Rashid comes across like a character that NEVER wants to stop moving. His biggest threat comes from his ability to just play around outside of your range, and get in and get out over and over and over. He doesn't want to duel with you, he wants to avoid you entirely and just make your life miserable. I think people are too used to playing him as just like a Wind-Shoto
@Substantial-hf1rm Then you're not paying attention to what I said. Also you're spending too much time charging your fireballs and trying to pretend you're a different character.
Im actually really glad max talked about having some trouble with rashid. I picked up rashid and had a blast the first few days, but actually ended up feeling like i was getting hard stuck at gold 5 with him, while i hadnt with anyone else earlier. Rashid really feels like you have to understand so much about him and what he wants to do in every situation and how the math works out on every version of every tool just to hang with folks still not really doing more than the basics. I was a little frustrated with myself, but knowing he was rough for someone *actually* good too, actually makes it easier to get back to trying, even if im not currently getting it. Real fun character, no matter how good or bad he ends up being.

I feel you, Ryu and Ken I have a hard time with but I can handle, a good guile with solid fireball pressure just does not let me get the mixups going and kills my momentum.
Yeah as a Rashid guy from 5 the loss of his mobility really hurts. He still has mobility tools but they are all of the locked behind a set up move. Anyone who doesn't let you do the set up locks you down hard. In 5 I would roll under fireballs, jump ins just roll and valt and generally be annoying because I wanted to fluster the opponent and control the pace. I've noticed the few games against Rashid I have played go either really well or really poorly. Funny. This talk reminds me of Rashid status in SFV season 1 when he wasn't very good, John Takeuchi took a couple good people here and there, his corner pressure was good but damage was low, etc...Then Capcom overbuffed him in S2 and he became a MONSTER.
As a Lily main, yes no consistent anti air makes this game miserable at times but combine that with no invinsible wakeup and I question why I main her it drives me insane I don’t understand why her EX uppercut with the charge wind isnt invinsible
I got him to plat recently, so it's not like I'm high level or anything, but I feel like Rashid isn't a cheap character anymore. When he dropped i got him into Gold just based on knowledge checks, now I feel like half the time I'm baiting knowledge checks. For example, when setting up a cyclone from full screen, flip through it to get into grab range or jump forward to get an overhead instead of the mixer or eagle spikes which everyone is usually ready to defend for. Once you're using more options other than the ones that seem objectively good, you start having more control over the game.
I am honestly shocked that the vertical mixer special comes off as inconsistent to Rashid players. Granted, I did not play a ton of Rashids so far, but those I came across seemed to destroy my jumpin attempts with that move just as easily as in SFV.
What makes it so inconsistent is putting it up against the amount of other stuff you have to be looking out for, and knowing against who and when to use it. You can't just throw it out to safe yourself in a pinch, because characters like Ken will stuff it right back down your throat.
They tell you right there on the character select that he's HARD to use effectively in this game. All of that is by design, and I'm glad for that. You could one or two button him all the way to the top in V, and to be perfectly honest, I didn't get very much joy out of my wins with him back then because of that.
Mixer is legitimately one of the most infuriating anti-airs to use. It having no invulnerability outside 6 frames on the OD version is freaking ridiculous.
Fuuuuck when you said "this is for the specialist players who will create a million mixups in training mode", I as a Yoshi main in SCV, said "Hm, maybe that could gel with me". Then you just straight up @ me. Guess I'm playing the tornado man.
even after day 1 i could tell that he was a knowledge check character with some whacky gimmicks, not that he's a bad character at all, but people were primarily struggling against him because they had no idea what the fuck was going on. he's definitely a "niche" character
I play Ken, and man, eagle spike is so punishable people so it full screen and I’ve got time to go downstairs, make a coffee, play with my dog, then walk up and combo them for 40%
I'm not high elo by any means, but I was dreading facing Rashid when he was released, but within a couple days, I stopped losing to him entirely. As a Ken main, I found it very easy to deal with him.
I also gave up on Rashid, it feels like he is relying on gimmicks too much and most of his mixup/pressure is all vulnerable to reversals if he commits to it, for example with arabian cyclone/charged tornado oki. if someone is consistently DP'ing you everytime you try to do that (which they well because the startup is so slow) he feels really bad to play. I'm looking forward to seeing pros develop him further though.
Really curious to see what AKI is gonna be like. She’s a poison character so if she’s super good she’s gonna be a pain in the ass to deal with lol plus she’s got some of that wierd ass movement that FANG had which can make her even more unpredictable
I have fun with him, but goddamn if he isn't the most technical character they have right now. I feel like Rashid's whole game plan is to just stay on the offensive as much as he can. As long as he's attacking, he has mix-up potential, that's why parry beats him easier too.

