I'll say it again, these should have been rewards for completing new scenarios. Which would make them rewards you can get at any time, boosts engagement and refreshes a feature already in game!

just a little tip i found; if you turn off your internet connection and do a little ✨time traveling✨ by changing your device time, you can still get the old rewards

Thanks for that. I imagine that means the files are installed in the update (if you can access them offline) so that means they can just be liberated from the game files by someone with the skills to do so (not me sadly).

You can't get it anyway? I didn't play for a few weeks and I still managed to unlock all the items from week one. Didn't even have to log in on consecutive days.
that cas trait should have just been in the satisfaction rewards store. there are literally other traits you can buy there that make you learn skills faster like 'night owl' or 'savant'. the trait 'beguiling' in the store will be useful for the new romance pack i guess.
honestly the whole traits system needs an overhaul but that's another conversation for later!
They need to give sims 6 traits again for starters.

The sims team does NOT understand their audience 😭 their most active players don't log in once a day, they might play for like 72 hours in one sitting and then put it down for a month straight before they come back. I have 7k hours in this game and I was LUCKY to remember to login enough to get all these rewards. In a game that's so dependent on customization, hiding items behind a timed event will always be anti-player in some way because it arbitrarily limits customization. I like simsie's idea to just have them not be timed, so if you log in 5 times, you get 5 items period. Ever since they went free to play, they've been incorporating more traits of live service games into a single-player, mostly offline gaming experience, and it just feels like a fundamental misunderstanding of audience expectations. And in an attempt to "reward" their most active players, they've created a system where those exact players may very well needlessly miss out

I play daily.
I don't know anyone who plays Sims everyday other than content creators. I play this game since 2002, always did it like that even as a kid, played 7 hours straight, then didn't touch it for 2 weeks. It's not a game that you can play for 20 minutes a day and exit, because you wouldn't do anything. Maybe your Sims could make dinner 😂 The idea to not make them timed is way better of they really want them to be this way. Once I was going to bed and then remembered that I had the last day of the week and have to redeem the reward, so I had to turn on PC in the middle of the night just to click twice, like some idiot, and I'm adult, most kids would have to ask their parents (mine wouldn't care when I was a teen, but how many of them are like that?), if they say that they can't turn on pc then it's done. I hate timed events. They exclude so many people, younger ones, working, disabled, people who have to share PCs with family and don't get to use them that much..
So true. I have almost 10k hours but I mostly play in one sitting for an entire day or two and then maybe pick it back up like every two weeks or so 😭😭 and also, do they not factor in things like illness and real-life emergencies???

@@kristystevens5773 no, no it really doesn't lol. I doubt youve ever played the sims 4 based off of this comment. I couldn't even play last week, and the week before it I could play but couldn't type anything. (Which, by the way is apparently difficult since the sims 4 requires a fair bit of typing.) on top of that, the amount of bugs we've had from packs YEARS ago is insane. Seasons came out in 2016, "enhancing" the gardening skill and adding flower arranging yet the gardening is still bugged, years later. This is solely a problem with the higher ups and not really the developers.

The thing that really sucks about this limited time thing is if you’re someone who doesn’t play regularly AND don’t stay on top of sims news you could easily miss this like I did

i absolutely LOVE the compact bar, i always have my sims as chefs and i hate always spending money on the “prepare food/drinks” task, but if you have a bar you can make 4 waters for free and it completes it so I really appreciate the compact bar for small kitchens 🙏
Idk if it works for that situation but for party goals and holidays, quick meal drinks from the fridge and drink trays like from backyard stuff are life savers. Could be worth trying :)
A note I don't know if she'll mention (or noticed) You did not have to log in specifically during the item's week. I got the first two and then completely forgot to log in at ALL until the start of week three, and was able to get all of the items. That changed my opinion about the whole thing a lot tbh, but I still wish there was no time limit.
Honestly the login rewards have made me want to play the sims less. As another commenter said, FOMO isn't the best way to get people to play your game. The best way would be to fix all the egregious bugs and add things players have been asking for for years.

Agreed, sometimes I've gone months without playing the game simply because I encountered some annoying bug that just drained my will to play the game.
Yeah, I was holding back on buying any new packs for like a year, but now I decided I simply wont support EA any more, especially the Sims 4. Instead I reinstalled Sims 3 again and got lots of nice mods and CC.

