    LOVE that You said something about cut-inside-winger. For me it is totally different role then regular winger and inverted winger (really, it should be a separate player role). Cut-Inside-winger [a] is more well-rounded inside forward (he can and will cross) but also more attacking then inverted winger [a] (more diagonal dribbles). Great video as always!

      thanks!! and yea, sometimes the Inside Forward (especially two of them) will clog the attacking midfield, especially if you're trying to get some kind of AM role to work. A Winger (with a cut inside) can help alleviate that

    Safe to say I was the first to join the patreon and discord (can’t contribute financially yet) but as for this role, doesn’t typically score for me but man is it an assist machine with the right players. Even without a lot of pace in the premier league, good mentals and technicals have made it lethal with the right roles around it

      Thanks! i've thought about save ideas, but nothing concrete. The difficulty is that I make these videos to be (mostly) self contained, so people new to the channel can hop in wherever they want and won't be lost. My fear would be if I did a save like "Winger: Episode 9 with Luton!" that people would just skip it/miss out/ignore it if they hadn't watched the previous episodes.

    I always thought of wingers as more supportive players, there to stay wide and get in crosses, so used IF far more - but in an old save I had a young winger I'd bring off the bench (winger support) and he scored so many goals late on from crosses to the back post where he came in late completely unmarked

    • @TheDeepLyingPlaymaker

  • @TheTraaaaaaa

    I’m curious if you think having a winger on “cuts inside” would be a good combo with the overlap TI on that winger’s side. In my mind this would encourage the winger to wait just a second for the fullback to catch up and still provide width and offer an outlet once the defense collapse.

    • @TheDeepLyingPlaymaker
      @TheDeepLyingPlaymaker  2 месяца назад +1

      that would probably be a good example of how I would use the team instruction (overlap). The Winger will stay wide, and you're telling him to look for the overlap if it's on, but if it's not he'll still be doing his normal Winger stuff.
      Great suggestion!

    Does having 'wrong foot' wingers in the winger role affect their performance? ie a left footed winger on the right winger role rather than the inverted winger role

    • @TheDeepLyingPlaymaker
      @TheDeepLyingPlaymaker  2 месяца назад

      It affects their performance, but it's not necessarily bad per se. If you've got a left footed winger on the right, they'll play like a normal winger. But sometimes you'll see them cut inside when they're in the penalty area (even if you don't have the instruction) because they want to get on their dominant foot. It creates some unique situations (both good and bad) but I generally don't mind it

    • @TheDeepLyingPlaymaker

      A playmaker is what's called a "focus role" meaning they have a hidden instruction telling his teammates to pass to them more often. He'll also track to the ball more often when you have possession.
      The CAM is more of your traditional midfielder that you're telling to play more aggressive and get in front of goal more (on the attack duty)

    • @TheDeepLyingPlaymaker
      @TheDeepLyingPlaymaker  2 месяца назад

      As far as I know, team fluidity (if you mean the little identification at the bottom of the tactic) doesn't affect your team. It's a left over feature from older FM's where you could alter how fluid your team could play. Now it just shows how many defend/support/attack roles you have.
      I believe the AI uses it to set up there formations but other than that it doesn't really have relevance to us as a player in FM24.
      If you search around some of the SI tactic forums, you can find some more info. I belive SI and some high level mods have come out and said fluidity doesn't really change much.
      Hope that helps!

    Shame inside forwards are so overpowered at the moment

    • @No14210
      @No14210 2 месяца назад +2

      Personally I've recently started using a full-back + winger on one side, and a wing-back + IF on the other. I used to have FBs on both sides, which is very safe, but lacks a little "bang" up front. Although it depends on the players in my squad. Sometimes on that AML position, the best option just happens to be a fast, left-footed guy who can only play on the left flank and has great crossing, and I'm not going to sacrifice that just to have everyone cutting inside, even though that is very powerful as well. But it gives some flexibility and unpredictability when the two flanks doing two different things.
      Sadly, even good wingers will sometimes just pointlessly dribble straight into the opposition full-back and it leads to a counter. I guess there's a reason why the pure old-school wing play is no longer fashionable. Because defences have just gotten too good. But having one guy putting in crosses can still be a useful weapon in the manager's arsenal sometimes.

    • @khemrajbudha7955
      @khemrajbudha7955 2 месяца назад +1

      @@No14210 Typically, wingers were deployed exclusively on the flanks to stretch opponents and deliver crosses, a role that complemented the traditional two-striker system. However, modern football has transitioned away from the two-striker formation, with wingers often cutting inside to occupy more central positions and full backs becoming wing backs who are now inside forwards.
      Due to the emphasis on key passes, assists, and goals in both football management simulations and real-world fan perception, inside forwards are frequently considered superior to wingers. While winger ability to create space and facilitate scoring opportunities for capable attacking minded midfielders is still underrated, no insider forward can do that if you have good attacking minded midfielders.
