Should Everyone With Type 2 Diabetes Go Low Carb/Keto
Просмотров 8 тыс.4 года назад
The low carb/keto diet is all the rage at the moment, especially in people with type 2 diabetes but is it for everyone? While it can provide benefits in the short term we need to consider the implications it has for the longer term. If we focus too much on losing weight and keeping blood sugars down we might be losing sight of other aspects relating to your health, increasing your risk of other...
Fructose & Type 2 Diabetes

In this video, I talk about fructose, glucose’s brother. Both are monosaccharides (single sugar molecules). Glucose is considered mildly sweet in comparison to fructose, which is very sweet. Sucrose (table sugar) is a disaccharide (two sugar molecules joined together). One glucose and one fructose joined together is about as sweet as sucrose. Where is the Fat at?

Processed and Refined Carbs | Type 2 Diabetes Education with The Diabetes and Health Clinic.
Просмотров 2,4 тыс.4 года назад
In this video, we talk about processed and refined carbs. You’ve probably heard the terms whole foods, processed foods, and refined foods before-but what exactly do they mean? The term processed basically means the food has been altered from its original form. This may be from grinding, milling, baking, roasting, frying, or canning. During processing, the food’s nutritional value may be comprom...
Inflammation, Oxidative Stress and Antioxidants | Type 2 Diabetes Education.
Просмотров 6 тыс.4 года назад
In this video, I discuss how oxidation is a normal process that occurs in the body as a result of different chemical reactions. Think of a piece of fruit. As it ripens it becomes sweet and edible - this is as a result of normal oxidation but left too long and it turns brown and rancid - this is a result of too much oxidation. Free radicals are unstable, angry molecules because they are missing ...
The Livers Role | Type 2 Diabetes Education with The Diabetes and Health Clinic.
Просмотров 4,8 тыс.4 года назад
In this video we look at the liver's role in type 2 diabetes. Your liver is like the back-up battery for your body. It holds onto glucose in the form of glycogen for times when you may need it to prevent your blood glucose levels from dropping too low, such as during endurance exercise, sleeping, and fasting. However, your liver can only hold so much. When there is excess glucose in the blood a...
The Glycemic Index and Type 2 Diabetes. Diabetes Education.
Просмотров 2 тыс.4 года назад
In this video, we look at the glycemic index and type 2 diabetes. Understanding the glycaemic index is crucial for anyone living with diabetes. A food with a high GI is readily broken down in your stomach and absorbed into your blood, so it will make your blood sugar levels spike more quickly; food with a low GI takes longer to break down, so the sugar is absorbed into your blood more slowly. I can agree with her explanation of Type 2 Diabetes, for mostly this diet works for those who have this issues and others, which most people have because we have a poor diet and sick. I have to add, we are not all the same metabolically so I would say learn your body according to your metabolic and adjust what works for you….. This explanation make lost sense why most people don’t lose weight. Thank you for furthering my understanding in wellness.

Keto diet doesn't mean you're over consuming fat. Keto diet means you're not consuming much carbs at all. If you consume the right amount of fat for your body to function properly why would it store anything? Keto is wonderful for losing stubborn fat, avoid glucose cravings and spikes, exercise longer, and so many things. I personally do not follow keto anymore, not plant base low fat anymore, I've tried to follow this for decades and that's what led me to cards addiction. My diet is now a mix of both keto and plant base.i guess. But overall I' m now happy to eat or not eat, pick type of food depending on my body signals, I can consume sugary stuff in moderation, and move on with life, it was close to impossible before I did keto. So in my casse at least, it sure helped a great deal with restoring a happy and healthy lifestyle and better understanding of nutrition. Thank you for the video, highly explanatory, think I can better understand many things. 🎉

Im starting to realize how i never had any symptoms of diabetes despite being so high from this video. I have 1 kidney since i was a baby. Always drank about a quarter of a gallon to a gallon every day, depending on what i was doing that day as my childhood doctors hammered it into me "drink water!" When i was diagnosed, they tested my one kidney and its STILL filtering so well its like i habe 2. (The other one was taken out at 9 months old. )

Conclusions Ketogenic diets improve insulin sensitivity through their irrefutable effects on fat and weight loss. Besides weight loss, KD produce direct insulin-sensitizing effects which are mostly due to the capacity of its restricted-digestible carbohydrates content to lower blood glucose and insulin levels. In addition, ketone bodies appear to be able to influence insulin signaling directly. ...

I am nearly 53. I consider myself somewhat a healthy male. I love cycling, averaging 50+- weekly and I have pre-type 2 diabetes. I was on the entry metformin that my docctor prescribed but after some research, I decided to not continue and further try to flush out as much bs as possible with diet, tea, and exercise. But I'm stuck between 120-160 give or take daily. What is the secret sauce household item for metabolic production and getting rid of this "zombie" cell? Please respond as I've tried apple cider blends with the black and chili powder and cinnamon. Some videos say that a once a day trick or home remedy can bring bs levels down to normal in from days to weeks. Is this true? or are these video's just candy to sell a product? I love all greens, only drink coffee water and tea, sometimes a beer but I stopped all packaged foods as best as possible. Please help me rid the plague of zombie cells and high bs. Thank you so much for the intel, very informative. :)

You guys forget that lactate activates the glut-4 transporter thus helping glucose absorption into the cell (without the need of insulin!!) making exercise a key factor in glucose management.