My thing is this: Daily log in works for games like gacha games because that's their pull. Limited time things w/ limited availability. That's how they get people. I think for a game like the sims if it's limited that feels...bad. The Sims is NOT a gacha game (or at least it shouldn't be), and so this format sucks for it.
exactly. even for some of them they have certain things without a time limit and you're rewarded for just logging in and every x number of days you get a bigger reward
I think it’s also the fact that it’s not a free game. Free games tend to do login rewards because logins are tied to their ad revenue. That doesn’t make sense when the sims if you own all the packs is over $1000
And the fact that a huge part of the sims is sharing builds, so exclusive items are against some people's core game experience. I wouldn't mind at all in an MMO set up where people could tour my house or visit if they're in my guild. But in the sims they have to download my house to see it.
EA needs to make all the early access items available again in their own pack. Maybe if people get an EA subscription or something? I know they won't give it away for free.
Oh, maybe thats why I don't get all this commotion - I'm just so used to gatcha games... Literally login in every day of the month in the Hoyoverse app :'D
Also it works for mobile games because your phone is litterally in your hand all day, bored on the train or bus stop…open your phone, bored on the break at work, open your phone, can’t sleep and looking for a time killer, open your phone. Takes way less effort then booting up windows/mac/console for the Sims. Mobile games also rely on the ease of opening them in your free time. Like Sims is a time sink (and that’s every version) if I am planning to play Sims (assuming it doesn’t crash or have issues) I have a few hours to get lost in it.
I’d really love a video that looks at maybe *all* of the time locked assets we have ever had. Like the Sims Sessions things or even plant sim and skull collection things that we *technically* can still access. Thanks for your thoughtfulness in these kinds of videos!
A suggestion I guess: they could make a reward once you hit a certain number oh hours in the sims. Like say you reach200 hours, you get a new radio, and it works for everyone once they reach those 200 hours
I think it would be a good idea if it was set up like a advent calendar. But instead of it being daily, you just get the next item each time you log in on a separate day!

It's not though, the person is saying there would never be a time limit on it. You need to log in X number of times to get X number of rewards, but that could be on X consecutive days or one day each month, doesn't matter. Everyone still gets the same things.
@@cwingg I mean w out time constraints, like if there’s 10 items, you could open the game 10 days in a row to get them or 10 days over the span of a month. Idk if that clears things up

the timing of the rewards was so bad. i logged in the first day and got my first award and then my sims game broke for a few days due to the maintenance in the EA app so i missed like all of last weeks rewards :(
APPARENTLY if you have to switch devices the log in content doesn’t follow like owned packs do.

I think it doesn't need to be consecutive logins. I've spent like more than a week without Loging in the game between the second and the third item and I'm getting them just fine, just beginning week 3!

I've still been able to get them? I didn't start logging in until a few days ago and it just progresses one more each day. I think I'm currently lacking the last three, but there's plenty of days left in the event for me to just open the game each day to do so.
I'm sooo glad for the people uploading the stuff to the gallery because I can't afford to fix my laptop any time soon, so I can't log in every day. I felt sad because I really wanted the mini fridge
Oh my goodness ! I had no idea about the rewards being stored locally ! I would definitley have lost them as I am saving up for a new PC ! Thankfully I watched this !!!!
Protip! I tried changing the date on my MAC and it worked I got all the rewards in one sitting
They patched that exploit out a while ago, unfortunately. Those who'd already used it kept those rewards but it doesn't work anymore.
@@FirebladesSong I did that when I wrote the comment, so I got lucky! But it didn't work with last week reward, but 7/8 in 15 minutes is still a good numer and I can still get the reward later, because the option is still there

Thank you, Kayla! I had no idea the stuff wouldn't transfer automatically when installing the game on a new computer. And I need to get a new computer next year. It would've sucked to start playing on a better computer only to realize that I've lost that trashcan and mini fridge. ❤
by the way, if you miss a week you can still catch up if the event is still live. but you can’t if the event is almost over based on timelines.

