Beautiful romantic ballad "wanting You," starring incomparable world famous duo the supreme talents of Nelson Eddy & Jeanett MacDonald, raised this classical music eposode to hit the blue skies & the stars sparkled in enjoyment. Golden words by Peter E. Farrar.
My father loved Nelson's voice, I listened with him, bought the 33s, taped the movies, and finally was able to take Dad to enjoy Nelson in Montreal in 1965 or 66.
As we are telling our past, my memory is being dragged up the aisle at about 5 years, screaming, and my embarrassed mother saying, "yes, all right, we'll bring you back to see it again, but we have already sat through it two times and we have to go." That was l935, Naughty Marietta, and I still wonder why a five year old little girl was so powerfully affected by the voices, and of course the romantic story of Naughty Marietta, and..still is. Thank you for all your work in posting these works.
My mom watched all of Jeanette and Eddy's movies. I sang along and loved opera because of Jeanette's wondrous voice, even winning some awards. They may never know how much we LOVED their talent!
Ever since high school version of "Sweethearts" I have been a fan of operetta's, oh what simpler and wish today's youth would just listen and hear what real singing was about. Thank youtube and the wonderful folks who post music that wasn't crass, loud or dissonant! My wife's granny who came over from Germany in 1921 was smitten by Nelson and Jeanette it is easy to see why!!
Look 👀 at Our Jeanette eyes!! Full of love 💕 for her Nelson ❤❤. And Our Beloved Nelson has only eyes 👀 for his Beautiful Jenny! ❤❤ALWAYS and FOREVER 💕💕🌹🌹
I haven't heard this song in a long, long time. My mother had a recording of "Naughty Marietta" and it was one of the first pieces of music I ever heard.
Great Video! Sorry for the intrusion, I am interested in your opinion. Have you researched - Saankramer Love Trick System (do a search on google)? It is a good exclusive guide for falling in love with an amazing partner minus the hard work. Ive heard some extraordinary things about it and my best friend Jordan finally got astronomical results with it.
When you see and hear the beauty of these two people all of a sudden, I wish they could have stayed young forever and lived forever because there has never been anything like them since. But then this world today with it's gangster rap, it's filthy movies and videos and words to songs that are sung by so called singers and entertainers, wouldn't even understand this beauty.
You said it all, I am 86 and haved loved them from the beginning. I ditto your thoughts exactly, and am on youtube to watch all of their performances that I can squeeze into every day. Thankyou so much for your thoughts!!!!!
I agree with you. During times if severe hardship in those days the movies were happy, uplifting, happy and lovely costumes. We will never see it again. So sad, too bad.
Yes thank you so very much for all you did to put these precious expressions of love for us to experience Words cannot convey what a beautiful gif thry are Thank you May your heart be blessed as you helped to bless ours
Tenia 10 años cuando vi "Melodia de Broadway" en el Cine Coliseo SanSalvador,; ahora tengo "Roberta" y otros del dúo que e traen bellos recuerdos.Mario Avalos Perez. Crcas., Vzla.
Sooo Lovely! And yes as someone remarked below, it is so wonderful that movies like this are on RUclips. A strange home for such beautiful things, but a home nevertheless.
@@StevenErnest It wasn't a story. They were expecting a baby together when Jeanette fell down a flight of stairs while filming. They lost the baby. Both fell into a deep depression which lasted for years. The studio kept it quiet since they weren't married.
This song was revived for the show Thoroughly Modern Millie, which starred Sutton Foster and the late Gavin Creel in their Broadway debuts. They didn't sing it though.😊
you can not hide the love that is in their eyes it so there for all to behold and I for one love them ,I pray they are together in heaven ,that is true love I see when I watch them ...

DALLAS, I WAS 9 YRS OLD IN 1935 WHEN I SAW THAT FILM AND I WAS IN LOVE WITH JEANETTE ALL MY LIFE,UNTIL I MET MY WIFE I HOPE MY WIFE WHO,USURPED HER, IS NOW IN HEAVEN NEVER KNOWS THIS :):):)
If only I had learned to flirt. Mothers, please teach your daughters to flirt, but not to tease. Important difference. I think it has something to do with the eyes and touch. but still clueless at 77. just a dumb engineer.
Crossing the fingers is an old American custom...probably before that maybe from England...which means you are not telling the truth, or shouldn't be doing this; you are concealing something or it is naughty, but crossing your fingers means it is really all right, sort of a joke on someone.
My mother told me the cinema was always packed when showing a Mac/Eddy film. Beautiful couple, glorious voices.
Could wear out a record just replaying it. Always Jeanette and Nelson. Calms the world. Always good movies too.

I love this song. Almost as much as "Ah, Sweet Mystery of Life".
Sadly, though, this has yet to be released on DVD.
Mac&Eddymagic thank you and your freinds for recreating such lovely nostalgia of Jeanette and her Nelson.
You are most welcome.
Just wonderful love Nelson singing this song to his Jeanette.
There are a number of 'more modern' movies available to view in full on RUclips and so it should be with irreleplacsble classics like this!!!!
2 beautiful people!

i MET nELSON eDDY BEFORE HE DIED AND HE WAS DEFINTIELY STILL IN LOVE WITH jEANETTE
Please don't spread that nonsense about their "secret love affair, " etc.
They were movie Sweethearts only, as far I'm concern. Let's keep it clean and honest entertainment. Thanks.
Thank you for seeing the truth of his love and sharing it
They loved each other, no secret.

God that second time he sings.. one can’t blame Jeannette for swooning over him.
They used to show Naughty Marietta on the early days of cable TV.
you can not hide the love that is in their eyes it so there for all to behold and I for one love them ,I pray they are together in heaven ,that is true love I see when I watch them ...

I have most all of these movies; if you want to escape from the ugly in our world, just watch one. JW
Men should take a page out of Nelson Eddy's book when romancing a woman.
Alas, the spell holds no sway over maidens' hearts these days... 😔
