    Great information! What brand of alkaline battery is the best to use for my Lopi Greenfield GSR2. I live in a cold climate. The batteries don't last long.

    How to activate the fan

    • @LopiNorthAmericasFavoriteFire
      @LopiNorthAmericasFavoriteFire  8 месяцев назад

      If a fan is installed with your particular gas unit, use the circle button on the remote to cycle through the different functions until you see a fan icon. Then use the arrow buttons to turn the fan on and off. If you do not see a fan icon, you will need to perform the battery trick shown at 6:10 of this video in order to turn the fan function back on. After you have done this, the fan icon will be revealed and you can operate it as you wish. If your unit is a wood burning appliance with an optional fan, you may need to manually turn a circular knob located near your air control lever. If you need additional assistance, please refer to your owners manual or contact the dealer that installed your appliance.

    This video is relevant and will be very helpful & instructive for new owners.
    The instructions in the provided (hard copy) manual cover these same operations and more. However, they are often poorly worded and/or poorly arranged in the 48-page manual, which introduces considerable confusion at times. I took the better part of 2 days to write up my own detailed instructions for a handy reminder (I'm 75 with a fading memory) in case I haven't had to make adjustments or corrections for a while, but mainly I did this for whoever the future owner might be to make things easier for them. With all the variations such as "hold this button down or these 2 buttons down while you remove & replace a battery" and then having to jump through some other hoops, the entire process can become frustrating and aggravating. "Simplicity of operation" for newcomers was obviously not an engineering goal, or if it was they missed by a mile.
    Okay, that's the complaining side of my comment. On the plus side, I absolutely delight in my Lopi gas stove (aka fireplace), and now that I have mastered the control intricacies I have no problems with operations. I had the stove installed almost 6 years ago (new construction), and I have no regrets at all. I use it often, preferring the "intermittent pilot light" mode at all times since I have no problems with condensation appearing on the safety glass, so there is no need for me to ever use the "continuous pilot light" mode to reduce condensation.

    The flame comes on fine. I can see the icons (fan, lights, etc.) Problem is that when I hit the fan option, the toggle button does not work and I can't adjust the fan up or down. Same with the light option. I can't get the lights to come on or dim. The toggle button is not working. Also, same problem with flames. Toggle button does not adjust the flames. Any suggestions?

      It's hard to say without knowing the details of your particular situation / installation. It is recommended that you reach out to the dealer that installed your product for assistance. Additionally, the owners manual and other resources are available online.

    The recent power outage both my inserts quit. After 3 hours I plugged into my generator. Nothing for 5 minutes then the fan came on, nothing else. When the power came on I had to synchronize the insert and remote. Insert then worked. Question: why didn't the inserts work when the power went out.

      This is way too late to be of help for you, but as a Lopi owner myself I suspect that your batteries in the "insert" (meaning a wall-installed stove/fireplace unit itself) needed to be replaced since a good battery charge is required to light the pilot. When your power came back on then the control circuitry within the base of the stove took over from the (likely weak) backup batteries installed there. Personally, I prefer using the more expensive 1.5 volt lithium batteries in both the stove and the remote for their much longer life. Less hassle overall and the possible need to re-synchronize is greatly reduced.

    my remote won’t connect. The installers even used several other remotes and they won’t connect. Brand new 616 Ember Glo unit.

      Hopefully for your sake someone finally got you up & running. Obviously, these particular installers did not have a clue. My guess is that no one knew how to synchronize any of the remotes to your stove unit, which is a requirement. Check minute 0:40 in the video for synchronization instructions. (Check or replace all batteries for a fresh start if needed.) Your hard copy manual that the dealer should have provided also has instructions for doing this.
