Good review. Why the dislikes?
Haha Kenneth, dont worry. I know who does it, most of the local community know who he is. I don't mind at all :)
I sometimes think people can't differentiate between disliking the product reviewed and the video product. Both, in this case, are a thumbs up IMO.
de clicked lenses are for video makers
Never heard of this lens before. Thanks for the review. Great and fair as usual
you heard of it now ;) . Thanks Jamie!
Are you thinking of buying a fisheye lens? Which fisheye lens are you most interested in?
tamron 15-30mm f/2.8
This meike looks quite interesting.
TTartisan 11mm and samyang 12mm (both f2.8). A comparison would be nice!
Nice review. Wonder how the 6mm looks on the MFT version with it's higher crop factor? I have a 7-14 Panasonic for MFT, it does not go circular because of the corp factor, but I use it a lot when doing in european town shooting where you don't have any room to step back.
hi Steve, thanks! It would still be cropped a bit so you can't get the full circle as the lens was primarily designed for APSC cameras.
A declicked aperture/iris is useful for video/cinema shooting, as you can do an "iris pull" (change the exposure with the aperture) during a shot, without the jumps/steps in exposure that a clicked lens would give you. This is usually done with a mechanical or electric follow focus mechanism.
Now, as to how many people are doing iris pulls with fisheye lenses? Probably not many. I feel the Venn diagram of "people who will shoot with a fisheye" and "people with the gear, knowledge and need to do an iris pull" has verrrry little overlap.
Personally I just like a declicked aperture because it lets me adjust it much more finely.
It's also so film photographers can use the fisheye lens, de-clicked aperture is necessary on film cameras
Does this lens works for a Sony a7III?
From memory it doesn't straight out of the box.. and it's also not a full frame lens as well
How would it perform on Nikon z6ii?
It is for apsc camera so if use with z6ii there would be some strong vigetting or dark corners
For video