4:12 that I agree, vs fireball characters that don't let you charge it to full, Rashid suffers. Other than that I disagree a bit, Rashid has pretty good pressure, he gets in for free a lot of the times and has plus frames out the ass. The anti airs though, my God, feel terrible to correctly read someone and still lose
wow max called rashid the yoshimitsu of sf6!!! dats A SUPER COMPLIMENT!!! uhhh ohhh looks like ima unlock sf6 rashid now instead of later yall are in trouble see yall in the battlehub
Don't take maxs word for it on this specific topic cuz Let's be REAL max doesn't play more complex or simply anything outside the normal like charge characters or more characters that are not time consuming to learn like Rashid he always plays really straight forward types overpowered unga bunga or keep away projectile characters and ALWAYS TOP TIER characters.
Ya i found his ability to deal aith projectiles painfully bad. Also agree with the anti airs.i have fun playing him but def also makes me in more frustrated than alot of the roster.
I think its just gonna take time for people to really "capital L LAB" Rashid. People have been playing other characters for months, Rashid players have to play catch up.
Im sorry but letting this game rock for a year when you have characters like guile juri jp and luke in the game is just bad faith. They are obviously broken to the point where we are going to get guilty gear syndrome, only seeing 5 characters in tournament and that will kill this game like its killing strive regardless of how many fanboys showed up to evo for its tournament.
Ken and Lily existing in the same game in their current state is laughable. Capcom did say they were open to looking at individual characters outside the big balance patch hopefully they do.
He has no overhead that's plus on hit unless its drive rush. Until I can convert something from an overhead, low blocking and tech throwing rashid will just forever counter it as well as all the other things mentioned here. He's really fun but he should have more range on some hits and an overhead.
@itstaeday except rashid is the only one telegraphing it. Look at Kens dash in overhead. Doesn't have to be overhead, rashid raw DR is always gonna be grab or overhead otherwise it won't convert well without burning out.
It's good because the hitbox hits on both sides. But it's bad because you can be hit out of it on start-up, which isn't the case for normal DP's. Which means against characters with good jumping normals, it's not reliable.
@valeoncat13 A good rashid player wouldn't let them jump in that deep to begin with. So I guess it just a skill gap. I ain't gonna hold you I do feel this as a rashid main but whenever I lose it never because I couldn't anti air it literally the player just being better than me.
Yea I honestly don’t think he’s that good. I’ve been maining him since he came out and i only keep playing him because he’s super fun. But he has a lot of weaknesses: stubby normals, bad anti airs, meh pressure, low damage etc. He struggles in higher ranks, but I’m going to stick with him just because I really like using him.
His OD Spinning a Mixa is bugged. 100% bugged. Skip 10:45 max does it and hes hit out of it IMMEDIATELY. 5 FRAME INVINSIBLITY MY ASS. Its completely random if the game gives you the 5 frame invinsible start up.
For two obvious reasons: Rashid was VERY strong in SFV, so the assumption is that strength would be maintained in 6. And people had 2 whole months to train against the entire cast and learn counterplay. They only had 10 days to figure Rashid out. And if you didn't learn enough in that 10 days, you can EASILY be scrubbed out in pools.
Rashid more than any other character fucks himself over with all those chaotic movements every now and then. And i love how in character that is
Listening to the commentary here, I was kinda thinking that too. He's a bit more hype than substance but can do so much he's just gotta keep trying!😂

Lol i still haven’t even bought him yet 😂
Ya i found his ability to deal aith projectiles painfully bad. Also agree with the anti airs.i have fun playing him but def also makes me in more frustrated than alot of the roster.
Take a look of players using him with Modern controls. It’s crazy
O really? That's not good...
Lets go!
You’re too used to playing top tier Ken lol
Que manera de llorar 😢
Justin Wong has the best Rashid ive ever seen
Haven't use Rashid yet bc im trying my best to become god tier with Sim..I'll give a update in 2 years😂
I like that the DLC is very gimmicky
@MaximilianDood_3 go home and be a family man
Well, Max doesn't like Rashid because he can't play him like Ken lol.
Commenting to see if the bot will tell me I won something.
Beep boop you won a competition
TheSupeu Evo 2023
He's no ken that's for sure
❤️❤️😭😭
Rashid feels nerfed without his SFV theme
So rasheed is basically a tekken 8 character, ok
Ya hes aighg. I just need Akuma now.
I think its just gonna take time for people to really "capital L LAB" Rashid. People have been playing other characters for months, Rashid players have to play catch up.
Yeah he will get better but don't know if he's top tier, might be a cammy situation tho
I agree, but I don't think labbing will make up for his wack normals
Thats like every overhead lol..
@itstaeday except rashid is the only one telegraphing it. Look at Kens dash in overhead. Doesn't have to be overhead, rashid raw DR is always gonna be grab or overhead otherwise it won't convert well without burning out.
My man max drop a character cause he couldn't anti air damn. His Hp mixer is his best anti-air.
Thank you for using the actually good Rashid theme
Yea I honestly don’t think he’s that good. I’ve been maining him since he came out and i only keep playing him because he’s super fun. But he has a lot of weaknesses: stubby normals, bad anti airs, meh pressure, low damage etc. He struggles in higher ranks, but I’m going to stick with him just because I really like using him.
He will be fixed soon
Hey max did you know that I’m dead by daylight they added alien and Ripley
@MaximilianDood_3 sorry I meant in dead by daylight and wanted to let you know big fan and I know you are big alien fam
@@josephgonzalez8063That is a bot you responded to
Try playing him and I realize that I suck with this character just saying and I main Chun-li
His OD Spinning a Mixa is bugged. 100% bugged. Skip 10:45 max does it and hes hit out of it IMMEDIATELY. 5 FRAME INVINSIBLITY MY ASS. Its completely random if the game gives you the 5 frame invinsible start up.
So why was everyone crying about Rashid being in Evo?
For two obvious reasons: Rashid was VERY strong in SFV, so the assumption is that strength would be maintained in 6. And people had 2 whole months to train against the entire cast and learn counterplay. They only had 10 days to figure Rashid out. And if you didn't learn enough in that 10 days, you can EASILY be scrubbed out in pools.
2 week Rashid was still better than Ryu, Lily and Honda.