Exactly. It's testing free-to-play live service mechanics for the next project. Rest assured,this will only get worse.
I have another half hypothesis that they're, trying to gauge if they can sell the sims 4 to a different company.
I could see it going two ways, if they don't want to maintain thr game, and they expect sims 4 to tank. They would do a lot to make the game look busy by releasing free packs etc. drives up numbers for a contractual observational period.
It's not a likely theory, I admit, because maxis just sits on their IP indefinitely.
It's probably just wishful thinking on my part, maybe someone better will buy it.
Any company capable of buying a franchise as big as The Sims would see right through this so it wouldn’t be worth investing the manpower and money to do this if want they want is to ultimately get rid of it. The Sims is already a brand with selling power so they could get a good price for it anyway so there wouldn’t really be much need to ‘cook the books’ I don’t think.
Less about fan reactions, more to show daily player counts to investors they're wanting to back rene. They'll now have the data to say "x number of people played sims 4 daily for y number of days in a row" which is a metric that is useful for mobile games which are free to play with tons of microtransactions. That's often why those games have daily login rewards - the more invested you get in the game, the more likely you are to become their next whale spending fortunes on pixels.
EA's previous free to play online/mobile games for The Sims haven't done all that well. So they're trying to show that if they make a main title game free to play, the current players will fall for the microtransaction pipeline.

As someone who plays daily and only has basegame and plays on console this was exactly what I needed and it’s so helpful so im glad they did this because like you said these are all things that people who can buy packs already have but people who only have access to basegame now can have them too and even these simple things have made playing the game more fun and gives me something to look forward too when playing it, i really hope they continue to do this.
I hate that these events aren't made with timezones in mind. I start playing at 6am CAT, the rewards come in at 1pm.
The re-skin of the money trash can is massive to me. I always want to use the money trash can but it's suuuuch an eyesore and clashes with so many room aesthetics
It's also around 10 times as expensive too so u need to work for a while for it and then u need to use it for days until u get the money back that u spend on it, but bills, food etc. r still there
The reskin is also way cheaper than the eyesore can. About 1/4th cheaper. The basic nanocan is 1200 simoleons while the much nicer looking reskin is 300 simoleons.
and it's the only trash can that slots AGAINST the wall instead of dead center in the grid
honestly the fact that it has a lid on top is my main reason for using this trashcan from now on.

I would love for Kayla to do a poll to see how many of her followers have no packs, how many have 1-5, 5+, 10+ etc. bc I always feel like she overstates the amount of people who play base game for 10 years.
i think that's going to be inherently skewed because if you're active in the online community and subscribed to a sims youtube channel then you're more likely to own packs because you probably dedicate more time to the game than the average casual once-in-a-while simmer. also, not everyone has been playing for 10 years. 16 million (!!!) people didn't download the game until it went free-to-play and that was less than 2 years ago
Yeah, I was gonna say, maybe I'm an outlier but I didn't start playing until last year. And I definitely don't have the money to catch up on everything. So I have like... two or three packs/kits? But also I watch a lot more sims content than I actually play the sims, so I dunno!
I think it would be interesting to see the results of that poll because I'm not actually sure how it would shake out! It could be kind of surprising, but I'm not sure which way.
Either way, making things limited pack/base game IS technically going to be accessible to more players, so I get why she does it. But I don't think it needs to be a heavy focus because there are definitely so many people with them all! And I don't usually care personally if people use packs I don't have. I just like to watch! Love seeing their creativity in builds.
Also I think it would be skewed if you were trying to get a picture of sims players as a whole. But really you're just trying to get a picture of what Lil Simsie's community is like (to see if she's "overstating" the amount of people here who don't have packs like OP said).
Could even add in an option in the poll of "doesn't play the sims at all" because I'm curious how many people are just watchers. I was for quite a while!
Idk, I've played for a long time and bought my first two packs in the last 2 months, i only have seasons and cats&dogs
I only have the packs that have been free at some point. And that was also a limited time opportunity for those of us who can't afford to spend money on the game right now.
With the new trait I actually got it in the first week of the event, cause when i aged up my toddler sim into a kid with a birthday cake it was just there as one of the available traits to pick so thats cool

