Hey, what sonic game are you playing in the background? It looks fun
Despite having CGI characters, a lot of the special effects were made using practical effects and real props. Months ago Paramount published a video showing the behind the scenes of the first movie and a lot of scenes were filmed on real locations, even those scenes in the desert and Paris. The explosions were also made using real explosives.
The only CG fully location in the first movie is Sonic's home planet, which was also not filmed at all. So I imagine something similar here
If you make entire scenes just entirely in CGI it will just look like obvious photoshop, for one they normally adjust lighting based on how it hits the physical models. Black Panther couldn't get this right, Paramount has no chance without going the due diligence route. Additionally, it literally is how these projects create jobs and recieve tax deductions.
7:05 About GUN "mistaking" Shadow for Sonic, that's not entirely the case: They weren't confusing Sonic. Those bastards were framing him. Keep in mind that they knew about Shadow because they sealed him away after covering up the Arc massacre THEY caused. They would absolutely know that he was released from his pod when Eggman set him free. Project Shadow was an experiment they did not want the public to know about considering all the shit they did, so Shadow breaking out and committing crimes would be really bad for them. Sonic is the only hedgehog that resembles him (and has been shown to change his appearance aka going super and such) so they threw him under the bus in order to avoid their crimes reaching the public eye as quickly as possible. Government corruption. Yay.
Also, how is GUN going to capture Sonic if they failed at it in 2 getting beaten by two human with tech they had no idea how to use.
How do you think they could last again the person who knows how to use the tech and Sonic + Knuckles.

@@ccateni28 GUN becomes significantly more technologically advanced by the time the Adventure 2 story starts. But eventually this all ends up out in the open, because (spoilers for a 20+-year-old game) Eggman ends up in control of the ARK and uses it to blow up part of the freaking moon. Kind of hard to keep a lid on it all after that, especially since Gerald also reveals posthumously that he has a doomsday weapon that he created to get revenge on the government and humanity for Maria's death.
Not exactly, the oldest and highest person at GUN (GUN commander) didn’t even know shadow until he reappeared, as Ian Flynn said in his podcast thing “we have no idea how GUN operated back then” so it’s likely no one at GUN in SA2 even knew project shadow. Of course I’m talking about games perhaps it’ll be different in movies
@@ArkhamKKnight I think it might be somewhat different in the movie, because we already have some significant differences from the games, such as GUN and Project Shadow both being established on Earth and not on Sonic's world. So Project Shadow's purpose might even be slightly different from the games and there might still be people alive that know about it (Walters clearly knows about it, and his reaction in the post-credits scene suggests that he might have skeletons in his closet related to it). That said, I don't think Walters is going to turn out to be Maria's killer. But I do think we will find out who it is in the third film. And I think her killer will still be alive.

I personally think that while Shadow will try to kill all humans on Earth because of Maria’s death, not only will Sonic try to stop him, but he could also in a way to connect with Shadow because just as Shadow lost Maria 50 years ago, Sonic lost Longclaw a 10+ ago, so they would have a common thing between them. Also it would be interesting if the theory that a Watchowski killed Maria or if Commander Walters might have had some connection to the raid on the Space Colony Ark, maybe he even participated in it, in person.
I think I know who it is that did it. But I'm not going to say anything, because if I'm right, then I don't want people getting mad at me for posting a spoiler. But I'll say that if I'm right, it isn't Walters or a Wachowski.

Keanu Reeves and Robert Pattinson are far too expensive for paramount to hire for Sonic 3’s movie budget(which goes into location, props, vfx, cgi, and everything else that needs to be done for a movie to made, it’s not just for actors), so don’t get your hopes up about the ultra big stars acting in the film. Jason and Hayden are way more likely. As Hayden really only has Star Wars on his resume so his wage is most likely lower and Jason has only ever voiced in video games(as far as I know) so his wage is lower too. Which means I have my fingers crossed for Hayden or Jason. I am so excited to see who Paramount surprises us with. As Edris Elba was completely unexpected for Knuckles but punched it out of the park, so whoever they hired is probably going to be the same way.

A delay in live action scenes may benefit the movie. Or it may damage it. In the Classic "Street Fighter The Movie, the talking scenes had to be delayed in order to record the choreographics as fast as possible, because of Raul Julia's (as M. Bison) worsening health due to terminal ilness.
This resulted in all the actors having a lot better rapport with eachother, giving the movie a more fun casual feel that ended up as good as it is.
So if the human scenes were delayed in this movie, to be all added later with blue screen, that may give more time for the actors to develop their roles... or it may make things worse by the added time pressure... We'll have to wait and see.

I don't really think the live action stuff is "holding the movies back", but at the same time a better focus on Sonic and co. is exactly what an SA2 adaptation needs.
So, like, the freeze frame scenes are Sonic and Shadow using "their power." Does that mean Sonic was already using Chaos Control in 1 and 2?
When I was a dumb kid, I took the lyrics of City Escape to mean that in an early version of the story, Shadow tricks Sonic into teaming up with him, and it's the two of them wreaking havoc together, like, "oh no Sonic's fallen in with a bad influence" type stuff. Maybe something like that? idk I'm ignoring all leaks and promotional info except when I'm high lmao

I am really surprised how few leaks there have been so I guess Paramount is really cracking down and being more carful. Sonic And Shadow teaming up makes since because that happens in Sonic Adventure 2. We also need the Shadow The Hedgehog voice actor announcement soon.

