This aire exemption could be a game changer. Well done the Highland Council for supporting ventures like this.

We stayed at Croila Croft in our motorhome 4 days after the aire opened. It’s a great facility that will only get better, we were lucky enough to be parked at the beach. We’ll done Ruaridh for setting this up, thanks to Cameron for promoting aires and thanks to CAMPRA for the support they give.

Good on the fella for putting in the effort and recognising the benefits of motorhomers to a local economy. The goat was worth the watch all by itself.

Great stuff Ruaridh another great step to Scotland becoming a trailblazer for camper/motor home stopovers. Kudos to Cameron for driving the issue to the fore!

There's also the Silver Fjord hotel, which caught on the right night is a great laugh, I remember as a lad having a few cracking nights with either the shinty team or some local musicians, taking instruments off the walls and getting a gig on. I remember camping alongside the Spey, and wandering along to the town for a cooked breakfast in the morning. Great place!

Well done Ruaraidh! I wish I’d had the opportunity to drop by his aire, back when I was on the road. What a fine fella.
And watching that kid desperately appealing for his affections was utterly charming… and highly amusing! :)

Thanks Cameron, I hope many more will follow suit, ( keep finding them 👏🏻) we love visiting Scotland and like many motorhome owners we have struggled to find sites. We are walkers and cyclists and prefer the smaller CL and helping communities by using local facilities. Love the goat and dog comedy sketch 😂🤣. Yorkshire lass.x

    Hi Cameron,
Superb facility I’m thinking, as a motor homer , a cyclist , Walker and most importantly an angler could you give more details as I’m heading off in two weeks for an adventure, basically a phone number for the facility which I could call and ask about fishing availability.

Good on Ruar, you'd struggle to meet someone more passionate about Scottish tourism and making people welcome & what he can't tell you about the area isn't worth knowing.

Stopped at this site cycing the NCN7 route. it is abysmal. I was heading for Newtonmore but the campstie there is now shut. I had a look at the website and this shows photos that are not on site and does not show that the site is behind a major large noisy electric substation. I dont mind a minimum of facilities. There are no facilities except a charging point and a less than clean toilet with only cold water. I got very little sleep in a site sandwiched between a railway and station with trains running late and a buzzing substation. it might be okay in a large motorhome with all facilities on board and sound proofing. I would not reccoment this for anyone in a tent

I think the giveaway is in the title - it's a motorhome aire not a campsite.

I would have been thankfull that this facility was open and came to your rescue after finding that the one you intended to stay at in Newtonmore was now shut.
