The 8th Doctor version of Shada is exclusive to the steelbook. The release itself was a test to see how well Blurays of the classic series would be received prior to the release of the Collection boxsets
If you are still looking for a way to watch the 2003 eighth doctor shada, I have two versions of it I uploaded online, a feature legth edit of the animation and the original 6 parter version including the prelude Nothing is cut out and the audio sync issues is just how the animation is and was like at the time The feature length edit does have the scenes that get repeated at the beginning and the end of the parts cut out
I myself don't like the Rani. I feel like Mark of the Rani especially could have been the Two Masters, get another actor to play the master after Ainley and Time and the Rani... I haven't seen and I'm not judging the hate.
Can confirm that my dvd of Shada (Canada) has the McGann version on a seperate dvd... I gave zero craps about the Baker one, bought it for the McGann one... Did that dvd not have it there?
@404 TV I've been sat at the Big Finish checkout more than i care to admit, never actually going ahead with it cause it's a rabbit whole i can't go down
That's a great collection. My collection started out with a lot of hand me downs, some of which had special editions made of them, strangely enough... Honestly, that's what got me to start collecting the classic serials in the first place. I'm currently working on completing my collection. I'm going through it season by season, although I'm deviating quite a bit I'm looking to get Season 7, as well as that Lost in Time set, even though a few of those episodes are included in the animated versions. I would get the blu rays and steelbooks as well, although they're a bit of a lesser priority... Got to see those extra special special features
@@SamThomas_YT yeah, money is an issue. But buying a few each month seems to be the best way to go about it. It might take a while, but I think the payoff will be worth it
Really incisive & fascinating video Sam! We may differ on some opinions but it is subjective and as long as it makes someone happy, then it should be respected! It was so fun doing the music for this video and I am more then happy to do more for you in the future 😉
Recap for video.
Sam owns dvds but doesnt know anything about them
In 1997 I, in an astoundingly stupid move, gave my collection of 30 odd Target novelisations to goodwill... Idiot...
Death Comes to Time with the 7th Doctor was the first webcast animation, but Real Time is the first one Big Finish helped on.

To be honest I don't like clear DVD cases because it doesn't suit The classic doctor who DVDs
Finally someone that appreciates series 7 and the rings of akhaten.
What a collection!! Another great video, mate! Keep it up 😁
Thanks 🥰

40:34 An adventure in space and time is on blu-ray in the 50th anniversary steelbook.
A part of me was hoping this wasn't true. That makes the 4th steelbook with exclusive content that I want :(
@@SamThomas_YT turns out there is also a regular blu-ray boxset as well.
i think you're on about the collector's edition which is probably more expensive than the steelbook
@@SamThomas_YT yeah I am and I think you're right about that.

Spearhead from Space is the only true HD classic blu-ray. I started my collection with the VHS tapes, then dvds and now Blu-ray.
Are you going to do another video of your collection
I think I'm either gonna do an update next year or just do a shorter video with just what's changed
Curse of Fenrick is basically about Vikings and Vampires.
The Australian release of Shada has the BigFinish animation on the standard blu ray :)
Wow your 18 . You got a good voice for narration have you thought about doing any narrating ? I think you’d be good at it .
I have actually tried my hand at a bit of audio, just didn't really get very far with it 🤷🏼♂️
Can confirm that my dvd of Shada (Canada) has the McGann version on a seperate dvd... I gave zero craps about the Baker one, bought it for the McGann one... Did that dvd not have it there?
Yep, the UK 2017 animation dvd/bluray did not include the McGann one, only the steelbook
Great Vid! Sry I haven't sent you the rest of Shada from 2003, I'll send it asap :D
My heart slightly hurts that you have no big finish audio dramas, they are my bread and butter of doctor who media!!!
Well technically i have 2, Real Time and Shada. But unfortunately I just don't have the money to reach out that far into big finish :(
@@SamThomas_YT yeah, real time is great, big finish does leave my bank account crying!

@@SamThomas_YT The only saving grace for me personally is that there are the first 50 main range releases on Spotify, keep me from going bankrupt lol!

Fantastic plan! One wishes they could miraculously have the money necessary to purchase everything. A complete collection is the dream

I see Evil Dalek has been using my music collection to great effect again.
If you want I can send you screenshots of the booklets
You would be a legend!
And I'd be sure to credit you if I used them :)