Hey just wanted to let you know im still watching much appreciate the breakdown the lessend use of funny mic was nice btw noticed you used it a bit more in the second half but at least in the first half it was predictable regaurdless I can also just appreciate you doing what you over what comments say
Anyone who thinks the movie is getting delayed needs to calm down, it's coming out in DECEMBER and were only in March. That's plenty of time for the live action actors to wrap up their scenes, and for voice actors to record their lines. The teaser itself confirmed that yes Paramount is not budging from that release date nor do they want too. Remember they put their flag down at a time when an Avatar movie was occupying the same spot. They've been that confident in this movie so I can't see them getting scared now. Because it's in December though it means no one should be expecting trailer type of stuff until like September at the earliest. We could get the announcement for Shadow's actor and other things sooner though, and we might even get stuff after Knuckles has wrapped up.

There's nothing inherently wrong with the human characters but I think the second movie showed that that the writers didn't have anything for Tom and Matty to do after the first movie

Shadow & Rouge use to work with Eggman in SA2 Battle, since they have their own goals after they turned against Eggman & they have Omega as a new member of Team Dark.
Eggman & Metal Sonicwas Temporarily with Team Dark in Sonic Adventure 2 if you played the game like I have.

What i think is going to happen is: The only reason they mistook shadow for sonic is because it was night while he stole the emerald and you can only see the outline of him and they have only seen a hedgehog like sonic before so they obviously think its the same autism creature

So hype for this movie! What are y’alls predictions for the end credits scene for Sonic 3? I am personally hoping for Silver, but I’ll be okay with Metal Somoc (Both characters need a little love when it comes to story importance anyway). For Silver I think the end credits scene will have Sonic and the gang helping GUN clean up the mess from the final battle, they’ll either find Shadow and GUN will take him, or just GUN will find Shadow and take him. The gang will reminisce about Shadow, and foreshadowing his return, and the camera will pan up and away as the trio keeps talking, and the it will settle on Silver standing on a building much like the opening cutscene from 06 and he’ll say “I finally found him, that blue hedgehog.” (I say that as I don’t know if they’ll go for an 06 like story or be that obvious about the story if they did) for Metal’s reveal it will show sparks flying then stopping, the sound of a rolling chair’s wheels moving, then pan to Robotnik complaining about Sonic, and then revealing Sonics quill still contained. Show Robotnik rolling over to something holding his quill, and then saying “Well that hedgehog won’t get the best of me, this time!” With the camera still panned on his face. We’ll see him place the quill inside something and the camera will turn, revealing Metal Sonic, and the last shot being his eyes turning on, and a jolt of blue electricity around his limbs. With both red iris’s lingering for a moment after the screen cuts to black, also Robotnik will be laughing this entire time.

3:12 No no no no no, i'm going to stop you there for a moment to point out this is NOT Ugly Sonic. This is _Beta_ Sonic. Early posters showed this early version of Sonic with another lead actor. Notice how his hands aren't white like Ugly Sonic's are, and his face has a more cute appeal, not as humanoid. He also has the tan belly, not the light blue that Ugly Sonic had.

Leaks can be real or not, I really hope they find a good choice soon of who will be voicing Shadow. (I heard somewhere that they aren't confirming a voice actor for him to the public because they haven't chosen one for him yet,) Doing that can be hard especially because of how many different actors the fans have been asking for, and it's still a mystery about if any of those fan choices will agree on doing it, or if they are too busy with being in 1 or more different other films. So far at least that while waiting for that and other info, we can try to stay pleased and satisfied by reminding ourselves about the fact that the most highly wanted song from the Sonic games to be in it, (Live and learn) will be playing at some time in that movie because the Crush 40 lead singer confirmed that a deal for Paramount to have the rights to that song truly was made!
I feel like they have hired Shadow’s voice actor and just want to surprise us, as Ben Schwartz just started recording for Sonic 3 and if Shadow is going it’s have the same or similar amount of screen time as Sonic in the film, than it’s weird for them to not have someone hired yet when the main character has started recording. (I say this as someone who does not know how many weeks it takes to record voice acting for a movie like this)
I doubt it will take that long to record voice acting lines. Especially since this is made by professionals. What I don't get is why they're only getting one voice actor at a time? How come they didn't get Colleen and Idris to come in to record lines yet? They'd be speeding things up by doing that? Plus it'd be more natural if everyone was together to record so they know how they're characters are meant to interact.@@adventurekitty101

I don't know why people leak information. It always ruins things for the folks working on these movies by making them do more work to mare rewrites or change things up so that the audience is surprised. Can't people just fucking wait for official detail releases? Goddamn! Anyway, as long as the end movie is on par with the previous two entries, I say they can take as long as they need to get it right. They NEED to get Shadow right! None of that "edge lord" bullshit he got saddled with unfairly.
