@@nikhilkoganti it wouldn't be worth it Infact i think newer ColorOS based UI is better than iOS I use a budget oppo phone as a second phone (along a primary iPhone) and tend to use the oppo more cuz the software is so customizable and I've never noticed any bugs
@@nikhilkoganti I’ve switched from Note10 to iPhone 13 Pro, and let me tell me what drove me nut - on second incoming call, iPhone keep vibrating and beeping all during your conversation, no way to calm that down, with a Samsun you calm that down by clicking on volume, the second call stays in background in mute mode - you paste a phone number on call keypad and there is no way you can modify it or delete a number, you have to paste it somewhere do your edit copy and paste again on keypad. - switching SIM cards : I use 2 SIM card, in Samsung you can modify where data is consumed with 2 touch. With iPhone you have to go through different menus - controlling volumes : with Samsung you can control your volumes for call, alarm, media… with iPhone you can’t, the volume you set works for everything - WhatsApp calls logs integrated with phone logs - gboard is more intuitive and easy to use in Android - and many more options that you are used to in android you won’t find them on iPhone. I am gravitating to the S23 myself, being that I am upgrading from an S21. I am really enjoying the One UI experience I am getting on my Samsung phone, and I am really impressed how far Samsung has come in the recent years as far as timely software updates. Keep up the great work. I love the informative videos on your channel
I've just moved from pixel 7 to s23. I prefer One UI to stock Android on Pixel 7. On the pixel there are niggly things like having to swipe down twice to change screen brightness, and linking WiFi and mobile data on the same quick settings button, so turning off WiFi requires an extra step, on my phone the ability to turn off 5g was disabled too (I work in a building with thick walls so I find data speeds more reliable with 5g off).
@@cirog.9341 I am also planning to switch from s21 to s23. The main reasons are battery improvement and processor performance (heating, gaming performance, etc.)
Funny how back in the Galaxy s6-s8 era they bash samsung for having contrasty pictures on its camera. Now, apple is the one doing that and is being praised for being more "punchy"
@@BernardoPatino you can’t turn off the automatic editing that iphone does starting from the iphone 13. the ios makes the picture automatically brighter and softer even though sometimes the user wants a grainy and dark picture. it’s so annoying bc i bought an iphone for its realistic pictures and yet the ios automatically edits the photo so much 🙄
My personal experience. S23 has both fingerprints & face recognition.. s23 screen better & 120hrtz S23 is more customizable , can be used both andriod & iOS themes.. Samsung is compatible with many smart watches S23 camera images are better S23 has a duel messengers option, e.g, can have 2 what'sapps Samsung gave better tradin value & discount for upgrades...
AGREED, The dual messengers option is REALLY GOOD specially for peoples who really wants to split their contact (for work/school and daily use). Iphone is really strict about something like that
Many 14 Plus and s23 comparison videos, it is noticeable that 120Hz of S23 screen flickering whereas 60Hz iPhone 14 Plus screens were flicker free and smooth. Finally I bought 14 Plus
Since my blackberry many moons ago, I've always stayed loyal to Samsung. Most of my TV's and washing machine are Samsung so it made sense (65in TV and fridge are LG). I got an amazing deal when I traded in my S9 two days ago for the S23 and phone works out much cheaper with EE (UK) than buying it out right. What I like is that the S23 software will be updated for 5 years as I plan to keep it for a few years.
Product Red looks extra shiny this year. I love it. But overall I prefer the camera placement on the S23. Also, It’s 2023 and it’s about time Apple stops treating high refresh screen as a PRO feature.
@@zarakikenpachi1773 Thats exactly my point, Its a big deal for android users so they dont swap because of it, iPhone users however probably dont care as much
Switching from Iphone to Samsung is like breaking the chains. You cannot imagine what freedom as a user you will have. One really important feature is the multi-tasking opportunity. To stream RUclips video while using the GPS it's a great thing. Or the option to reply to a message in Messenger threads without disturbing current activity is next level option

Well it’s back to Samsung for me. I moved to iPhone because the 12pro had better battery life than the S10/20/21 and 22 Exynos. But the 14 pro is ridiculously priced on monthly contract and I’m not downgrading to a vanilla iPhone. So S23+ ordered arrives Tuesday.
Only main reason for me to switching to samsung first time. Looking for s23 for 120hz and open environment. Giving a try. Hope Samsung won't disappoint. I used to use phone for 5 years.
I moved back to android after a few years of iPhone. Got the new regular s23 (256gb) from tmobile. Actual got the device a few days before retail sale because I pre-ordered it on the jump on demand plan. It's been stellar so far. I love the device and it's smooth scrolling.
love my S23 - it's a beast in all departments including battery, it will most definitely suit 90% of the users out there for years to come. The Ultra and plus just don't make sense to me as I work and am outdoors a lot. I need a smaller form factor.
@@captain.preeetwhat has apple done to consumers, of course u can buy a phone a year after release, these phones hold for like 4 years and 3 if u dont care for the phone
I've jumped between both. Went from iPhone to the galaxy s8 and then s10 plus. From there, I went to iPhone 11 pro max and basic iPhone 13. Just recently grabbed the S23 Ultra, and I love it. I've been in both ecosystems, and there is no real alligence to either brand. But I do find myself more in love with Samsung and android for whatever reason. The only knock I have, which was mentioned in the video, is trying to pair your bank up with samsung or Google Pay. Apple pay is seamless. But at the end of the day. I don't really need that feature personally.