If you want to reward active players, it makes more sense to have permanent unlockable assets for time played. 100 hours a t shirt, 1000 hours a new bed and dresser, etc. They’re always available, and it’s way more accessible for your average sims players who does binge gaming on the weekends instead of daily logins.
oh so if you pc dies and you can't recover it, EVEN IF you manage to get all the rewards, you'll lose them permanently... sooo I hate this even more :D
imagine paying to play a game that punishes you for not playing it every day (cause let's be real, the majority of players bought the sims 4 before it was free)
Lol, my PC died at the start of the event, and I was ironically playing the sims.
@@Chella972 no because i had my desktop bluescreen when playing sims, had to get a repair disk and everything. literally we couldn't find anything that caused it, unironically the leading theory is that sims messed something up. my PC is a beast, i can run far more impressive games no issue, and then blue screen from sims 4. never had issues before all of this.

@@marieangels6 i shouldn't have to go through all that effort when they could make it account attached like any reasonable person would expect, not to mention you can't exactly plan ahead to know that a computer is going to die and plan on transfering that data. EA is being irresponsible here, that's not really a debatable thing. If they have accounts for user data, that is where they should store awards, same way they store purchases.

You misunderstood the trait, there was a pop-up that said if you keep doing the same type of activity day after day your skill gain is higher. So not just all in one day, you would have to try painting every day and see if that makes a difference
Yeah, and it's not for each individual skill either. It improves the GROUP of skills: Creative, Mental, Physical, or Social. So if a sim practices painting everyday, they start learning it half as slowly, but over the days will improve up to a max of 180% (1.8x as fast as normal). But if they then go and start learning the piano for example, that skill will immediately benefit from the 1.8x speed, since it is also a creative skill.
At least, that's what it says on the Sims Community page about the event rewards

I've used it for a Scientist building a rocketship and the effect was immense. It is perfect If you have legacy challenges or Sims with lives that will not hustle three days to max. the skill but go to school or work in between 😊
Yeah, Lilsimsie failed to read the pop-ups about the trait and completely missed how the trait works. I played around with the trait and love it. Maybe if she tries it again, she will see how good it actually is... but it's her, so... who knows
See no because I was just hoping this morning Kayla would mention this. This isn't a mobile game. I feel especially that entire traits getting locked is really weird imo.
It is WILD that the unlock status is stored locally.
The reskinned money trashcan that comes with the mini-fridge for 1/4th the simoleons is probably the best items in this. Also the 1 tile bar is so nice.
But this event has been a disaster. Some people still don't see the event.

Yeah I'm one of those people. Removed mods and cc, repaired my game, uninstalled and reinstalled, and still nothing.

Just wanted to say that UI Cheats also allows you to assign the "Practice Makes Perfect" trait to a sim, even if you haven't unlocked it ❤
I'm glad I watched this video. I read somewhere else that these items were stored on our hard drives instead of our E.A. apps. But I'm glad you showed us where these items are stored and how to back them up.
Personally I have no problem with things like the dart board having a base game recolour because no one is buying Get Together for the dartboard. If they made another College and added it to base game maybe I’d have an issue with it since people buy University for… yknow, university, but adding the mini fridge is a non issue. You get me?
I do wish the nanocan 2.0 still had the small light. It let you know when you could throw another item away. There's still a delay between items but now i gotta guess lol

As someone who sucks at logging in during a certain time period, I just want to throw it out there that as long as there are 8 days or more left in the whole event, it will still let you get previous rewards. Its still one per day, but they aren't just limited to that one specific week.
I'm certain that this will not turn into a battlepass system and EA will be very kind to its player base.
At least in Fortnite you get more Vbucks back than you paid if you fully unlock the pass, whether EA would do that is another matter…

i think at this point its too late to change the sims 4 monetization THAT dramatically but imo the sims 5 will almost certainly have some level of subscription service
This is definitely not to get players used to logging in daily to earn Sims 5 game currency to play, and then buy more of when you inevitably want to continue playing before your next daily allotment

If you have UI cheats, you can right click Traits and see Practice Makes Perfect. I saw it there before it was unlocked. So, that may be one way. Don't know about other mods to unlock CAS or the BB items (though you can just download the BB from the gallery).

