Im starting to realize how i never had any symptoms of diabetes despite being so high from this video. I have 1 kidney since i was a baby. Always drank about a quarter of a gallon to a gallon every day, depending on what i was doing that day as my childhood doctors hammered it into me "drink water!" When i was diagnosed, they tested my one kidney and its STILL filtering so well its like i habe 2. (The other one was taken out at 9 months old. )
I really wish that continuous glucose monitors also measured hydration! For me personally - I can see my fasted glucose as 30 points higher than fully hydrated (bringing it well within normal). Also some individuals, especially as they age, are not as aware that they are dehydrated!! Caffeinated beverages such as coffee can accelerate the effect also.
Thank you very much for all the effort put in all your videos. Very clear and helpful information. It definitely helps me understanding what is going on and what an important topic it is. Hope you will continue this channel. You really do deserve a big audience if i compare the quality with some of the bigger channels
Excellent, detailed, informative. Maybe you should fill the whiteboard completely… and teach from it. Rather than having us wait while you (carefully) write . You know what our attention spans are like these days.
I tryed to drink 1 extra litre of pure water and measured my blood glucose every 15 minutes for 2 hours. so In 30 minutes my fasting (for about 30 hours by that moment) blood glucose (in evening) grew from 6.2 to 6.5 and no longer changed for the rest 1.5 hours until I went for a walk. so, all other hormones (cortizol, epinephrin, growth hormone, glucagon) work faster then water dilutes blood and they keep the level your body need.
thanks for the informations. my experience in chemo is my cortisol increases and im becoming insulin resistant. seems chemo like to increase blood sugar & i cant understand how could it treat a cancer or tumour. it creates a lot of inflammation too. even fiber becomes inflammatory inside n out.
So why is it that when I'm dehydrated, my blood glucose tends to read _lower_ than it does when I'm fully hydrated? Also, if I'm overhydrating in a hot-and-humid environment, it can take as long as 48 hours before my body releases the excess...

Very important message... being dehydrated promotes Insulin Resistance or prevents insulin from doing its job
