- 🇮🇳 Moreh is a town on the border with Myanmar. A town that is built on the smuggled exotic wood that has been cut from the endangered forests of Myanmar. I went there to have a look around...

Those expensive teak woods are all from Kabo Valley in Burma,but that Kabo Valley was once a part of independent Manipur..It has been gifted to Burma by Jawarharlal Nehru,the first prime minister of independent India after the British left India....

There are so many travel channels and endless vloggers and I really do enjoy watching lots of them, but this channel really is something special. I find myself pausing the video so many times throughout to see whats in the frame because he is in places which are so hectic and with so much going on, its easy to miss most of it. I really admire what you do - I would love to travel exactly like you do, it's a dream!! Venturing out to the 'real' parts of the country of travel to see authentic residents and living, properties, ruins, places of worship, architecture, meeting and making acquaintances/friends along the way, staying in all types of accommodation, not just well known brand hotels, it's so amazing!! And your ability to speak different languages! Really impressed with your Hindi and knowledge of India and the other languages you speak. Actually, teak is not totally illegal, there is a fixed quantity people can import. The real smuggled goods are gold, precious metals and stones, drugs from Laos Myanmar and Cambodia.

A while back I did SEO for a website that sold teak furniture so I had to do quite a bit of research. One of the reasons it's so expensive is because it grows very slow, has a high natural oil content, it's very dense so it holds up very well over the centuries. I hear there are some teak benches in England that go back to the 1600's

This video feels so genuine....Despite the fact that every place has its own bright and beautiful spectacles you cant say there isn't any bad about it.Yes , India has many underdeveloped places where people live simple and pleasant lives in their own villages without bothering about the world and the fact that their actions are actually bringing bad things .Moreh is also one of them..If you try to study India every layer has another layer of complexities and depths amongst all that is the people most of them oblivious and simply following orders..I'd say the higher authorities most of the times fool the public to portray something wrong as not wrong or they simply allow them (indifferent) for the sake of their own non involvement and appeasements.This video kind of highlights the ignored playgrounds of India..Your vids open up the insides and ignored parts of the world and are really entertaining at the same time..well Love them.waiting for more💖

Its hard to say he definitely have confidence and experience that shows through, what I could find about is that he went bankrupt with a bookstore in Brighton ( therefore channel name) and he have a long history of traveling before his RUclips channel became popular. In March 1993, he went on a backpacking trip to India, flying into Delhi’s Indira Gandhi Airport for what was decided to be a one-month backpacking journey, but became so interested in Indian culture that he lived there for four years and opened up a small hotel. So he know the culture and people, but maybe he was in the military when he was very young like 18 years old, he is 49 now so was 19 in 1993

In the 80's and 90's every city in India had a "Burma Bazaar" where you would get smuggled electronics goods (Rolexes 2nd or 3rd copy at best) where you could also get ripped off but you got them at a fraction of the price you would pay in an electronic store if any. This was before India liberalised economically and the Burma bazaar in Moreh is pretty interesting. Even today in India you can get your carpenter to make furniture for you and one of the expensive option would be Burma Teak

charcoal is mainly used to warm up mostly than to cook...Manipuri after dinner like to sit around charcoal lit pot with family. Do visit Kangpokpi and Senapati and Mao gate area and meet Kuki people and Naga People of Manipur.
