    Hello, I have the Radiomaster tx16s max pro version 2.7...I'm doing exactly what you are doing with the same receiver. My issue is that while the bind is successful, once the TX is shut off and I go to power up my plane to fly, the bind is lost. Powering off the Rx and powering the Rx back on, the bind remains. The bind is always lost after powering off the TX and then powering the TX back on. I've used the 0 and different receiver numbers (even used 51 as you did) and still the bind disappears when TX is shut down. I only have 1 model entered into the radio so what's happening? Can you help?
    Thank you

    Thanks, RCVR....
    Very helpful video like all you do. I'm guessing that these ia6B units were so inexpensive because there was a hardware change around then. Looks like current models can now use 4-8.4v power (2s lipo) unlike the older ones which were 4-6.5v. For fixed wing this allows 20-30% more servo torque at nearly no expense. Wish it was clear if this is actually hardware or just labeling and spec sheet.
    All that said, these are nice little receivers at very fair prices.

  • @charlesjones5070

    I use flysky RX all the time. The PWM/PPM selection tells the receiver what to output on the main channels, use PWM for servos. If you want PPM for stabilizer or flight controller then select that option (PPM output is in CH1).
    The SBUS/IBUS setting tells the receiver what to output on the IBUS Servo port on the top (labelled in green). IBUS and SBUS are basically the same but inverted logic - again useful for flight controllers or stabilizers.
    Flysky also have a IBUS sensor inputs, you can daisychain standard flysky sensors (voltage, temp, rpm, altitude) but the best thing about opentx is it supports way more custom sensor data via the flysky protocol so flight controllers will report the full gps, current, attitude stuff too.

    • @RCVideoReviews
      @RCVideoReviews  4 года назад +1

      Charles, Thanks for clarifying. I'm familiar with PWM, PPM, SBUS (and I understand IBUS is FlySky's version of SBUS that doesn't require inversion on flight controllers). I thought it was odd though that using other combinations resulted in telemetry dropouts and jerky servo movement.
      Since I'm not using sbus/ibus/ppm it worked out. I may do a little more testing and reading to find out if there's something else at play because the Rx side protocol shouldn't cause telemetry issues.

    I had the wrong radio. Exchanged it for Jumper T18 lite and all was well. Had to change radio from Mode 2 to Mode 1. Not as hard and scary as I thought it might be. Took longer to disassemble and reassemble than to do actual conversion. Had to use PWM IBus for binding and to hold telemetry. All working OK except no voice for Throttle Safety and Aileron and Elevator dual rates. Flaps also a bit weird. Added some other voice commands from another radio but even though I can play them from menu in Sys. mode, they do not appear in listing in SF page. Your video was a great starting point. Also, I prefer setting up my radios on the radio and not using Companion.

    • @RCVideoReviews
      @RCVideoReviews  3 года назад

      Yeah, it's pretty easy to change from mode 1 to mode 2 on these. You can either swap the gimbals completely or move/replace the pin and spring. Glad you got it worked out. Try to spend some time learning companion. Once you get the hang of it, you'll never look back.

    Hey John, thanks for the video. When I connect one of my analog servos (Corona CS238MG) to the fs-ia6 receiver it didn't work well and it affects all other servos. Then all servos stop working after a few seconds. Is it possible to connect these analog servos with another protocol other than SBUS to work properly? Or would you recommend a solid receiver for the tx16s to run these servos properly?
    Cheers.

    • @RCVideoReviews
      @RCVideoReviews  2 года назад

      That sounds more like a servo problem or power problem than an RX problem. The RX only passes BEC power through to servos, it doesn't generate power. The only thing coming from the RX is signal. I would do two things: 1) Make sure you have sufficient power and amperage connected to the Rx. 2) Test each servo individually. Based on what you described, I doubt it's an Rx problem.

      If you use a number other than 00 when you bind, the radio will have to have that model loaded to command the receiver. If you use 00 as the Rx number, then any model that was bound with 00 as the Rx number will be able to send commands to the Rx. You use any Rx number you want. Rx numbers are shown in Companion so you can use that to keep them straight.

      You must use a different Receiver Number for each different AFHDS 2A receiver you bind. Re-using numbers will remove the binding for the previous receiver.

      The 5v rail should supply 5v regardless of the switch position, so I don't think you have a power problem. The switch changes pulsewidth on the signal line, not voltage on the voltage rail. You may need to find out if the led controller has a specific pulsewidth it needs to see and set that up in the radio.

    How to set failsafe for FS-iA6B on radiomaster tx?

    • @RCVideoReviews
      @RCVideoReviews  3 года назад +1

      You can always set failsafe options in the radio under model setup. Below the Rx bind options you should see a line called "Failsafe mode" On that line you can specify hold, custom (which lets you program per channel values), no pulses, or receiver. I haven't verified operation on the ia-6b, but if you set failsafe on the Tx to receiver, then you have to hold your sticks where you want them by pressing the FS/Bind button on the Rx. Personally, I would just use custom instead. Much easier to manipulate and change after the fact.

    Nice one - yep FlySky Receivers are really great value and work great with the TX16S, including failsafe settings and access to telemetry. I find the RadioMaster TX16S and FlySky IA6B Rx gets better range compared to using the standard FlySky i6 Tx (my i6 is modded to 10Ch via bojangles software hack) and the servo actions are smooth over the full range (using std analogues). Currently I'm waiting on a FlySky FS-CVT01 Voltage Sensor to arrive to add to the telemetry so i can monitor the flight pack voltage separately from the ESC derived 5 volts that you see as the A1 value in telemetry by default. For those who want to hack the IA6B to give a flight battery voltage directly there are hack videos and forums that demonstrate how to mod the IA6B receiver (ruclips.net/video/vUC08Ky5qr0/видео.html is one example).

      I looked at that voltage sensor. It looked kind of beefy compared to what I'm used to from FrSky.