S23+ owner here, I have yet to run into a bug or performance issue so far. I grew up with iphone alongside my family but for the past 5 years I have gravitated towards android as I personally prefer the customisability and the amount of system control the user has. I own a M1 Macbook which made me question if I should buy an iphone. But as someone who doesn't particularly use the ecosystem (windows pc, android phone, mac laptop) I decided that sticking to an android was the way to go. And holy cow AMOLED 120hz refresh rate is amazing, it is hard to tell the difference with my 165hz refresh rate monitor. And as a fingerprint biometric lover, the ulrasonic scanner is pressing my nerd buttons. With sammy being an android phone, it is extremely useful for me to run unauthorised software. Being able to inject payloads into my Nintendo Switch using an android device saves me the trouble of having to use my laptop or PC.
The 120hz was a huge reason for why I switched to Samsung when given the choice between both iPhone and Samsung. The rest of the reasons just kept piling up as I used the phone.
@@shsshumgashagsu depends on what you do, since the phone has adaptive refresh rate, if you are constantly scrolling or needing higher refresh rate, then battery will likely do worse. But if you are like me and read a lot, it can save a ton of battery life.
I think the comparison should be between s23 and 14 pro. Otherwise it is a no brainer. S23 has better camera than the 14 overall. Even the 8k 30fps is very good and useable, unlike the 8k 24 fps on other phones. The Snapdragon 8gen 2 with a bit overclock for the samsung is an efficient monster. I have watched the most objective battery test from Phonearena and I would say that the s23 battery is on par. Maybe you can get 15-20min more on average with the iphone, but it is a very small difference to even discuss. Especially when nowadays you have fast charging. The display is also a lot better and I was the guy who thought 120hz is a bit overkill and not needed, but I am coming from SE2020 and jesus, the difference is huge. Its worth mentioning that the s23 even has adaptive Hz, so you save battery. It is very good build quality. I think the Pro versions of iphone have the best build quality in terms of feel, but s23 is right behind. And when you put a case, you can't notice. This is why s23 should be compared to 14pro in terms of features. If we get to the price point, then s23 even wins against 14 pro. I was able to take mine on the preorder deal from a mobile operator for 650$ for the bigger 256GB with ufs 4.0. And ufs 4.0 is a lot faster than Nvme. So if you think about the advantages that ios had over android over the years, they are gone. UFS 4.0 > Nvme, Camera is better in android , you get 4 main versions and 5 years security patches in terms of software support. The perfomance and efficiecny of the Snapdragon is right there with the a16. In terms of games, it is even better. The only reason you would get an iphone nowadays is for the Ecosystem. I don't see any other real advantage.
I recently switched from the iPhone 14 Pro to the Galaxy S23+. While both are great phones I have to give it to the S23 series. Overall I am just way happier with my samsung and do not regret my decision whatsoever! A lot of it goes to personal preference, some people just prefer apple and the IOS while others will lean towards androids.
I had today a chance to play with iPhone 14, iPhone 14 pro and S23. I have to say that only way I would choose iPhone besides S23 is software. Even if they have the same size display S23 is much more easier to hold and maneuver
I have been trying to switch to iOS for quite some time but the inflexibility of the iOS kept me coming back to Samsung (android). I also do not get why the tech youtubers claim that iPhone is camera king. In my experience, Samsung is leagues ahead. To give you some context, I am still rocking a S9 from 2018, since then, my GF (now wife) and friends have had iPhone X, Pixel 3, iPhoneXS Max, iPhone XR, iPhone 11, OnePlus 8Pro, iPhone 13. I mean these are the phones we have compared our photos with. TBH, unanimously almost 90% of the time everybody prefers photos clicked with S9m even the guy who is an apple fan and rocks an iPhone13. I am not saying S9 doesn't have faults, the battery life is not good, not the fastest phone (damn you Exynos version) but there's something about the curved display and the feel of the touch (my wife has iPhone 13 now and I don't know why the screen feels more plasticky compared to S9). Not to forget, the screen is the best I have ever seen, even better than the new Samsungs, it is a QuadHD+ screen with blacks so deep, I can't find the bezels in room conditions. Sorry too much rambling.
By the way the warning at 2:35 is not needed. The microphone is rotated 90° from the hole, as if there was a little L inside, so inserting something in there won't actually break anything, not even the waterproofing. (I've actually placed a sim card tool inside of that hole before, despite knowing that it's not the correct one :P )
Samsung Canada offered me a $395 trade in for my 5yr old S9 with a failing battery for the S23. Apple had nothing of that sort, which makes it a no brainer especially since the preorder doubled the storage capacity free of charge.
@@ratrodgrady loving it. Yeah it is far bigger than what I'm used to, but the S23 is lightning fast and the battery life is unbelievably good. Whereas my S9 had to be charged at least 2~3 times each day, the S23 can do the whole day and still have at least 50% remaining.
