@@ConcordeTH that's not what happened. Christian Whitehead is a professional gamedev who worked on it the android ports of the classics. Companies rarely ever hire fans, because developing a game for fun isn't the same thing as developing a commercial game for a big company.

That could be interesting... Since Sonic games are meant to be replayed to mastery, a competitive live game that hosts new levels on a seasonal basis could actually turn out really well. They could change up the play styles, have unique gimmicks, have multiple playable characters, and even ruin it all with scummy microtransactions! 😃

I really like the idea of more sonic mobile games just I hope they get regular updates and have more replayability. It took 2 months for Sonic Dream team to get a major update witch is too long. They should do more updates that are smaller so that it gives incentive to play to game every few weeks.

I just watched a Portuguese 550 Ti test on Sonic Frontiers, that makes sense considering Intel HD 4000 runs it too. But the 550 Ti is normally 1GB (2GB version exists), so that means-NVS 5200M can actually run it! Albeit probably with a potato mod that removes textures completely, leaving monotone polygonal structures to remain. DX11 is surprisingly benevolent.

I'm not saying it'll be an easy thing, far from it; but I've seen emulation for a number of things on phones and on pc you can emulate a phone as well; so it makes you wonder if it's possible to have phones emulate/pretend to be another phone for downloads?
I'm presuming the store doesn't constantly check what phone you're using once you downloaded it.

Unreal GOOOO!!! Well, at least UE5 has DX11 so Sega isn't forced to use DX12 or Vulkan. DX11 allows down to Tesla hardware, they can support a GTX 280 if they wanted.
I've been saying that a chao garden game on mobile phones would be a great idea to do for years. Even if it had micro transactions and ads, no one will ever complain.

Honestly, I don't think it would make much sense to reboot and _then_ remake so I was scared at first when it accidentally sounded like the opposite was gonna happen.
If I can put 2+2 together, I can easily see the shooting elements of that JSR being that of the police, trying to take down the Ruudies. Kind of an asymmetrical style multiplayer game.

While it's nice to see series like JSR, Crazy Taxi, Super Monkey Ball, Golden Axe, and Virtua Fighter, I really hope we see Phantasy Star, NiGHTS, and even Space Harrier (say what you will, a modernized Space Harrier would be sick) get some love. Phantasy Star Online 1 would be nice as a remake or remaster.

Although I don't really care about mobile games, it's interesting to know that SEGA is trying to reach for the mobile market.
Definitely not something I expected but considering how strong they're going right now, it might actually be a really good move to introduce new people to Sonic&co.
And yeah, the chao garden being on mobile seems weird but emulators like bluestacks exists so it's not a big deal in my opinion.
I feel like live service works as long as there's no initial entry fee. Devs shouldn't expect us to spend hundreds of dollars on cosmetics for full priced games.
