Meh, I appreciate your kind words, but the clear coat is peeling off the hood and roof, and there is a dent behind the left rear wheel. Interior should be getting a refresh in summer of 2021, as well as a new windshield ( it's mega pitted from the six years it spent in Nevada) and wheels and tires hopefully. Again, thank you for your comments.

My 94 k2500s transmission just went out early this year. It was my farm truck and daily driver but I live in Indiana and the salt was eating away at the body and frame so I decided it wasn’t worth putting a new tranny in. Broke down and bought a 2014. First vehicle I’ve ever had a payment on (sucks) but the first vehicle I’ve had that was made in this century. It’s nice not having to work on something at last once a month, and I’m being spoiled on all fancy tech and stuff but I truly miss the pure utility of my older truck. I’ll probably find another one to use on the farm and tinker with. Hopefully one that’s not completely are up from salt.

I love this thank you for doing a review.
My dad bought his 96 silverado 1500, extended cab for $900. It's green and I just love it
It's green and we've been working on it for about three years.
So far we've replaced the front end we built a racing transmission for it.
We lowered it 3-4 inches we have some black rims on it with street tires.
    It's running really good altogether
We have a flowmaster super 10 on it as well.
This summer we plan to build a 383 stroker for it, put a bigger cam on it, maybe a supercharger, some long tubes, some new seats, and a couple of other things here and there.
He uses it as a work truck and he's a painter so there are specks of white paint all over it, so we might end up getting it repainted. And replacing the lights with LEDs.
Anyways thank you for your time, and keep up with the OBS, wish I had one.

People say that the rubber is to soft and they don't last long, but mine lasted 7 yrs as daily driving tires plus a quite a bit of off roading before they got to the wear lines. And they look killer. I currently own a 1996 C1500, a 1997 C2500, a 2003 1500 & a 2011 Denali Duramax 2500 HD. The 1997 C2500 & 2011 2500 HD were both bought brand new. The 1996 was bought with 72K miles & the 2003 with 108K miles. I bought those two trucks for my two oldest sons, but I still have both of them after they got older and bought theirselves new trucks.
I will kick rocks at the 2003 1500 & 2011 Duranax 2500 HD as I walk past them to get to my 1996 C1500 or 1997 C2500, especially to get to the 1997 C2500 truck !!!
That 1997 C2500 Chevrolet truck is the single best money that I’ve ever spent on anything in my lifetime. 464K miles, all factory original truck outside of the rims, radio, headlights & parking light assembly’s. That truck was bought & used for the purpose that it was built for, as the majority of those 464K miles that truck has had a duel tandem 25ft gooseneck trailer hooked to the back of it, it’s routinely pulled more weight than what it’s rated for. I’ve replaced 1 starter, 1 radiator, 1 water pump, 1 fan clutch, 1 fuel pump & 1 A/C Compressor over that 24 years & 464K mile time period on that truck. !!!!
If there’s one thing that I know is gonna crank each & every time I hit the key, well it’s that green & brown 1997 C2500 Chevrolet truck. Just like the guy in the video said about his, I’ll never get rid of that truck, because that ole girl has certainly earned her keep, it’s been responsible in some way shape or form in helping to pay for everything I own !!!!

I’m late to the video but perfect timing I was considering finding a 2015 for the same reason in case my old obs kicks dirt in crucial times. 2015 is the last front end I appreciate from the modern years and that green is what I’d go for too. Sweet trucks man. Even your obs i plan on taking my back seats out too, I’ve got a stepside tho. I love the obs so much i almost want to buy a single cab stepside z71 though the newest i can find is 1991. Anyways sorry for the ramble great video!

I've owned Ford's and Dodges, and Chevys have been only one since the past 20 years I do respect the little Tacoma though good little trucks bit you feel like an elf inside of those they're so tight in the cab

The styling looks more refined on the older truck, at least to me. I don't like those bulgy front fenders and that oversized grille on the newer truck. But I could go for that green colour any day. I guess I'm prejudiced since I have a '97.

Goals man🔥🤙, I love the color. green is my favorite as well. I have a 95 C1500 original pushing 324K Miles 😳. Trying to modernize it a bit and mix the two aspects of today and the past into the 95 without fucking it up

I don't really consider a 98 obs, I mean yea it's square on the out side but that inside is just to newish. Obs stopped in 94 for me when everything was still square inside and out

Wonder why you see so many interior variations with 94/95. Mine looked so old and square inside (preferable) to one in same year or more. Hard to find that again.

    What is "oil sprayed"?
I'd like to do that to my 98.

    • @marklucas1028
      @marklucas1028 3 года назад +1

It's when oil is literally atomized and sprayed on the chassis and everywhere moisture can collect. The oil that was used on my truck was fresh 30 weight that was heated and sprayed under pressure. My 2015 gets Fluid Filmed. It's way more pricey but definitely worth it.

99 to 2006 is the best Chevy truck ever built. Might be the best truck ever It's right in the middle It still has torsion bar in the front but it's kind of old school small block no VVT no cylinder deactivation but at the same time it's new age new coils better injection system simple though Right in the middle perfect I'm way more power too but I will say those 350s I felt like had more bottom and grunt than even the new 53 and those square boys look the best