Remember that Apple just got high refresh screens in their pro line of phones in late 2021 and in their Macbook Pros around that same time. I would imagine they will continue to go 60hz for their non-pro line for a while longer for those insanely high profit margins they are known for. I certainly agree that they should bring 120hz to the regular iPhone line but I just don't see it happening for the time being simply because most people who aren't into tech don't know the difference when buying.
Average consumer doesn't know the difference though. Plus the 60hz iPhones are normally smoother than 120hz Androids. Had an S21 for a week and the 120hz was atrocious.
S23 - Better ergonomics - better screen to body ratio - extra telephoto camera - higher refresh rate 120Hz - better pictures - comparable but little inferior video quality. Whatever you might say but Samsung is really slowly and steadily closing the gaps b/w Samsung flagships vs iPhone flagships.
@@clementbraimah2001 i still think apple manufacturers some of the most well rounded phone but diffrence b/w Samsung flagship and apple flagship had narrowed down quite significantly.
I am all the way with S23U. Been using mine for 3 days and I don't have battery anxiety anymore. It's so beautiful, the design, display, UI, sound, etc. Overall I am super happy with my purchase.
Also rocking the S10 base model.... until tomorrow! 😂🎉 S23 is arriving and the only reason im even upgrading is because my S10 screen is finally burning out and the battery only lasts 4 hours. Not bad for a 4 year old phone that's rarely been switched off! 🙌
I really don't like wide or ultra wide angle lens photos, especially includes human portraits. So I preferred Samsung S23 because it has 3X telephoto lens. Thanks for the video.
I love iPhone for the stability of the OS and the photo and video quality. But I hate feeling limited and trapped in their ecosystem. Plus you can't customize nearly as much on iOS. It's a tough call because then Samsung isn't as optimized with their battery life and standby time. But for me it comes down to customization and freedom. So I'd go with the s23.
@@c4me540 most I've seen say an hour longer of screen on time than the s22 that got 4 and a half hours to 5 hours of sot. While that isn't bad I think the battery could be optimized better especially on standby drain.
I've had an Iphone since the 3GS..haven't enjoyed the 14 Pro Max and recently switched it to the regular iPhone (because of the weight) - miss the telephoto lens and like you said, hard to leave the Apple Ecosystem, but the 3rd Camera on the Samsung, form factor and screen are sure tempting!
Thats a long time to be in an ecosystem an leave man. I love Android and Samsung phones, but even I think it would be a long adjustment period to leave iOS after such a long time. You are brave 😅
it is hard to leave Apple's walled garden but it's freeing once you do it. Coming from a former iPhone user, I'd say you should make the switch over to Samsung just because it has so many features that just make the overall experience so much beter
60 hz is one thing... even my laptop has 165 hz but after paying so much, not having a telephoto camera is a bummer. I really love telephoto for portrait shots.
I've got the S23 Ultra (256GB/12GB) and a gift (Buds Pro 2) for 1049$, I have had S10+ since 1/3/2019 preordered it, and I got (A galaxy watch + duel wireless fast charger + 10000 mAh power bank) as a preorder bonus and still using them to this moment, the Ultra will be my primary phone for the next 5 years. Samsung respects its customers.
Let's keep it simple Display, charging, processor, cameras -- s23 Videography by a slight margin -- iPhone 14 Battery life, speakers, ip rating, wireless, built -- tie Subjective-- software ( both are top of their game )and design ( for me punch hole >> notch any day) Here in India With pre-order offers, old phone exchanges, and with bank offers. I can get s23 for 600 USD.. Meanwhile, with phone exchange, we get ip14 for about 750 USD.. It makes sence to go for s23 over ip14 atleast here in India
@parthangk8597 Both would age equally good imo(4-5 years) s23 would give 4 os and 5 years of security and ip 14 would give 5 years of updates Both would last like a fine wine, it's just if u want to swap battery or display, Samsung would be way cheaper Typically iphones have good resale value..
Hey Matt, good comparison, it would be cool to see a comparison s23 versus the pixel seven because I think most android users aren’t getting an iPhone and iPhone users aren’t buying an android, so what do you know maybe I’m wrong I don’t know
I am an old iphone user, having watch 7, mac and airpods 2. But my budget is not for iphone pro models for 120Hz display panels. Slighly bored as well with closed environment. Looking for S23 this time for a change.
You're the reason why I upgraded from my iPhone 12 Pro Max to the Samsung Galaxy S23, it's faster, better display, much more portable, better comfort. I don't have any regrets.
price equality is just in the us as i know. In europe and some other countries iphones are relativly pricier than samsung (50 to 200 dollar). In that case what would you tp prefer?
That's what happened to me as well. Looking around for a new phone. Flagship or upper midrange, but it need to be on the smaller side, thus the options are limited: iphone 14 vs S23 For me it was no brainer, base S23 cost $200 less than base iphone 14. The preorder bonus that bump up the S23 storage into 256gb also sway me a lot. Performance wise, you cant go wrong with any of these phone, current flagships are very capable to tackle everyday use.
Just an FYI: You can't hurt your mic if you stick your tool in the wrong hole. The engineers have tought of this mishap beforehand, and placed the mic off the side on the inside, you can't poke it. :)
I am now using an entry level phone with 90hz display. I don't want to neglect 60hz because we lived with it for a long time. But, after using a high refresh rate display, I can't go back to 60hz.
