Speaking solely as a Honda owner, I rarely find myself in need of a mechanic. Tire changes and gas stops are very frequent though. Glad you got ya bike back brother. Look forward to riding with you again soon. - Dave
@@OneOldManRiding oh I wouldn't own anything other than a real motorcycle my friend. I mean 1100cc's is all motorcycle unlike those smaller cc mopeds some people ride around on. 😁
Good deal Frank, I am glad to see you back on the 790 again, and fantastic that you didn't have to spend a fortune to get it fixed. You may want to consider having Mountain Motorsports look at the speedometer next time, it seems a bit off. 🤣😂
I watch your (and others) reports nervously. I have a Norden 901 that I LOVE for all the reasons you used to love your 790. The dynamics and performance is incredible on these KTM engined bikes. There’s a reason owners put up with so much. Personally, I haven’t had any issues with the bike. But I’m getting to the point I can’t trust it for travel. Are my odds for imminent disappointment really very low? I don’t know. But it’s hard to get that seed of thought out of your head. Oh well, here’s another biker prayer and I’m off on another adventure. ✌️
I have a Mountain Motorsports near me on Mountain Blvd. in Ontario California. (The original?) They run the same logo as your Tennessee dealer and are the nearest dealership to my home. I purchased a Yamaha Seca II from them 30 years ago and Suzuki GSX-S750 in 2021. They have served me well over the years. Glad you got the bike back and can now say goodbye.
Hello Matt, I have been in the Bucees once. Sure they have clean bathrooms, but as a Northerner, I am incapable of understanding the love for Bucees. Too many people, too long a line to buy anything! I do love eating at the Chop House in the Plaza near Bucees though. - Frank
@@OneOldManRiding I drove back and forth across the country last summer three times and stopped there each way. It's a Texas thing, still figuring it out myself.
Not covered by warranty, and this bike was not stored with the Honda and 390, it was 830 miles south in Tennessee. They found no noticable damage tk the cable, so not a mouse this time! The cable can be had for $68 on eBay, and $150 from KTM. Not a bad price. - Frank
When I purchased my 1090 back in 19' it sat at the dealer for a month. Nothing better than paying full pop for a bike and then not being able to ride it. In my experience I did not feel like KTM made me (their customer) the priority ... instead they were more focused on limiting their liability. IMO all of the manufactures operate in the same manner ... people just experience more petty issues with KTM , hence why the mediocre customer service is constantly being reported. 1090 has been great since ... for what it's worth.
Hi Frank, It’s me again. Watched your today’s video as you suggested and didn’t find any reference to the vibration aspect on long rides when comparing the 390 and the 790… Did I miss it somehow?
Well damn Alan, I cut it from the start for time. I try and keep the videos short. When I was doing 77, I said that if folks are looking to upgrade to a 790 to avoid the vibrations, we'll the 790 vibrates at speed as much as the 390. It's not the smoother engine you get from a Tenere or Tuareg! I was doing the same speed two days before on the 390, and IMHO there is little to difference! - Frank
All I have to say is that people who claim these issues are isolated is an absolute lie. EVERY RUclipsr that has one of these things has videos about it being broken. I’m so happy that I chose to buy a Yamaha. 0 issues. Fantastic bike.
@OneOldManRiding cool I'm waiting on my head and cams to be replaced at the myrtle beach dealer. Parts are goodwill still unsure about labor. 2019 adventure r with 11k miles. All service records. From what I've seen most 790/890 suffer from the premature cam failure. Really stinks because I did so much research in what middleweight adventure bike would be right for Me. Currently have a 690 enduro with 30k miles.
You don’t need a good mechanic you need a Yamaha!!!!!🇯🇵
Most intelligent comment I have heard today 🤣😂 Bravo!!
I have a KTM and I agree 100%.

It’s awesome that you found a dealer that is willing to work with you! Too bad KTM isn’t as good to the customers as the dealer.
It's a bad combo when you have faulty products, and support response times! - Frank
