  • Gear Review | I have been using Nelson Rigg panniers for years now, and while I have tried other bags, and had access to even more, I still feel these Hurricane Panniers are the best choice, for me, and probably most people. The combination of quality, price, reliability, and warranty make them worth a serious look if you are considering soft panniers. - Frank

Nice video Frank. There will be a change in the future that will allow the large Naglene bottles. No dates known, but your large bottle complaint will be addressed.

Hello Kyle, that's great news. Honestly, it's great to see that Nelson Rigg is continuing to improve the existing products. The new mounting of the straps is very good improvement and supporting larger bottles with be a good update as well. - Frank

That's awesome! With the blazing Arizona summers, I carry the same bottles as Frank just to get a cold drink when I stop. That will be a great addition to an already great bag.

Good review of the bags Frank. I have a few of their tank bags and the value and quality are first rate. Great looking bags and the stiffeners are very useful to keep the shape of the bags. Nice the upgraded the stitching with a rivet, you should have no more issues. Always very professional and informative. Thank you.

Hello Dave, I am so vain... if they released a bag without the stiffeners, at a savings of $50, I would still buy the ones with them! The rivet was a GREAT idea. And Kyle just said larger bottle holders are coming! I like it when a company improves their products. - Frank

I run the Nelson Rigg Dual Sport saddle bags on my DR. They have a pocket that fits a one-liter fuel bottle in each. Perfect for my piece of mind. I see that they now have a Hurricane version of these bags but it looks like the pockets are gone in favor of the roll top design. Thanks for the review.

It must be nice to get all those new goodies to use. Some of us are using "That competitors" soft penniers you spoke of with the larger water bottle holder that you graciously sold a hillbilly. 😂

Hello Dave, we Northerners need to stick together! Always happy to do business with a fellow Yankee! The bags you have look great. They are the bags I recommend to all Scooter owners! - Frank

Just bought some of these. Great to hear about the warranty. Still trying to decide about the mounting plates.

Hello Jay, hope you enjoy the bags! I used to run Tusk bags, and still had the plates. I put my new bags on them a few weeks ago and they work well. I just looked, and they are very inexpensive. Thank you for stopping by and commenting! - Frank

Hello Murrae, keep an eye on pricing, they range from $208 to $225 regularly, and very rarely dip below. Thank you for stopping by and commenting! - Frank

I’ve had a few Riggs products and they are high value for money bags. Just too many straps for me.

Hello ATAS, I get that. Have you seen the dualsport rackless bags? They would never come off the bike as they seem to have endless straps! 😜 - Frank

You know you don't need anyone's permission to modify your bag to fit your needs. Look for a seamstress to fix the bottle issue or find a molle bottle pouch that fits your container. This world is what you make of it.