I am due an upgrade very soon and I am totally torn on whether to switch to the Samsung S23 or stick with Apple. In my country Apple jacked up the prices so the base iPhone 14 is way overpriced at $250 at $70/month for 2 years. That's insane for what is a marginally better iPhone 13 with a different name. Samsung S23 is $100 cheaper. It just seems that the Samsung S23 is better value for what is offers over a barely changed iPhone 14. I have been with iPhone now for years and don't particularly fancy going to Android.
In the end I ended up taking a risk and got the S23. I am really happy I did. It is an amazing device. The display is so bright, clear and buttery smooth. The battery life is simply outstanding. Such a wonderful phone for the price. My main concern was Android but having used it now for over 2 weeks I can say it is not a concern now. Android has definitely improved a lot since I last used it.
2:35 GREAT public service anouncement!! I had an A53 with the same design flaw, I poked the simpin into the microphone (the A53 inly has one) and miraculously did not break it... I learned the hard way not to do that to my S23 :(
No brainer, the iPhone is always playing catch up, and super limited, can't customize, the displays are horrible. I've had both, and the iPhone is a ripoff for what you get.
Thanks for the review. I was also in pickle but you are absolutely right the refresh rate is a huge advantage as it makes the UI feel snappy. I was planning on switching to Apple but now I don't feel I'm ready to buy into an entire ecosystem. If only apple had better cross-platform support.
I mean there are things that are added value with the Samsung (and Android in general) that objectively simply clinch this for the Galaxy unless the Apple ecosystem is all one cares about. 1- Trasfer speeds via USB 2- Samsung Dex and Wireless Dex 3- Reverse wireless charging 4- 120Hz display Really the S23 should be put up against the small 14 Pro if one aims for feature parity overall
60Hz is definitely a deal breaker for me. I won't be looking at any other specs if the screen is below 90 Hz. 60Hz is straight up not acceptable in 2023. Of course, this is a personal opinion, but as long as Apple doesn't include anything above 90 Hz, there is no way I'd consider it as an option, especially after using my S21. I had used iPhone 7 for 4 years and the only reason for me to not switching to iPhone 12 was also the refresh rate. I just can't understand why Apple includes 120 Hz refresh rate only to their Pro products. 120 Hz is not something to be considered as a premium feature.
It is their strategy to maximize the profit by upselling you the higher pricing margin model. They are making nice devices and all but they are not doing charity here
@@audam-san7707 you have to accept that that is anti-consumer. Even mid range phones have higher refresh rates on their screen, there is no excuse to not include your base model, if you release it as your flagship.
I just bought the S23 ... once i turned off the processor restricted at 70% and let it go to 100%, the thing was a beast ... super fast and super snappy.
To be honest, any one of those will probably be enough to make you happy. If not, then the issue runs deeper than mere incremental specs... It becomes more about not knowing what to want in life, rather than an optimization problem...
After having issues with my iPhone 11 I went in and paid for a replacement. 4 months in I began having problems with the replacement and vowed I’d never buy another iPhone. Fast forward to last night, I purchased my first Samsung. Have yet to receive it, but with all the reviews I’ve watched, I can’t wait. Ever since Steve Jobs died quality control and innovation has gone down the drain.
Appreciate the review you always do a through job. I have the s23 ultra and I'm going to tell you I think it blows away any iPhone period. Of course the 15 comes out later this year. Just extremely happy with the ultra.
My main thing is having the dedicated back button on a Galaxy. I currently have a S21 (upgraded from S8). Background: I grew up with Samsung phones. My first phone was the Samsung T429. Then the Gravity 3. TMobile MyTouch. I never owned an iPhone. My aversion to iPhones started with the easily cracked screens era. Fast-forward, I'm a graphic designer with a 2021 MacBook Pro and will always preach Mac laptops regardless of profession but I just do not like iPhones and no I dnt care abt FaceTime and iMessage ecosystem. I dont care abt the blue/green drama. I love the interface on Galaxy more than iPhone. I like to manually pay with my credit cards, not my phone. I've always been sort of hybrid. Granted, I don't embrace a lot of great features on any of the devices (I never use Siri or Google voice, multi-tasking, etc) but my most minimal usage peace of mind has always been with Samsung. Also yes, Samsung Galaxy phones are just more beautiful and reliable design-wise and durability-wise to me. LongBeachGriffy was right that the typical person getting an iPhone is only getting an iPhone...because it's an iPhone. Apple is King overall, yes. But that doesn't mean the common man will always agree with his ways.
Never understood the whole preference on face id, when with the ultra you get face and finger not having to look at anything, using a face/iris scanner always felt like too much work and intrusive. The ultra offers more in every aspect but you're right if function and price doesn't matter then an assessment is bad news. I think after the 22u people will began to stop upgrading every year, Apple set the market, samsung set the standard, and now its up to us to fine tune both.
Face ID on the iPhone is fantastic. The second your eyes look at the screen it unlocks 95% of the time my iPhone will unlock before I even notice it’s unlocked, if you don’t look at the phone and are looking even half an inch beside it then it won’t unlock. It’s the only thing I prefer on the iPhone and I actually genuinely miss on my iPhone.
Samsung is just more fun tho, more options and not as limited in terms of personalizing the phone. And the camera on almost any modern Samsung puts my iPhone to shame.
