    I love that they added this in the new edition. I love coop/solo modes and I think this serves as a solid foundation. I can't wait to see where it goes from here, and would love to see more videos on this!

      Give it a little play and you will be hooked. Takes some time to get to grips with but play it how you want and don't worry too much about the finer details

    I agree that there's room to make KT work in a wider scope narratively.
    I will definitely give Acolyte a go.

      For sure. Give acolyte a go. Just play a simple game to begin with

    This opens up potential to bring some multiplayer rpg style gaming in.

      @@killteamsix6 I think it's a great step. I have friends who are RPG players who enjoy the lore but don't really want to buy a bunch of expensive minis they have to assemble and paint. This kind of play, however, would allow them to enjoy the game in a narrative format. I think that the more ways there are to play, the more people will be able to get into it.

      @randyping6036 true. It can be used for elaborate campaigns as well as one off taster games and still include the lore and different teams with different play characteristics. Thanks for the support

      Great, have fun, the brood brothers rules for the patriarch is a good place to start.

    I appreciate finding out about Acolyte as I'd never heard of it before. I'm really hoping for/looking for some narrative stuff with Kill Team, whether official or not. I'm completely ignorant, so will Acolyte be updated or need to be updated for the new edition?

    • @killteamsix6
      @killteamsix6  22 дня назад +1

      I am sur that acolyte will be updated. It will need small core rule updates and slight changes to some of the characters and enemies. It's actually perfectly playable as is, or take the bits you like and add to joint ops.

    I’m really curious to see if someone adapts the Ashes of Faith campaign to work with this solo version. I would love to play something like that.

      I'm sure it wouldn't be too tricky. Just use the right stats and maybe add a dice role to decide if demons level up etc.
      It wouldn't be the same as playing with another person. But would definitely be better than not playing at all

    My first thought when I heard they would be including a solo mode was of Acolyte. Although I don’t buy the big boxes so I will miss out on all the details of this unless GW releases a digital version of the rules, from what I have seen I think it may be a bit too generic. I agree with your statement that each faction should have unique reactions. I look forward to your next venture into Acolyte or some combination of both the new KT with Acolyte card style events and encounters.

      If you already like acolyte, then carry on with that. All joint ops does is simplify things and make for a much quicker but ultimately less involving game.

    How well do you think do these rules work with the ITD terrain?

    • @killteamsix6
      @killteamsix6  22 дня назад

      Having played acolyte, which is much the same principle, it will work very well.

    Get one of the books that GW stole from, like 5 Parsecs from Home.

      Keep meaning to. Might just do it now.

    How many games of joint ops did you play before reviewing this mode? You don't seem to mention things that came up during actual play (what worked great, what didn't).

      At the time, I'd only had the book for 2 days. I played one game but have played lots of acolyte, so I was using that experience to look at these rules. It's a much simpler way of playing than acolyte, that does mean that games will be easier to set up. But the lack of an event deck, etc. will not make it as exciting, though. I hope that gw provides more depth over time so that I don't need to do it myself.
