It's because he had a very niche comedy style. A lot of yelling and 90% of his jokes were about food. He was very good at what he did but he only did the one thing (for the most part)

I only just discovered his material a few months ago, and he's absolutely incredible. It's a shame that I couldn't have been old enough to have gone and seen him when he was alive (I'm only 19 so he died when I was 10)
I truly wish I had heard of John while he was still alive. In addition to being a comedy genius he also had humanitarian values. "I'm standing up for all of us." When I watch these old videos I am torn between laughing hysterically and crying desperately. He could have helped us get through the chaotic terror we are experiencing now. The two we still have are Jim Gaffigan and Stephen Colbert. We'd better appreciate them while they are still amongst us.

2 days ago, I watched an old woman send back her Starbucks order because she hadn’t known that a “tall” was a small. She didn’t want a little coffee. So she had them remake her order while she sat at the window. The line was wrapped around the entire building. I started shouting at her in my head “get outta the line!” 😂
When fate makes you "big" like John, you can either cry or laugh. John chose to laugh, and we thank him, because there's a little of his pain, in ALL of us, that made us laugh -- WITH -- him. He had a beautiful soul. RIP.
A great story teller,a man with passion,gives the audience the full package,the story,the volume,the facial expressions the love for his career... Sadly missed but because of technology we can still enjoy his shows...

I was feeling sorta cocky the last time I went to Home Depot. I got my items and went to check out. "May I have your phone number please ?" the man asked. I replied..."Sir, I"m not that kind of woman". Poor guy...he just stood there, dumbfounded. It was silly of me I know...but I always have a little fun wherever I go. On a flight one time, as we were entering the plane...the young man asked me "Is this for business or pleasure ?" I very calmly looked at him and said "Well, I don't know yet...what do you have in mind " We had a blast on that plane. Life is short...leave a few smiles along the way.
I was once in a Sears to ask about sharpening my used lawn mower blade. "How much will that be?" "$18." I then looked at a bin full of new lawn mower blades, same size and type of blade I had: $8.50.
Same thing happened to me when I went to buy a new lock at the hardware store, the guy said "oh we can just pull the lock apart" which I had with me "and re-cut a new key" The price of a brand new lock which came with two keys was less than the price of getting a single new key cut for the lock I had

Maybe some blades are one use only, but all the small motor stuff me and my father have worked on, when a blade was dull or causing the tractor to shake a little bit, we'd take it to a local shop and get it sharpened for $8 a pop and the mower would be good as new
He is really good and very energetic in all his shows, still sad that his not here anymore. He can sing can imitate actors very interesting and intelligence is all over his stand up.

I use to work at a dealership and they had a girl that did nothing but sell clear coat and fabric protectant! She was making a 250K year doing it! This was back in the 1980's!
However he's talking about the stone chip shit underbody protection which is good depending on the area type of vehicle & or use. But most of them are rubbish and unlikely to be a wise idea. Along with poor application are likely to cause more harm than good.
So let me fully understand the reason for getting an extended warranty-the product is no good although it is new, engineered, and has a track record of some sort. If I buy it, and when it breaks (after the limited warranty expires), I can have it repaired or replace. Replacing it means getting another one that will fail. He should have added that no salespersons life was lost prior to the making of this video.
That is really sad. I have been a fan of his for years and was very sorry when he died. I was a bit surprised at how ill he looks in this performance, though. I never noticed this as much in other performances I've seen.
I remember watching him on some show or special waaaay back in the early 90s. I was laughing so hard my mother came in to see what was wrong, and within a few seconds she was laughing even harder. Took me over 15 years to ever see anything by him again, (I almost thought I imagined his Chinese Buffet routine) and I find out he's already gone.
I saw John every time he came to my town. After the show, John would come out to the bar and just hang out with people. He was such a nice guy, very upbeat & personable. I brought his DVD with me and he gladly autographed it for me.

I think that comedians who don't cuss are funnier than those who do.
It depends. If you cuss to make sure you mean it, it can be funny, but if you swear for sake of swearing, that is just bad.

Sevv9220 Just an fyi, this video is from the late 80s/early 90s, the user just uploaded it a couple days after he passed. Pinette looked a lot different in the time before he died. He had lost over 200lbs.