@@traviscurran8271 samsung has face ID too, I don't why he didn't mention it. also face ID sucks in situation where you cant look at your phone properly, for example: lectures, meetings etc, face ID has also failed on me during low light situations. apple removing fingerprint scanner is a big crime and a cost cutting methodology
It's 2024 and m still using a S22+, everything apart from performance is flagship level. But the newer S23 doesn't have that problem. Soon gonna look at S24 and decide should I upgrade or not. Anyways happy new year 🎊
I used to be so obsessed with getting an iphone because it was popular and everyone used them but my parents never wanted to spend that much money on a phone. Now that I work and make my own money, I really wanted to upgrade from my Motorola Stylus 5g, after some research and watching many reviews I bought the S23 Samsung and I couldn't have been happier. I will surely love this phone for years.
One of the reasons I’m kinda indecisive is I’m kinda double dipping in both ecosystems. I have a iPad where I have dozens of music and other stuff, but I also have a Samsung phone currently and a galaxy smart watch.
by the time u bring the phone to your face you have to swipe up. you can unlock with finger print and automatically brings u to home screen. so this "i dont have to do too much" well u actually swipe up , after watching your phone everytime you pick it up
8:30 Good dynamic range is when your phone doesn't overexpose bright areas and doesn't crush the shadows. That's exactly whan an iPhone did in the sample video. It has more contrast but less dynamic range than the S23.
Yep, and that is exactly what happens on the iPhone when taking photos all the time, hence why in my opinion it's garbage, barely competing with Android middle-class phones, but definitely not high-end ones. That overexposing and edge fringing especially is just embarassing and it was MUCH worse on iPhone 13 and before..
I wish they would just give the Pro a decent telephoto and i'd be sorted. The S23 to me seems more competitive with the current pro judging by the camera system - not sure about anything else.
Great comparison thanks. I have just got a great deal on a S23 from the Samsung web site which I couldn’t ignore. I have traded in my S21+ 256gb for the smaller S23 256gb which I think I will prefer as don’t feel I need to carry the bigger size. Managed to secure £400 off the list price of £899 with their fantastic trade in plus the bonus discount code (don’t forget to add this code at check out) which is available for about the next 10 days, so a deal I had to take and would be daft not to as it won’t come again. Really pleased with the savings and this sealed it for me.
I own both an iphone 11 and a samsung s20 (I haven't upgraded since 2020) and in my honest opinion, I still prefer my samsung. It's my main phone while I use the iphone as my secondary. The big difference at a glance is the LCD vs the OLED screens. The samsung makes the iphone look way older when compared by these but I know the latest iphones now have OLED. I don't know if I want to upgrade both yet or if I should wait for the next year.
I don't think you mentioned that the S23 has an always on display, did you? For me, that's a big deal. I love the S23 and I think that overall it's a better phone but the biometrics aren't great and that's a deal breaker for me. The fingerprint scanner doesn't work all the time...if you have a glass screen protector it's terrible (yes, I know you have to re-register your fingerprints and enable touch sensitivity it's still very bad). I wound up going with a plastic screen protector which is better with fingerprints, but still not perfect. Also, the face unlock is really bad so don't count on that as your main way to unlock. I wound up enabling smart unlock which allows me to just swipe up to unlock when I'm at home. The iPhone's Face ID works literally all the time in ALL lighting conditions. It's smooth, seamless, and reliable. I would gladly have a notch on a Samsung phone any day to get that reliable and consistent unlock experience.
I switched from the iPhone 12 to the Poco X5 Pro and I'm very happy with the change, open OS with many more features and apps like emulators or dedicated game streaming apps, 120hz display which also looks amazing maybe on par with the iPhone 12 except the brightness maybe. I miss iOS slightly for its consistency, the looks and animations, but Android is almost like a PC where I can do whatever I want. Actually Poco X5 Pro is better except the performance and cameras, also the wireless charging which I don't really miss when there is 67W charging lol

On s23 now. In Canada, pre-order was a massive deal to me. Trade-in an s9 forgotten in the basement, after all credits and a voucher it came out at $605+tax in Canada. Sweet to me. Coming from an s20, camera and battery are substantially improved. Rest is same. On a side note iphone 14 has better camera but that's about it...
@Matthew Moniz Love it. Good not massive upgrade from s20. I think if you have an s21 or s22, no need to upgrade but anything below s20 is day'n' night . Only things they missed is 45 W charger in the box . And the capability to charge at that speed. Pathetic to me. Been a Samsung guy for 17y now and I upgrade my phone every 3y, but I was ready to go OP11. I was that close. For many reasons that we both know. Well, good I didn't..but will seriously consider in the future
I would say that S23 has a better photo camera which can take good videos and iPhone has an excellent video camera which can take good photos. I am more of a photo person so I would get the S23 plus it has better portrait mode. But for a video person as he said iPhone is the way
@GSPA100 got a voucher for signing in for pre release event live streamed all over the world. Value was $100. To my knowledge this is the deepest discount I have ever seen from Samsung prior to a new phone release. Again...I traded in a garbage s9 that I forgot I have in the basement of my house.
