This is not supported. You can suggest an enhancement on PTC Community.

I cant get a zone section to work on my assembly because I have some cables in there, a regular offset or planar one will cut it where I want, but that doesnt show up in a drawing that has isometric views, any tips?

Is there any way to add arrows like I would for a 2D section?

Yes. I have a video on the Creo 9 hatching improvements. I cover the old way in my original cross sections video.

Is there a way to create a zone like this that excludes a part or sub assembly?

Use an Offset Cross Section and from the Models tab you can specify which components to include or exclude. I have a video on that.
