Here I am renting a tiny apartment for $1200 a month in Portland, Oregon USA surrounded by homeless people and crime galore, I am seriously considering moving to Mexico and jumping around for a couple years since I can work anywhere with a wifi and single again! Thanks for the inspiration.
Same here!
Just some advice I live in Southern Idaho and housing and rent going up but some small towns still might have cheap rent. My rent 400. A month and has never gone up. Also in some places you can by land 1000. Acre but alot of these places are just land.
@@franktoledo6342 What is there to do In Idaho? There is no ocean at all and extremely cold. Yuckkk
@@beecool2984 We are 10 hours away from the beach only 7 hours if you live on the border we have nice lakes a stone throw from Oregon and Washington also Canada and Montana. Close to Wyoming and Utah on the borders. I could care less if people stop moving to Idaho less people is more for Idaho.
What are you waitin for, I thought, that’s plenty of money, I from mecsicou, she could save a lot of money if she cooks, like sea food is nice and fresh, and some restaurants once or twice a week, maybe like 200 dollars on food, and you can spend whatever you want in tours around islands etc, night clubs, whatever you want with the rest, so think about it, I realized that 1500 Is what you pay only for the rent.
She really hit the jackpot with her rental unit. So beautiful and in the middle of nature.
Marie Blyden, Surprisingly there are still good deals in her neighborhood and often available spaces in her complex. Most foreigners don't want to live in a neighborhood that far from the tourist zone.
@@LivingOverseasTV Do you live very happily in Mexico, but do you pay taxes like everyone else?
@@miguelperez8814 , Yes I do pay taxes. RUclips automatically calculates my income so for me it's an easy process. I also like to support local, non profit organizations wherever I am living. I believe in supporting the local community.
The quiet is a big plus.
Just perfect
Welcome to Mexico 🥰
My only recommendation if you’re planning on moving to Mexico is PLEASE don’t forget to break the ice and mix with the locals and also learn some Spanish! Most of the foreigners stay in their foreigner’s bubble and miss out from a wonderful experience. Also as a sign of respect to the locals 😁
yo as a sign of respect is it cool if mexicans that move to the US learn some english so they can mix with the locals as well or am i a racist for asking?
@@MrStayAlive “Yo” they do learn English or at least they really try their best to communicate in English when they’re interacting with English speaking people. If they choose to speak Spanish to their family members and you don’t like it, that’s another story. Anyway, English is not even the official language of the United States, is not in the constitution. Did you know that or do I have to teach you your own country’s history ?
@@ricochet2769 Spanish isnt even the official language of mexico it was braught there by the same people that killed everyone native to that place and enforced their religion on the people, same as in the states. All i did was ask a question you are the one implying I would be upset for them to speak their native tongue to their familys or implying that they dont try their best to learn english. i never said any of these things. you are proving my point here and you dont even realize it. The double standard is real. i asked a simple question. if i ask people to learn english as a sign of respect. thats how you put it. if i ask people to show me respect by learning my language is that racism or bigotry. or is it only classified as such bc im white? I find it offensive that you ask me to learn a language out of respect. I show respect in many ways I dont need to learn a language to do so. language is for communication. actions show respect. still waiting fo an answer to that question too. simple yes or no
@@MrStayAlive I won’t responde to your questions because the content in your answer tells me that you’re either a teenager or someone who is not educated to talk about this. So yeah, read some books first.
@@ricochet2769 escribe braught en lugar de brought, no sabe ni ingles el animalito, por supuesto que nunca va a aprender otro idioma, no el da el cerebro jajaja
I am Mexican and live in San Diego, but Puerto Vallarta looks beautiful and so affordable, with $300 here is not even enough for my monthly car gas. You guys have it all!
En realidad es caro, para la mayoría de vallartenses. Obviamente si reciben su salario en moneda extranjera, se les hace más barato
even the cartel
Especially now! Gas is over 300 for the month!
So go back.
@@davidbrown3971 I was just waiting for you to tell me.

And the rest of her too :)
@@stevenmeadows6917 Great camera work....
@@putheflamesoutyahoo1503 Ok Jimbo. I'll be in touch
I was thinking the same thing. LoL
Is that why it’s only $300 a month?
I made my move here in May. Your video was very instrumental in my research. Thank you so much for all that you do!
hi kelly, any updates?
I love everything about Dez's apartment. The layout and decor, the cozy outdoor patio, the location and view from those beautiful windows; all for $300/month! And her gorgeous kitty adds the sweetness. Puerto Vallarta is one of our favourite places to visit. It's beautiful and the people are friendly.
Did you happen to inderstand her when she gave the name of the neighborhood she lives in near the beginning of the video about 2-2.5 minutes in?
@@s.e.6616 She's in Colonia Buenos Aires.