Long time user of ios since 2013, but just recently I switched to android (vivi x90 pro).. my reasons are 1) apple is not innovative anymore. Just make some adjustments in old tech and increase the price heftily 2) it’s 2023 , and iPhone is still charging with 20w brick.. any avg android phone now comes with 25w charging speed.. when you’re spending > 1000 usd , I expect warp charging 3) apple isn’t providing individual app lock 4) apple still not able to segregate pics in different folders. There should be a totally different folder for camera pics. In gallery everything gets at the same place in recents 5) iPhone is still not customisable. I expect different fonts, different themes 6) call recorder - because of my profession I desperately required call recorder. This is the reason I always required carry two phones - one personal no (iPhone) and another professional 7) no app clone I’m looking forward to buy next version of 23 ultra.. I’m totally happy with android system.. I’m also replacing my MacBook and ipad now .. apple just wants you to get trapped in their system and keep spending money
I just got a replacement S23 as I have had issues with both of my S21 (and it's 'insured' refurbished replacement). The wife specifically uses an Iphone and I got to play around with it for a couple of days. I had the option to go either way with my replacement, but chose to stick with what I'm familiar with (I am sure that is somewhat a deciding factor for most people) It also helps that I already have everything setup on my Samsung account so everything was pretty painless transitioning process between upgrading phones.

Xiaomi 13 or S23. After a years of bigger or big phones something small is on my wish list
I just bought an S23. It's fine, it gets the job done and the refresh rate is a real beauty. I've been using android for the past 5 years and already got used to it. The system is okay, it can do everything I need, and I don't need to change system. Both iPhone and Samsung are very capable phones, they both have great cameras, they both get the job done. Personally I like Samsung and Android more, because they have wide range of devices from all price ranges (which means I don't need to adapt to a new system if someday I became broke), and somehow third-party devices work better with Android devices (which is good, because I don't like airpods).
He made a mistake there, iPhone has infrared that can unlock your phone in a very dark place like the poco f1 on android, whilst the S23 can only face unlock in a bright scenes. But, they all have face unlock by defualt.
I’m a rare case,I genuinely prefer iPhone simple for the vast accessory support. iOS is very stale, but at the same time I don’t get on my phone to play with the operating system anymore,I get on it to check notifications and put it back in my pocket.
Great video. Well, it is all subjective, comparing a new phone with one that is a generation older. It does all boil down to which ecosystem works best for the user. Also with the iPhone you get better battery life, a slightly faster chip even though it is older and longer software support than Samsung
nope, there are battery tests that prove the S23 lasts longer than the iPhone 14. The S23's chip is also faster in real world use, and ever since 2020 Samsung phones have been getting 4 years of OS updates and 5 years of security updates. So basically everything you said is false 😂
Very good 👍🏽review, imo. Thank you. Oh btw, I ordered the S23 while the "pre-order" 256 storage bump offer was still available. I am excited about my S23 in Lime Green, and anxiously waiting.
I went from Samsung Galaxy s20 fe back to iPhone & chose the iPhone 14 but got the blue color. Since it look so beautiful & blue is my favorite color. My reasons for going back to iPhone is because I missed FaceTime. The speed seemed to be faster than android. It had better emoji options, better battery life. & audio is better as well when it comes to hearing phone calls. & missed taking videos while playing music in the background at the same time which Samsung couldn’t do.
Had s20FE. But the panel came off as the adhesive was shit and the screen was shut while taking pic underwater. Planning for s23 now, hope this wouldn't disappoint !
I’m fighting myself. I want the S23 because it sounds like the smarter purchase, but I can’t seem to mesh with Android OS as easily as I have with iOS for the past 9 years. Also, i can’t let go of my Airpods Pro. I know right? Not the best earbuds, and very expensive. And i know i can use them with Android phones, but it’s not the best synchronization between the devices.
The s23 is a great phone and I would love to use one but I think I still prefer the iPhone. iOS is more preferable to me and I just like iOS software more. The s23 and it’s software isn’t bad I just prefer iOS.
Got the S23, it's amazing, and one UI 5.1 is smoother than anything I've ever seen. Cameras are great, shoots in 4k UHD base. Make sure you turn on Dolby Atmos when you get the phone so you can get the most out of the speaker system! It'll be just as loud if not more than the iPhone!
Been waiting to buy a full ecosystem set, and have been torn between going apple or going android. Im using an android now but have used an Iphone before and I loved it, something about the feel of the software and the device is so alluring, but I realized that allure isnt so much in practicality, its in polish. Apple is the better looking device and feels better in the hand, but ultimately android and windows together do so much more. the biggest deciding point for me is Macbook compared to the new Samsung laptop. youll spend 2000dollars for a Macbook and cant do more than basically work and content creation, whereas with the samsung galaxy book particularly the Ultra, you can actually game, and have all the power to do professional grade video editing and document creation, which is great because I do game on very selective titles, like the new Resident Evil 4 emake and the dead sace remake and a few of the top games, in short im not a hardcore gamer but I have been a lifelong gamer and enjoy really good quality games, on top of the other work that I do, and having a laptop that can handle all that is a no brainer.
Long time Samsung user. Switched to iPhone for awhile but couldn't believe how inflexible iOS was. Went back to Samsung.
