  • Before Pendolino and Voyager domination of long distance passenger services, HST 125s, classes 47, 82, 86 and 87 handled trains on these routes. Watch them again as well as classes 31 and 37s on more local routes and a variety of freight passing through the station. Also some railtour departures.

    We had fun in the mid 90s at the south end with some oddities and one off moments.

    I’m surprised how varied the traction is towards the early 2000s. I’m a bit gutted I wasn’t born a few years earlier so I could see all this instead of growing up with nothing but EMU and DMUs.

      Hi Carne - thank you for your comment. I didn't make a note of the tour date at the time but I've traced it to 11th April 1992 - it was the 'Carlisle Fifty Farewell' tour.
