  • This video gives you a look at the popular Solo Studios and the Studio Lounge on Norwegian Prima. These are great cabins for solo cruisers. They are 94 square feet and feature a studio lounge community space for solo cruisers to meet each other and hang out.
    I stayed in Studio 13539.

    As a single woman I love to travel and many times I do it alone and this is a great alternative. Years ago I paid double occupancy for a cabin. This is the way to go now for me. I’ve seen other videos about the “studios” but yours it the most detailed and inspiring. You pointed out things others hadn’t noticed. Thanks for a great video. Happy travels!

      Unforunately, for many people paying double the cost for a studio is not feasable. I would have thought they would not have done this as it is aimed for singles, so what is the point if people have to pay double the cost for a small space? It would be better then to pay for a inside cabin if people are going to have to pay double!

      Hey, I am doing the solo and I did the solo balcony and then Started to check in on the prices and on the bliss you can get a family balcony or whatever you can pull it up and they go by they start out with the pricing per person to throw you off but then once you get in it goes per cabin, and I have noticed that for the solo balcony cabin, and then you can get just a cabin that sleeps for for the family or whatever yeah it’s only $150 difference for the same cruise same day and I’m like what the heck I thought the whole point of doing the solo was so that you weren’t having to pay for two people but that’s not the way it’s turning out I mean why are you gonna get? I’d rather get an inside room that’s a lot bigger than the solo big deal you have a little teeny area that is called your own but really you’re better off just paying 150 $200 more and getting a bigger inside if you’re gonna be inside but even the balcony I mean people are just seeing oh solo and they’re automatically assuming that they’re not having to pay for two people and that it’s cheaper. Yeah people do you research not not with Norwegian they are taking advantage. We are not getting a break at all at all and shame on Norwegian for doing that because they just say solo cabin. The inside solo cabins are like on the blister like 99 ft.² and you can get an inside cabin. That’s much bigger than that for the same price, so follow through and check your pricing and watch what Norwegian is doing. You’re not getting a break at all. norwegion is charging the same price for the studio balcony cabin as they are for the family balcony cabin. It’s like $150 difference on the Alaska cruise in May and the one in October but I checked it and if they’re gonna do the balcony for the solo and charge the same price make it, Haven, give us the access to the Haven restaurant and the Haven deck but you’re not basically they would say what you’re paying you have to pay double because you have to pay for two occupants it well no they’re doing they started out like I said per person so people just assume that’s what they’re charging per person but then as you go into finishing it goes per cabin per state room and you were paying the same thing that someone with four or two the whole thing was about it should be half the price I mean that was the whole point. Now they’re gonna charge the same price that they would for family of four then make those Haven cabins, but shame on Norwegion for not being transparent because no matter who goes everybody has to pay the taxes and have to pay the port fees so when it goes per cabin, that’s for the cabin itself that doesn’t include your taxes or the port fees, but I can tell you one thing I’ve done nothing but cruise Norwegion, but if they don’t make this right, then they can forget about me ever cruising their cruise line again I will start venturing now and checking out other cruise lines everybody that are solo travelers do you research and we need to come together on this and make Norwegian make it right and I have already contacted my travel agent through Norwegian and I want to hear what kind of cockamamie crap they come up with to justify charge in the same price

      @@babybunnies It seems you are confused about how this works. Solo cruisers normally pay what is called the 'single supplement' (or extra payment) when booking any type of cabin OTHER than a solo studio cabin. These studio cabins DO NOT have the single supplement, which is why it is the cheapest option for solo cruisers, and it is also the reason why this category of cabin was introduced in the first place...so that solo cruisers could save money. Therefore, there is NO "double payment" for solo studio cabins.

    Many people seem to think one needs an apartment on a cruise ship to be comfortable. How much time do they plan to stay in this one spot? There is more than enough room here even if a couple were able to book it. I think it's a fabulous space!! Thanks!!

I would recommend trying to upgrade if you are booking a studio. Just make an offer and they will most likely give you a better cabin.

    Love it! I've stayed on a few Norwegian Solo Cabins on Breakaway and Bliss. The layout was a toilet along in a closet type space, shower in middle of living room which left every little room to turn around or bend and the sink was in the middle of the room, small and so the water would fall on the floor. This is much better! Question, did you shower with the door open for more room or close it?

    • @InTheLoopTravel
      @InTheLoopTravel  Год назад +4

      I liked it. It felt like my little secret space. I tried to shower with the door open, and you can for sure, but it was spraying a little bit of water around the room. Thanks for watching!

      @@InTheLoopTravel Thx for sharing. On another video, the presenter mentioned to leave the shower door open for more space and my thought was that the water would spray out. As long as it was roomy in the shower. I'm a large guy and had a hard time showering in the older solo cabins. I could hardly turn around. Since I had a spa pass, I would sometimes shower there before dinner.

    I have never cruised. To be honest, I am a weirdo loser who hasn't been able to take a vacation since his childhood (And I am 45 now.), but I am considering trying a cruise now and the one where Norwegian Prima goes to Bermuda and stays there for 2 days is at the top of my list, just because I like the idea of having all that time to actually explore a place. The thought of just having like 4 to 6 hours at a port seems lame and anxiety inducing to me. I don't have much free time, but I do have a dysfunctional thing where I can only enjoy free time if I have a lot of it and don't have to hurry anything and I know how fast and frustrating 4 hours can be over, especially when you are seeing a place for the first time and first need to find your bearings and figure out what to do.
    The reason why I write this comment here under this video is that I would be a solo traveler, if I did it and so taking one of those solo cabins would be the most sensible thing to do, but I am still considering dishing out the 7000 Euros for a 2-person balcony cabin, as idiotic as that would be.
    It isn't about the space. I wouldn't mind a small, cozy cabin. That might even enhance the "I'm on a ship."-feeling and atmosphere, but the reason why I am considering a cruise in the first place instead of some all inclusive resort on land is that I want to see and experience the sea.
    It is depressing that they don't give you that option as a solo traveler unless you pay double for another non-existing person. I'm not like those women who recently made the news several separate times by demanding aircraft be made bigger to accommodate extremely obese people though and I accept the realities of economy and technology.
    I guess I'll just have to cough up the money. It is just that this might be the only cruise I ever take in my life, if I end up doing it and I don't want to diminish the experience and having my own balcony to just sit and enjoy the ocean view and the breeze at any time, even at night, seems important to me.
    Looking at statistics on divorce and young people not dating and getting married in the first place anymore and all that, I bet that sooner or later the cruise lines too will have to expand their offerings for solo travelers. Would be a bummer if I'm just too old and too late to take advantage of that otherwise horrifying societal trend.