I'm curious. What were some of the things you noticed that were different or missing in iOS. I am owner of an older Oneplus phone and am planning to switch to an iPhone in the future
@@nikhilkoganti it wouldn't be worth it
Infact i think newer ColorOS based UI is better than iOS
I use a budget oppo phone as a second phone (along a primary iPhone) and tend to use the oppo more cuz the software is so customizable and I've never noticed any bugs
@@nikhilkoganti I’ve switched from Note10 to iPhone 13 Pro, and let me tell me what drove me nut
- on second incoming call, iPhone keep vibrating and beeping all during your conversation, no way to calm that down, with a Samsun you calm that down by clicking on volume, the second call stays in background in mute mode
- you paste a phone number on call keypad and there is no way you can modify it or delete a number, you have to paste it somewhere do your edit copy and paste again on keypad.
- switching SIM cards : I use 2 SIM card, in Samsung you can modify where data is consumed with 2 touch. With iPhone you have to go through different menus
- controlling volumes : with Samsung you can control your volumes for call, alarm, media… with iPhone you can’t, the volume you set works for everything
- WhatsApp calls logs integrated with phone logs
- gboard is more intuitive and easy to use in Android
- and many more options that you are used to in android you won’t find them on iPhone.
This is why I am waiting for my S23+
@@joneslukasAlso that back navigation and going all the way to the top to scroll down for notifications are so annoying on iPhones.

S21 still has a few years of software update left right? Any particular reason you're upgrading?
@@cirog.9341 yes the s21 has major updates until 2025 and patch in 2026 but in his case I think it is more a question of upgrade

Funny how back in the Galaxy s6-s8 era they bash samsung for having contrasty pictures on its camera. Now, apple is the one doing that and is being praised for being more "punchy"
I remember all tech youtuber said samsung picture like too vivid to be true. Very funny.

My personal experience.
S23 has both fingerprints & face recognition..
s23 screen better & 120hrtz
S23 is more customizable , can be used both andriod & iOS themes..
Samsung is compatible with many smart watches

AGREED, The dual messengers option is REALLY GOOD specially for peoples who really wants to split their contact (for work/school and daily use). Iphone is really strict about something like that
S23 can be charged with usb-c charger that you already have with your laptopm (Macbook), while you need a separate cable for iPhone.
Don't forget about Samsung Dex. Practically a desktop within your phone

Great that apple pay works for you. It doesn’t in India. Samsung pay works here.

Against pro max samsung has ultra and against 14 max samsung has 23+. But samsung does not have competitor to 14 pro.

Even Jerry Rig Everything did a video with different phones showing that poking that hole doesn't affect the waterproofing .

Both would last like a fine wine, it's just if u want to swap battery or display, Samsung would be way cheaper
Typically iphones have good resale value..
@@bhardwajdimpy if you're in a states, go down to Best buy and take a look at the s23. It's definitely a nice looking phone
Yes! good point!! maybe even throw the asus zenfone 9 or the xiaomi 13 (in the near future) for sizes sake
Exatamente
Exactly I'm also planning to switch to the s23 but I'm scared that everyone saying that there's still heating issues on s23 lineup so I'm confused.
You're the reason why I upgraded from my iPhone 12 Pro Max to the Samsung Galaxy S23, it's faster, better display, much more portable, better comfort. I don't have any regrets.
Happy to hear you're enjoying it!
price equality is just in the us as i know. In europe and some other countries iphones are relativly pricier than samsung (50 to 200 dollar). In that case what would you tp prefer?
That's what happened to me as well. Looking around for a new phone. Flagship or upper midrange, but it need to be on the smaller side, thus the options are limited: iphone 14 vs S23
For me it was no brainer, base S23 cost $200 less than base iphone 14. The preorder bonus that bump up the S23 storage into 256gb also sway me a lot.
Performance wise, you cant go wrong with any of these phone, current flagships are very capable to tackle everyday use.
Just got my Samsung Galaxy S23+. Great experience. Photography is great. The zoom function is great. The smooth animations. Sound. Everything
I’m in the same boat
In the end I ended up taking a risk and got the S23. I am really happy I did. It is an amazing device. The display is so bright, clear and buttery smooth. The battery life is simply outstanding. Such a wonderful phone for the price. My main concern was Android but having used it now for over 2 weeks I can say it is not a concern now. Android has definitely improved a lot since I last used it.
@isaok I’m in a similar situation. Battery life over 4-5 years on android is a point of concern for me.
Current situation too! I’m giving myself about 30 days to decide 😊
If your open to switching or can switch to a different OS the S23 looks a better deal to me, 120hz will feel great too
Thanks for the review.
1- Trasfer speeds via USB
2- Samsung Dex and Wireless Dex
3- Reverse wireless charging
4- 120Hz display
Really the S23 should be put up against the small 14 Pro if one aims for feature parity overall
The split screen on the S23 is awesome!
Amazing phone.
The best comment out there
Disagree. It's not merely about being content, but rather about getting the best for your money as a consumer

Same scenario with me. Strugling to select one among these two giants
120 HZ is a game changer. I have been using s20 plus since 2020 with 120 hz all the time. So smooth.
The iPhone pro models got it too just not the budget one that is seen here in this video
@@grimreaper318 The "budget" one starts at 999€ here in Germany. Bro it's not budget just Apple being greedy assholes
One of the reasons I’m kinda indecisive is I’m kinda double dipping in both ecosystems. I have a iPad where I have dozens of music and other stuff, but I also have a Samsung phone currently and a galaxy smart watch.