Nice find. We had a bit bigger apartment in a tourist town in Estado de México and paid about 3 times that. But, we had 2 bedrooms, a covered terraza overlooking the lake and got to watch the most amazing sunsets. The inside of this apartment reminds me a bit of ours. Not as rustic a location but, 10 minute walk to town. Loved it.
We pay $700 a month for a 2+2 with partial ocean view in 5-D, BUT we have hills to climb so sometimes we take a taxi back up for only 50 pesos! Two people can live pretty well for $1600-1700 a month here!
Vicki Ladu, Thanks for taking the time to share your first-hand experience.
Would you say Spanish is a must have in PV or could one get by without?
@@LivingOverseasTV my question is when did she lease that unit as rents have gone up everywhere
Constance....back in December of last year. The rent would have been $1200, but a build is going up right in front of our living room balcony, so we will lose the beautiful ocean view (still have view from both bedrooms at least! Yes, rents have gone up since then.
Clinton.....Spanish does not need to be spoken much in the tourist areas of PV, but it’s helpful every where else.
My only problem with your channel is that you expose the reality of living in Mexico in that is safe & awesome. I prefer the the negative views on Mexico so it stays a hidden gem - nice & cheap for a very long-time.
Right on!
Lol.
Yes Mexico should pay for a wall to keep out the Americans 😅

Absolutely perfect, wonderful architecture, stone work, cute kitty. The flowering trees are phenomenal!😍
I'm jealous, someday I want to live there. I been to Puerto Vallarta at least 12 times but I never get tired of the scenery.

Dez,Is extremely happy and your plans are working!! God Bless Girl.
Hola Dez! This is Kelly from the bookstore. I was scrolling through RUclips when I saw your beautiful face pop up. I loved seeing where you sit to read the books. It helps to remind me that they are going with love to new homes and adventures of their own. We miss you. Come back in soon to say hello!
Awesome! Dez seems to have a beautiful spirit! That is in such short supply these days. Love it!
I'm Dez over heels in Love with Your positivity ,beauty and outlook on life !! Living life in your own terms and earning a living doing what You love GREAT for it only You but for all of Us 👍😃🤗
Very interesting and informative. Thank you for uploading.
I know of her, but I've never met her. She used to pop up on my Facebook feed quite often as we have a lot of mutual friends.
Cool little crib Dez.
Omgosh!!! I love this. I’m exploring ideas for the coming future especially since America has gone down the toilet. Also exploring vanlife so I can travel all the places I’ve never been in America but, again, this country is sucking more every day.
Approaching $5/gal van life is not attractive. Maybe the gas money would be more than living in PV like Dez's place.
Next February I’ll be going to Panamá and Colombia for 6 weeks.
I agree. And Canada isn't too far behind.
I agreed with you. Iam tried and iam going back to Mex somewhere.
I just got back after 2 years away. Just came back to sell everything and get the hell out.

I spent a month in PV . My buddy rented a huge beautiful house in Conches Chinas. The house came with a maid/chef who showed up every morning and cooked us breakfast!
I had the time of my life ...Beautiful, fun, inexpensive and safe.
Hmm. Sounds like where I go a couple times a year. Casa Joanne?
so sorry !! but renting a house in conchas chinas with a butler/maid/cook is NOT INEXPENSIVE AT ALL !
@@isauratorres9447 this was back in 1999...The house had two stories, 8 rooms , a really nice landscaped pool , maid-cook , ocean views and was only $2000 month !!

It's refreshing to see a different area to live then the classical 5D or Versalles.

Hi Dez. I am from México City which I love(the nice parts) and also I enjoy big cities like Guadalajara, Monterrey, Puebla, Queretaro etc. But now with the pandemic I try to look for smaller towns to visit and there are tons in México, by the way I've never been to Puerto Vallarta, it's true. Thx a lot for sharing this video so I can know a bit more about my country. Best wishes.

Hi Jim, Hi Dez. Thank-you for producing this great little video and sharing.
The editing and audio is great and Dez is a very good presenter.
I’ve been to Puerto Vallarta 5 times and I like to stay at the all inclusives because I can usually get a good deal from Vancouver, Canada when I want a two week vacation.
It’s nice to see others like yourselves who are a little smarter and more adventurous than me taking it further.
When she said boyfriend that just killed it. What a lucky man he is. A beautiful young lady
I’m not sure I would live there exactly, but I love this and I would totally do this - somewhere in Latin America. Mexico is also convenient back to the US. I just don’t know where I’d go yet. It would take me a while to find that fall-in-love- place that just feels right long term. I’ve been going to a Peru a lot (it’s definitely not there) lately, and will eventually continue to explore Chile and other South American countries. Kudos to this gal, good for her. Can’t beat the tranquility. Plus she’s gorgeous!
Very informative video - Thanks for sharing. I'd like to come down to PV this winter for a few months . Would love to get a similar place. Did you use broker services to find apartments?
