RUclips comments are at present disabled in our channel, to the displeasure of some. However, each video has a prominent link to the associated open thread that appears on our blog. In the past we've tried opening up the channel to comments, but we found that a very high number of episodes wound up being flooded with a combination of spam, long winded apologists, and various obscene or misogynistic comments directed at various hosts by people with an axe to grind. This seems to be the nature of RUclips comment sections, in our experience.
We do moderate the blog, the same way that we moderate chat during the show, as well as comments on our Facebook group. For comment sections that are "officially" associated with our show (and, to a much lesser extent, channels that may give the unintended appearance of being official), we prefer not to play host to straight up ad hominem attacks and bigotry. As a general policy we do not block commenters simply on the basis of disagreement with our point of view. However, we do prefer discussion environments that don't actively chase off more reasonable contributors.

WHAT IS THE ATHEIST EXPERIENCE?
The Atheist Experience is a weekly call-in television show in Austin, Texas geared at a non-atheist audience. The Atheist Experience is produced by the Atheist Community of Austin.
The Atheist Community of Austin is organized as a nonprofit educational corporation to develop and support the atheist community, to provide opportunities for socializing and friendship, to promote secular viewpoints, to encourage positive atheist culture, to defend the first amendment principle of state-church separation, to oppose discrimination against atheists and to work with other organizations in pursuit of common goals.
We define atheism as the lack of belief in gods. This definition also encompasses what most people call agnosticism.

Daniel ABSOLUTELY said atheist at start of his call
He’s also criticising his straw man version of “most atheists” while simultaneously claiming to know and detect a god that is, by definition, undetectable. Daniel is no smarter than the first buffoon who called in.
Corey seems like a boy that gets his ass kicked alot then claims he won because the person stopped hitting him!
He's the epitome of a pigeon playing chess.
😂
Why would you want to stop hitting him?
@@24magiccarrot to avoid getting covered in mucus. Because he is the type of kid who is always coughing and sneezing on people. You can hear the congestion and his voice.
daniel you got shot down in every way go watch the vid and laugh at yourself
Daniel - “Wow, okay, you lost a point there guys”.
By making a point that proved my point to be wrong.
?!?! Little wonder he’s fallen for the most nonsensical crap we’ve ever heard. He sees the opposite of what truly is.
Ultimate Justice:
Do what I demand or I burn you forever. If I tell you to murder, then murder is justice. If I tell you who to love, then burning you for loving the wrong person is ultimate justice.
Oh and by the way, if you beg me to forgive you, you can get away with almost any evil, and even if you are a perfect person, if you don't believe in me I will still burn you, and that's ultimate justice.
Its so mind blowing people fall for this religion crap…just WOW 😳🙄
"Go ahead, you can forfeit" may be the dumbest but best line on AXP, ever!
Don has the best laugh.
I glanced at the comments and read this one right at 15:08 haha
Sorry, but I have to give the best laugh of the show to Chuck from Hawaii. Seriously, if you're not familiar, look him up. He's a batshit crazy theist but his laugh is magical.