I'm honestly glad you covered this, because I had no idea about the compact bar, despite claiming it...I need to start using that.
And console players can back those files up. We also have a user save file in our saved filed settings, and it's easy to back up
I’ve been playing sims over 20 years, but binge play for 2-3 weeks straight, then have to get back to really life for a few months typically. Expecting my first baby soon so I’ve been busy prepping for that, had no idea this was happening!
i'm really hoping they'll make these available in like 6 months for everyone. i wasn't able to play because my computer won't boot up the game which isn't even my fault but ea's (like, my app isn't working) so i have no chance of getting them. also the local save is idiotic. i play on laptop that will die eventually
Yeah. My pc is working well but I still gotta get a new one next year since it has windows 10 and it can't be updated to 11 for some reason
You can literally swap over data from your hard-drive to a new computer
If you have a PC turn on one drive. It backs up the folder that ea uses. You just have to let it delete temporary files semi regularly (i think usually gallery files), but that's ok as long as you have the bandwidth for it.
Even if you don't mind the system right now, you SHOULD consider what precedence this sets going forward
I will say, they do have a little leeway in the sense that I didn't hear about this until like week 2 had been half way through. And I was still able to get week 1, and logged in everyday until I caught up. You can essentially wait until the last day, but you would only get 1 reward. You won't be unable to get week 1 rewards in week 4
One note is that you don't/didn't have to log in each week. You have to log in eight times throughout the event, and they unlock week by week, but you don't have to get week 1 rewards during week 1. I agree with you that the time-limited nature kinda blows, but at least everyone has the whole period to get the rewards.
The compact bar is nice for tiny living because if you want to host parties or events you need a bartender or they give you the "make 3 drinks" goal
I've logged in and had all the rewards (that I could open at the time), but then it's reset itself TWICE, so I have rewards that are locked that I already had unlocked. Today, I just claimed the 3rd one for the 2nd time. eta: I have only used this computer, no other files, no changes on anything.
no yup that's been happening to me too- I've never gotten past the first week because it keeps resetting
@@clairemar2647 Ok so, I goggled (I'm on PC) and while I don't think I can link here, if you google search "Sims 4 login reward unlock in INI files" the top link is for a github unlocker. It worked, I have everything unlocked now and if it breaks again, I have a way to restore it. I hate that they're doing this and the way they're doing this. I bought ALL of Sims 3 back in the day, including all the sims 3 store stuff. I own all the Sims 4 everything so nope, I feel GOOD about 'cheating' this and telling others how to as best I can. eta again: DO copy your current file to a safe place FIRST, then follow the instructions just in case! ^_^

Base Game Quick Meals that would make sense in a vending machine: Chips, Animal Crackers, Cheese Crackers, Off-Brand Soda. Garden Salad and Slice of Cake makes no sense. Chicken Nuggets make even less sense since that's a MICROWAVE Quick Meal!
I just had my finals then two very stressing weeks of work, I saw the updates but couldn’t log in daily (i’m not super super active on the sims but i do play quite a lot and if it hadn’t been during this specific month i probably could’ve logged in every day) and missed out on the prizes :( happy you talked about that issue because I also thought it would be permanent..
It is so dumb that the items are stored locally. Hopefully they change that so then if someone gets a new computer they are still able to have the items.
The thing is they didnt even do what they were meant to do, which was incentivize me to play. I'd log on for the reward, and then log right off. Bc I dont want to play right now, Sims. I will play when I want to?
Especially with players that use mods. I have a ton of mods to make the game actually playable, and I've actually been playing less bc to get the rewards I have to disable mods, close game, reopen game, then get the reward. And if I want to actually play, I have to then enable mods, close game, and reopen game -_-
Same. Haven't played any sims for the whole event. Just opened the app to get the stuff. But tbh that's probably good enough for them. They probably just want the stats for advertisers or something. I'm sure they dont care if we actually play/enjoy the game.

my friend’s computer has been down since before growing together and she’s completely missing out on this event!! She’s a massive sims player so it’s not fair that she has to miss out because of something out of her control
there’s a CC creator who made the unlocked login rewards and made it into CC!
so its the EA teams fault that your friend broke her computer over an entire year ago? so I who play and put money into this game shouldn't get rewarded because your friend hasn't fixed her PC for over a year.... makes sense.
If you unlocked all of them give her your user file! Kayla talks about it at the end of the video.

