politics, no real anger. It was a good day when you turned on the TV in time to catch one of his shows.
I miss him. He was hilarious. Rest in Peace John.

Besides being such a funny and talented comedian, the reason I loved John was you can tell he genuinely LOVED his fans. He loved to make people laugh.

He epitomized clean comedy. Rarely ever swore or was vulgar.
Died too soon. Such a brilliant comedian, didn't have to be dirty to make you laugh until you cry.
John was definitely one of a kind. It's really something how audiences warm up to him with his feigned innocence alternating with seething rage at the absurdity of life. How ironic that he died after losing about 100 lbs.
Between him and Sam Kenision there are no funnier people on earth RIP GENTLEMEN
He could have played the part of Ralph Kramden if it was brought to the stage or screen brilliantly, another gifted comedian who left the stage too soon.
One of the greatest, and most underrated comedians of his time.
To this day I still hear John yelling "YOU BEEN HERE FOUR HOURA!!!!" every time I walk into a Chinese buffet.
His scowl was a part of his act; his smile was genuine.
The delivery, the timing- John was a true talent. Rest In Peace ♥️
I discovered this guy after he was gone. I felt so bad - I missed such a great talent. He’s so funny. I look forward to meeting him on the other side.

John helped me through many battles of depression, And helped me get into comedy as a whole. I never knew him personally, but god do I miss him
I was truly blessed to get to see him live, and i nearly cried the entire time... only time I ever heard him drop the F bomb. He also passed away on my birthday, but instead of being sad, I watch a couple of his clips every birthday.