Daniel: "What motivated you to BE an atheist?"
An atheist isn't BEING something.
Rather it's about NOT being something.
Nah, it’s something, for sure.
All you have to do is define it.
That’s what it is.
Corey: Pride goes before falling flat on your face looking like you don't care about truth, just making yourself feel better about criticization.
The extent to which religion scrambles your brain never ceases to amaze me
A lot of times, leaving a religion doesn't fix this problem. A lot of my fellow atheists just swapped religion for politics. I'm very skeptical of people like that. Especially pro choice folks. Once their argument is "it's her body her choice" i know they are just repeating what their preacher told them. The subject of abortion is more nuanced. That's one way to weed them out.
Not saying I'm not pro choice, I'm just giving an example of a switch of religion for politics. Please don't attack me
@@ErinnnnL >>>>The subject of abortion is more nuanced.............. indeed it is. "Pro Choice" and "Pro Life" simply do not get to the heart of the issues and in many ways tend to squash productive discussion and debate. I'm technically "pro choice" but there has got to be a line in there somewhere, and that line (I suppose) would be at the stage of viability. On the one hand I cannot see the government stepping in and preventing an abortion for a woman who has just found out that she is preggers ....... on the other hand I cannot see it acceptable that a woman who is about to give birth suddenly saying "I've changed my mind, kill it". But nowadays it goes even further to the point where abortion advocates are saying that the woman should have the ability to "terminate" the child even AFTER birth as we see Democrats objecting to the 'Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act'. Further, allowing abortion for the "mental health of the mother" opens up such a gaping loophole as to make any pro-life legislation meaningless .... which of course is the whole idea.
As for substituting politics for religion, that's an interesting take on things. I would like to hear someone bring it up on AE. One of the areas where Matt and I depart is on politics. He generally takes a very left/liberal position, while I am (in general) more conservative (especially on economic issues). Matt is in the group who say "it's her body her choice", and as you correctly point out, the issue is far more nuanced than that glib slogan suggests.
Forget Covid or all diseases. Religion is the most deadly poison in history. If we don’t find an antidote soon the human species will cease to exist.
@@ErinnnnL That makes no sense. In what regard are "politics" and "religion" swapping places? Are religious people not politically active? Who is the preacher in the context of a phrase used by a civil rights movement? Why are you posting things that make you look like a dumbfuck and then asking "pwease don't attack me"?
Daniel's family are still looking for him. I hear he hit the road under a false name and now panhandles along the west coast. 😞
If that's not accurate, it ought to be. Daniele le Douche....
Are you saying Daniel is a serial killer?
The number of clowns that called in this week was astonishing!
Callers: Please blow your nose before calling. Thanks, The Audience
John from Topeka definitely had a gram of Colombian marching powder in his nose
Corey. For the evidence of Ra, I would need to see a being of an eagle body on a male torso with legs. Swoop down from the sun.
For Anubis, I would need to see a similar thing but jackel instead of eagle.
For Odin, I would need a muscular man with one eye, two ravens, welding a spear to be able to take me to Asgard, or test his skills of communication with the ravens.
Mildly joking aside, different sorts of god's will require different kinds of evidence. Saying what powers the God has will dictate what valid evidence is needed.
Corey sounded like a theist who lost every discussion with every atheist ever, and he seems very stressed out about it..
Oh, Daniel knew the conclusion of the kalam alright , that's why he ran away.
I think he left because he was being yelled at and Matt started being Matt, I'm sure he was more than willing to hear what it was, just not belittled into hearing it.
@@ErinnnnL Maybe go back and listen to David talk the entire time, then tell me how willing he was to listen.
Also, not that idiots first call to the show, he's been an arrogant idiot several times before too.
yup ran away and cried a little
The problem of evil refers to the question of how to reconcile the existence of evil with an omnipotent, omnibenevolent and omniscient God (see theism). An argument from evil claims that because evil exists, either God does not exist or does not have all three of those properties.
Holy crap, listen to Nick, coming up with one excuse after another.
"biblical evidence" sounds like "smurfs that print money and then give it to me" - wishful thinking

1:26:40 "Unless your world view is biblical, your world view is incoherent." I often wonder what they tell in indoctrination schools, but I guess it is that kind of crap.
I don't wanna victim blame but Corey had it coming lol
That first chick was nuts.
What was her problem?
“Am I the host?” Then she ran off squawking.