The point of buying the expansions, game packs, stuff packs etc is (partly) for the exclusive items locked behind them. A Timed event to earn things I paid for is the bare minimum EA can do for those of us that have wasted our money on TS4
my problem with this feature is the same as Kayla has. i had to leave my home weeks ago because of the awful floods that hit down here in the south of brazil and had to leave my laptop behind. it wasn’t as much a priority as let’s say… my dog. luckily my apartment and stuff are fine, but i’ll only be able to go back there in a couple of days for medical reasons. so yeah, no sims for me in the last MONTH.
I live away from home, near my university 5 days a week. I'm only home on weekends. And I only play the sims on an old pc at home since I dedicate my own personal pc to uni work. So, it was a good thing I got to come home early these past few weeks because of exams, but it was a close call. I hate how many people must have missed out on this just because they have a life
Personally I would love if it was based on gameplay - every hour of real time, you unlock a new item. That way they can continue adding new items on top without making the old items gone forever. It might be a bit tedious if you want a specific CAS item or trait, but I think it'd still be an improvement over the limited time version we currently have.
That sounds like a nightmare and very mobile game. I prefer the idea someone said of them being scenario rewards. That way there’s a very specific thing you do if you want to engage and can ignore if you don’t. Where as the progressive hours-to-earn thing could get annoying especially if it turns into some pop up interrupting my game telling me about some reward I don’t care about in the
Midst of a University playthru.
Or just stick with SDX drops!

omg this explains so much! I was making a new sim the other day and the athletic outfit it defaulted to was something I hadn't seen before and I thought was pretty cute. But when I was trying to figure out what it was from, I couldn't not find it in my game. Turns out it was this log in reward but I hadn't actually unlocked it yet. lol

And as a mostly base game, mostly build focused player I was DYING to get that pillow. Everything else I could basically take or leave. But now that I finally unlocked the pillow I'm ready to do a "too many pillows" build. There are going to be so many window seats, so many cozy seating areas and SO many pillows.
This is the only reason I'm not complaining about the login rewards. At least I finally have a pillow now!

id argue that 1 tile wide bar is the best thing of the rewards. i hope they come out with more in the future!

It would really be cool if they did this more of like a progression thing. So, the more you play you can unlock items, but its for everyone. So when everyone starts, they can unlock an item, and even though someone plays throughout the year unlocking stuff, when a new person starts, they begin unlocking the first items and can eventually work up to future items like everyone else. They won't miss out on anything, they just have to add more play time (perhaps a shorter timeframe to catch up to others?) Hopefully this makes sense. I don't like that these are saved locally though. My laptop won't last forever :(
What I've found with the Practice Makes Perfect trait is that it actually works best if you work on multiple skills of the same type at once - so like have your sim work on writing, then painting, then an instrument, and they'll get into a groove where they develop ALL creative skills faster. It's not about your skill level in my experience so much as how frequently you're working on that skill type.

I had to start from scratch getting these rewards because my user save got corrupted and I had to do a full reinstall (this happens probably once a year, usually annoying but nbd), pretty mad that the rewards aren't tied to my EA account rather than my user save, there's a bunch of free content from the past that hasn't been wiped, sloppy work from Maxis yet again.
I remember there being a plain swatch of the cats and dogs hair now with the rewards it doesn’t show up with cats and dogs anymore
I “cheated” to get some of these items and it corrupted my save because the game considered them “unnamed objects”. When I repaired my game the rewards reset and I had to delete the locked objects. If you cheat to unlock the objects don’t “save as” because that seemed to be what triggered the bug.
Weird, what method did you use to unlock them? (Gallery, tag exploit, mod, or something else)
@@zorbl8463 Tag exploit, it seems the game didn’t know how to compress the objects? I only figured out that caused the issue after my husband looked at the crash and exception logs in the game file. The same log also mentioned rental units with the “unnamed objects” but the rentals didn’t use the objects, other houses in the world did. I haven’t seen anyone else report this bug so it may have just been me, and I didn’t report it because deleting the objects until I unlocked them fixed it.
I’ve been struggling a lot this past month with even getting out of bed, and I haven’t touched my laptop the whole time, so I missed these rewards due to my health. Thanks, Sims 4. Very helpful.
you should still be able to get them if you log in before july 4th !! i missed an entire two weeks because I was on vacation, and when i logged back in it just kept going from the last reward i got !