8:27 Dynamic range is actually better on the S23
by the time u bring the phone to your face you have to swipe up. you can unlock with finger print and automatically brings u to home screen. so this "i dont have to do too much" well u actually swipe up , after watching your phone everytime you pick it up
8:30 Good dynamic range is when your phone doesn't overexpose bright areas and doesn't crush the shadows. That's exactly whan an iPhone did in the sample video. It has more contrast but less dynamic range than the S23.
Exactly my thoughts.
It's like an isheep talking only to green veges again. Lol.
Congrats on hitting 1M views on this one!
Hope the S24 vs iPhone 15 will get even more
Thank you!
I mean you still need to swipe the screen up after logging in with face id. It's just similar effort with touching your thumb on the screen
Regarding the sound: did you have the dolby atmos on? It makes a huge difference on Samsung phones!

Hello Matthew... is it the right time to pick IPhone 14 128gb or should I wait till September for the price drop ??? Need your advise 🙏
Very nice deal! How you liking it so far?
But for a video person as he said iPhone is the way
How did you get a voucher?
@GSPA100 got a voucher for signing in for pre release event live streamed all over the world. Value was $100.
To my knowledge this is the deepest discount I have ever seen from Samsung prior to a new phone release. Again...I traded in a garbage s9 that I forgot I have in the basement of my house.
Long time user of ios since 2013, but just recently I switched to android (vivi x90 pro).. my reasons are
1) apple is not innovative anymore. Just make some adjustments in old tech and increase the price heftily
2) it’s 2023 , and iPhone is still charging with 20w brick.. any avg android phone now comes with 25w charging speed.. when you’re spending > 1000 usd , I expect warp charging
3) apple isn’t providing individual app lock
4) apple still not able to segregate pics in different folders. There should be a totally different folder for camera pics. In gallery everything gets at the same place in recents
5) iPhone is still not customisable. I expect different fonts, different themes
6) call recorder - because of my profession I desperately required call recorder. This is the reason I always required carry two phones - one personal no (iPhone) and another professional
7) no app clone
I’m looking forward to buy next version of 23 ultra.. I’m totally happy with android system.. I’m also replacing my MacBook and ipad now .. apple just wants you to get trapped in their system and keep spending money
One feature that is really great on the Samsung is the DEX mode. And I think that we should have in IOS, but Apple won't make it happen.
Exactly what I was looking for. A great review and comparison, without unnecessary comments, totally to the point!
Can it shoot 25 or 50 FPS?
Although i was never going to go for iphone still a little reassurance is good Waiting for my S23 🙂
It's a great phone
I just bought an S23. It's fine, it gets the job done and the refresh rate is a real beauty. I've been using android for the past 5 years and already got used to it. The system is okay, it can do everything I need, and I don't need to change system. Both iPhone and Samsung are very capable phones, they both have great cameras, they both get the job done. Personally I like Samsung and Android more, because they have wide range of devices from all price ranges (which means I don't need to adapt to a new system if someday I became broke), and somehow third-party devices work better with Android devices (which is good, because I don't like airpods).
Doesn't the S23 have face unlock as well? Hope they didn't take that away.
I assume they have. I have it on my Note 10 Plus
It was a mistake
Worry not all samsung phones have face recognition 😅
Yup. My S23 has facial recognition, something I carried over from my old S9.
He made a mistake there, iPhone has infrared that can unlock your phone in a very dark place like the poco f1 on android, whilst the S23 can only face unlock in a bright scenes. But, they all have face unlock by defualt.
@@nero360ty it doesn't have to be bright. I know cuz I use it all the time
I’m a rare case,I genuinely prefer iPhone simple for the vast accessory support. iOS is very stale, but at the same time I don’t get on my phone to play with the operating system anymore,I get on it to check notifications and put it back in my pocket.
Good honest approach, great explanation over both devices, why I think of dumb bells rolling down the driveway I don't know LOL 👍🏻
wow.. thats nice.. also compare between pixel 7 pro and s23+ & iphone 14
Just ordered the S23. Switched to android years ago after the Iphone 3G, never looked back. Just personal preference I guess.
Very good 👍🏽review, imo. Thank you. Oh btw, I ordered the S23 while the "pre-order" 256 storage bump offer was still available. I am excited about my S23 in Lime Green, and anxiously waiting.
its unfair to even compare the 128 gig s23 to other because 256 storage is so much faster
I like how during the performance section he COMPLETELY neglected the fact that the 8 gen 2 is MUCH faster than the a16's gpu let alone the a15's
Thank you so much for your comparison ❤

Also, i can’t let go of my Airpods Pro. I know right? Not the best earbuds, and very expensive. And i know i can use them with Android phones, but it’s not the best synchronization between the devices.
The s23 is a great phone and I would love to use one but I think I still prefer the iPhone. iOS is more preferable to me and I just like iOS software more. The s23 and it’s software isn’t bad I just prefer iOS.
That's totally fine it's all down to your own needs and preferences
As a Oppo Oneplus 11R user i want S23 Ultra for its Great Looks , Features and Processor.