Well he has more issues than I initially thought.
I hope he gets help.
Sounded like a dumb teen.
Corey is a longtime troll. Calls in just to be contrary and dickish.
I think it was a rooster.
even if there is an omni-god, you still have to accept "all this immorality". It doesn't go away even if there's some "ultimate justice" (which there isn't)
Immorality still exists, people still do immoral things, you just get to pretend that somehow, in some afterlife you can prove, they will be punished for it...
that's fucking sick. why wouldn't a truly all powerful god find a way to rehabilitate the "sinners" instead of simply punishing them (for eternity)?
This one of the best shows in this channel
Nick read the "original Greek bible" ... but the land of the Christian god character never spoke or wrote Greek. WTF?
But, but ‘god’ promised to preserve his word! So he had his son hang with 12 guys none of whom could write. Then for 30-50 years Jesus story was passed on with oral history (the telephone game). Then the Bible was written by anonymous men, later rewritten by more anonymous men and even later rewritten by more anonymous men. And god also said there would be one language but that was a lie too.
The caller's really destroyed themselves in this episode.
~ Thank you for reminding your public to read headlines and news articles with all their reason, logic, and critical thinking skills. Americans need to be reminded of ALL the important and obvious "things." Cheers, DAVEDJ ~
davedj, i've noticed that you are apparently revisiting all these old videos, which i assume you watched when they originally aired. i've been binge watching a lot of these myself and have seen your recent comments reaffirming the contents and the lessons contained therein. i think that's cool, davedj. carry on... :-)
I submit the following proof that there is no omni-god:
1. Assuming God is omnipotent, and omniscient, omni-everything and wants to expand his flock.
2. One day God decided to kill a parent, one of his own, a believer, because he can, or because he needed another angel or whatever - and left two children to be raised by the other parent, an unconverted unbeliever.
3. Then the remaining parent taught the children to think for themselves and they grew to have no belief in God. If he exists and is omni he of course knew all this.
4. So God deliberately reduced his own flock, or is not omnipotent, and omniscient so is not God.
5. Therefore God does not exist.
Nick is why mockery is the only appropriate response after 5 minutes of reasoning is afforded.
Without Krishna there can be no ultimate justice.
Without Allah there can be no ultimate justice.
Without Shiva there can be no ultimate justice.
Without Jehovah there can be no ultimate justice.
Just more authority figures that humans can't agree
on or confirm.
Even though Matt said Helen Keller, I thought he said Anne Frank🤔
It’s scary there are so many Coreys out there. How can humanity survive with so many stupid, ignorant people? Religions have poisoned billions of people’s minds. They’re still living in a world thousands of years ago.
As far as what evidence would convince me of the Christian God: In almost any scenario I can think of, my first thought would be that I had a psychotic break. Voices in my head? I’d call a psychiatrist. But Matt is right - a God should know.
I like Corey’s squeaky girly voice.
Nick is a good file case. He made himself god which is the case for 100% of religious believers; which unbeknownst to them makes them ALL Atheists. Welcome to the club.
Did he really say 'The Old Testament's purpose is to validate the New Testament.'?? Wow. That's a mess.
Heaven must be one packed place. There literally has to be Trillions of "Souls" there. I'm not sure I would be a fan of that. Sharing space with children that suffered and died wouldn't sound like that much of an afterlife.
Nick just creates his own god and then pretends to believe in it. Nick is just another cherry- picking Christian who does not want to have to defend the bible.
Nickianity ... haha
The first 2 callers had to be friends.
Either they’re both trolling.
Or both halfwits.
Bit of both.
I love the guy from India :) I hope he's doing well.
Damn, this would be great maybe if this could be heard at the end.
I own a home in Clearwater and the scientologists shuttle buses Drive constantly in front of my house and they are absolutely everywhere because I live just 6 minutes from the bridge to the beach. But I've never really come into contact with more than a couple. And none never Force anything on me. But they are absolutely everywhere when you walk through downtown and they are absolutely everywhere. I have walked the streets at night going to restaurants or bars or whatever and they will have meetings with the doors open and on multiple occasions I have debated trying to just sneak in and sit down and see how long it takes them to notice. But Typically there's no way that that would be possible without being seen as the speakers are looking for most directly at the door. But someday.
Is there such a thing as a "poor scientologist"?
I mean what if you have no extra cash, how
far can you go in that organisation?
@@moodyrick8503I wouldn't know.
love the classic videos of these guys. too bad the aca board went rouge
Just because I'm having a pedantic moment, like Matt occasionally does:
Kalam Cosmological Argument:
Whatever begins to exist has a cause.
The universe began to exist.
Therefore, the universe has a cause.
Matt occasionally adds the wording from the classical Cosmo argument.
What the absolute bumbling fuck is "to live in faith of" if it isn't belief?
Making excuses why to not accept a church invite? "Because I don't want to." You're not a child, you make your own choices.
What is the purpose of talking to presuppositionalists? They believe they know both sides of the argument before their interlocutors even open their mouths. Presuppositionalists are the lowest-level thinkers masquerading as psychics. Why bother conversing with them if they believe they know the workings of everyone else's minds. If this is true, the need for conversations are rendered moot.
Corey was obviously trolling.
He's called before. Idk he seems serious
JOHN;
The *Big Book of Science* is packed with tons of information
about how the natural world works.
The *Big Book of God* is filled with empty pages because
we have no idea "how" God does ANYTHING.
Hey Daniel, you didn't make yourself look very good today.
Daniel’s dad should have pulled out.
Corey:”How can you invalidate a claim?”
Nobody needs to invalidate your unproven claim, child.🤤
I’d like to see Daniel’s proof for his claims about what “most atheists” think.
Like many ignorant theists, Daniel believes lying about atheists will help him prove his imaginary god exists.
“Here’s what’s relevant.”
Religious apologists love to try to tell other people what to think, even though they don’t learn any logic.
22:29 he actually says atheist instead of deist.
Corey is a clown.
You misspelled douche.
Saved??? Like rescued? And from what? A I in danger? From what?
Wow... John talking about "the Christian position" makes clear how obnoxious such a position is. Bad enough that their positions are so toxic, but they top it off with insisting they can speak for atheists. Truly obnoxious and toxic, indeed.
I have a sneaking suspicion Nick never even read the Bible.
To answer the question about the belief that those who die become angels, there are verses that might lead one to such a belief, even if they shouldn't:
Luke 20:36 New International Version (NIV)
36 and they can no longer die; for they are like the angels. They are God’s children, since they are children of the resurrection.
Matthew 22:30 New International Version (NIV)
30 At the resurrection people will neither marry nor be given in marriage; they will be like the angels in heaven.
If anyone takes these verses to prove "becoming angels" thing These both say 'like' angels nor are angels. And they talk about spesific people not everyone
Gotta love Don. His laugh is so enjoyable.
So if I was the king of the world, the world would be great. Don Baker is funny! Bring back Don Baker!
I wonder how many atheists Daniel has come across to make such blanketed statements
I love when they bring up faith it means they know it is bullshit
Good one.
I like to think im a good person. But, if I ever heard that Corey was sodomized to death, I would laugh hysterically for years.
Old encyclopedias have some strange definitions/descriptions of atheists.
Corey is a tightly wound mess. I bet he is a riot to spend time with.
Tom, just keep on like nothing is a miss. If someone mentions god, which probably won't happen that often, and you wanna say something, cool, if not, cool. You don't owe anybody anything.
Nick, Nick, Nick! 😢
Jeff made me nervous.
Who?
Daniel. Wow. "They are concluding, and rationallty justifying..."
Who are? The 95% of atheists with bad/no reason. The stat he pulled out of his ass and asserted to back up his assertion about that group.
So he concluded a thing. And is rationally justifying that thing...
Nick. All this horrible stuff that oes on in the world. What horrible stuff? Oh ya, God flodded the whole world because people were so wicked. They worked on the Saboth, they wore mixed cloth, they ate shell fish, they coveted. For these sins they were all drowned including all land animals and other beings. Makes sense, Sure.