I say this as someone who plays games where login rewards are practically the only exciting thing about them: do not worry so much about missing out on rewards, because while they're fun, they're not essential to your game. I'm imploring you all to just ease your mind about this
Several weeks ago I had a Sim with the 'Practice Makes Perfect' trait. When she aged up I just hit random and it gave it to me. I had assumed it was a new trait added in some patch (I hadn't played TS4 in months). Later I learned it was in this event, but even then I found a random NPC that also had that trait so surely there can be a way of accessing it.
I still have never received a popup in the game and have missed out on everything because of it
Jesus, I'd say I'm surprised but I'm absolutely not. I really hope it comes back for you! If not, I think there are rooms with every item from the rewards on the gallery still!
In the future, there is the little thing in the corner that takes you to it so you can do that, if it works
if you are having issues, try taking your mods out and login again
and then put the mods back on

4:05 I own 2 Xbox's. My den Xbox has the rewards completed & my bedroom Xbox does not have 1. I own both consoles, play on the same account & lose access walking 14feet in my own home!
I have the same thing but with PlayStations. I backed it up on my bedroom external hard drive much like PC users do. I haven’t actually tried it yet on my living room PlayStation but I think it would work similarly to the PC.
same i just got a new xbox for my living because the one i have right now in my bedroom runs the sims 4 like garbage, but when i realized that my rewards progress wouldn't transfer i didnt even bother installing the sims on my new xbox...
@@marissalovesart Xbox & Playstation work very differently when it comes to how data is stored. I had been a PS4 player but couldn't get a 5 so moved to the Xbox when Series X became available where I live. The Microsoft data model requires all data be stored in the cloud and the user does not own that data. Digital games are licenses you do not own (Sony does that too of course) but the saves are also NOT owned by the players. Our Xbox saves & content licenses are all stored on a Microsoft cloud and only accessible to us through online access. Copies of the saves can be held on the console but do time out requiring us to reconnect to the networks. The data can never be moved off drive. For us the external HDD must be a purchas from Microsoft and added through a harddrive port dedicated in the back of the unit.
I really wish you well and hope Sony has some magic that allows what Microsoft does not.

The fact that it takes me an hour to load up my game, it’s just not ideal for those who have full-time jobs.
my gameplay is pretty fast but the loading is just too much to expect it to be done daily.
Edit: you can’t just take your whole pc or Xbox just to unlock something daily, and it sucks if you wanna go on holiday and there’s cool stuff that week.

The really funny thing is if you use MCCC and organized debug you already have work around access to these things because there just hidden behind debug walls
Like for example I've already used the practice makes perfect trait by giving it to a sim via mccc
the fact that so many people have had issues not being granted access, losing access or just plain missing out due to life happening shows that they really didnt think this through with both how often the game glitches, and simmers' playstyles. im one one of those people that plays for a week straight and then nothing for months, and i know there's at least a decent portion of players like me who are going to miss out on this because of it (assuming the exploits get patched in the future). they really should've just made it so you unlock the items whenever you login so you wont risk missing out, or just like, make it a weekly sdx drop :/ i saw someone else suggest tying it to irl game time (1 hour playtime = 1 item), and i think that'd also be a truer reflection of player engagement rather than just opening and closing the game to get an item
what would be cool is if they teamed up with cc modders and each "season" is a different modder and a piece of their cc is what you get every day

I logged in late and have not logged in a few days but I still have all the rewards from the first 2 weeks, so as long as the mission is live you can get the items (one at a day). I've seen many people thinking they've missed one reward because they were not able to log one day, but it doesn't work like that appearently.
I did not know they were stored under local files, I will be backing up my folder when i get home. Thanks for letting us know!
Yeah, oh my goodness. I was moving during this time so I didn't have internet/ wasn't able to log in for some of the rewards haha. I'll definitely download some from the gallery--thanks!!
you can back up your saves on console! on ps4, if you press options on the app, select upload/download saved data, and from there you can either upload to the cloud or to an external drive/usb. this is a good idea to do for regular backups, and i believe it will preserve these items if you get a new ps4 or a ps5. i believe theres a similar way of doing this on xbox as well

Well, they have a history of that. They have created pre-release items for packs. These items are unavailable to those who were not playing at the time