If Tom in Clearwater is not convinced there is a god, that is not the same as not believing there is a god. Matt's wording to his question should have been, "Do you believe there is a god?" With this question, "no" does mean Tom is an Atheist.
Not being convinced can mean you're an Atheist but it typically means you're not sure if evidence either does or can exist. That's the definition of agnostic.
You have to be convinced to believe in a god or gods.
Atheism is everything other than that.
@@robwolchek2265 yes. You do have to be convinced to believe in a god(s) but you can also be convinced there is no god as well.
Atheism isn't everything other than that because not being convinced can mean you're either an agnostic or an atheist depending on the connotation.
Saying you dont believe is a direct statement that means you are an Atheist and can't it mean anything else.
In Tom's case, based on the way I interpreted what he said, I'd say he's agnostic, not Atheist.
@@guitargodthor2 Oh please I'm not playing this game with you. I'm not convinced a god exist and i am an atheist.
@@robwolchek2265 as I said, not being convinced has 2 meanings. I'm not convinced and I'm also an atheist. How do you not understand? It's more accurate to say, "I dont believe" so that's what I normally say.
@@guitargodthor2 More accurate according to you. Not being convinced is very well accurate for me and others.
Complete Word Salad that says nothing except "believe in me and worship me or I will torture you forever. " Nice loving god you have there.
My question to you is 2 fold. Why would you worship a person who has the all mighty power yet chooses to do nothing when say a child is being raped. Maybe ever one of your children. He stands by watching it happen then says I will punish you when you pass. What type of monster do you worship?
A lot of skipping near the end.
You can't justify believing in a god based on the idea that in the afterlife, justice will be done.
If there is a god who cares about humans a little bit, wouldn't she make sure we don't get sick ?
Wouldn't she prevent husbands from restricting their wives freedom ?

I think a better solution would be to tax the Democratic and Republican Parties.
1:26:15 Wow, that's handy ! So god has "revealed" that everybody believes in him ... Of course he would believe that, why would anybody not believe him ? Because most people in the world practice ANOTHER religion, or NO religion, or live in a society without religion. Now, that is handy, so if a non-believer tells a Christian he doesn't believe, he is lying, because god claims they do believe ? I mean, what kind of bent idea is that ? It's pretty obvious that religion is really desperate for lost souls.

30:25 what the hell are you doing, Don.
Wrong, actually in islam the way to get saved is to do good deeds and not sin and do bad deeds, so its not the same as christianity its not just accepting Mohammad into your heart or anything like that, mohammad is just the messenger you have to believe in the message and live by it, it dont matter if your a believer, if you dont act it your still going to hell so just in that by your standards you should be a muslim.
