With this amount of frequent videos I refuse to believe this is the real Dylan. This must be either generated by AI or some aliens pretending to be Dylan.
I think you are right. The real Dylan wears that white “doctors coat”…
Something isn’t right here.
@@MarkoZen81😂😂😂Nailed It
@@MarkoZen81 We already know he's (massively) overpaid by NASA. Being replaced by an Alien is the logical next step.
Using your cute kids to emotionally blackmail new subscribers ? Perfect move - I salute you good sir. Also puppies are an excellent source of new subs ( and cute girls in their swimming togs, but that's another day's work). Thanks again, Dylan.
I saw that image on instagram while I was pooping today. Loved it, and didn't realize you posted a video. Watching it, I think you should restock your beer.
Hehe
Now I am also pooping and just posted my sunspot image on the instagram as well. What glorious times. Still struggle focusing though. On the sun
Holy cow that's a big one! (That's what she said)
Using those 220V adapters again I see. This turned out really well!
So handy!
This sunspot gave me the most breathtaking aurora I've ever witnessed over germany. It was mesmerizing and so bright, one could easily read newspaper under it. All those colours it produced are something I'll never forget.
Thank you AR3664 for the G5 storm you produced this night.
Wow!
@@DylanODonnell just a few minutes ago it produced an X5.89 Flare. I'm waiting for SOHO/LASCO imagery to be updated, but i can already see another CME from an earlier eruption. This may not be the end of AR3664 :)
I did a short video of it, it was that bright. Can't wait for the hundreds of pictures i took! Especially one where a bright fireball went right through the Aurora.
@@meloney wow! Does this mean an extension to aurora?
@@davepastern yes likely. We captured a partial- but potential full Halo CME from that Sunspot with an earth directed component. It should arrive today (12) later in the evening (europe) or early/somewhere around the 13. That sunspot is a banger with big flares and eruptive CMEs :)
I have a few shorts how the aurorae looked. It was really bright. I might upload the CME later too. We are essentially not yet done with geomagnetic storming! And all of that when i still have to work on all the hundreds of photos i took... :)
Looks hot!
Your videos are the best i guess bro
I’m pulling for ya Dylan, let’s go 100k subscribers
Sweet image. Have been doing visual on that sunspot. Must image it. Cheers.
Dylans Been Abducted By Aliens Because His Kids Dont Respect Him😜😜😜Man Outside Says..”How Do You Like Me Know❤️😂😂🤣😂🤣😂
Thanks for the h heads-up 😊.
I got some video and stills of the sunspot today. 5-10-2024, and TL video and stills of a spectacular aurora. I'm in bottle 9. And it was still spectacular! 20 or so years ago I saw one at my same home. Probably less LP. Being able to capture it was super fun😂. Having the tech at my fingertips is awsome.
Yes the sun is really active right now (5/10/24 ) and the sun spots are in clusters with 12 or more sun spots grouped in ovals and others. Using a little 80 MM Celestron Powerseeker ED $80 scope from e-bay and solar filter and 12.5mm eye piece on my old Meade XL70 EQ mount. High desert north west Arizona. Have fun. Great videos
So that's the crack of dawn they keep talking about...
Fantastic images of solar flares and sun spots.
".....Although X is the last letter, there are flares more than 10 times the power of an X1, so X-class flares can go higher than 9. The most powerful flare measured with modern methods was in 2003, during the last solar maximum, and it was so powerful that it overloaded the sensors measuring it. The sensors cut out at X28."
Incredible. Fingers crossed.
Much better composition with the Barlow/powermate.
Oh man I was hoping you were going to make a vid about it. Wanted to look but my solar filter still isn't here yet, so I just squinted when I looked through the scope. It was cool but I caught my hair on fire. Will bring a fire extinguisher next time.
Awesome capture tho! Those prominences are massive
Okay! You may have just pushed me to buy a sun filter. Maybe you should print out the image to be on the safe side. If our computers stop working we might have to write on paper and do Visual astronomy!
Superb group and image , i imaged it a few days later because of the weather, rewarded with an X2.9 flare during the session
Well played...lol You never fail to amuse, entertain, and educate, all in one fell swoop. I got the same picture the day before, way cool!
Apparently this little blow out is 17 times the size of our Home, Earth. Pity the overcast skies we have at the moment.
Should get some aurora out of this one. Hopefully the weather holds out but I don't like our chances
Hi Dylan, Yesterday i Made a similar Image of the sun from Germany:-)
could be a G4 or maybe G5 storm! impact in europe, saturday night arount 2 am.
Yup, could see it with my eclipse goggles
Insane
Don't smile! The classic reverse psychology on little ones for a photo that one
Better to use mono camera and low gain to get low noise. Topaz denoise can process out noise or use masks
I looked at it today as wel even did some visual with the c8 on it with a white light filter and a 3x powermate 😏
I just came home from photographing the mid latitude aurora that was the result of the activity of that sunspot...
The quality you get from that 40mm lens is astounding!
Sounds like it was pretty strong
@@DylanODonnell definitely! RUclips Video (just a Time-lapse) is currently uploading
Ohh wow! I want a solar scope so bad LOL great job! Love your work!
Tomorrow is get my coronado pst 0.5 angstrom😊
Awesome final image 👏🏻👏🏻
I did a poop that looks like a sunspot. So there's that.
Epic video and I’m digging the tunes.
near daily Dylan keep it up!!! I don't care what its about I LOVE watching you and probably up there with my fav RUclipsr thanks!!
Hey thanks Brad!
Yes, massive activity. On Aurora watch up here in Central Canada..
GOOD JOB !
Should be a good one !
BEAUTY 🤩! Thanks! My kids do respect me I guess, at least they still come and ask for my advice although they are adults now. But theirs and my wife’s interest in my BEAUTIFUL Astrofoto-hobby? Close to ZERO 😱😩🤩😆!
Hehe I feel that too :)
Nice image! Is that the Televue PMT T-Ring adapter (PTR-1250) you are using to attach the 2.5X Powermate to the camera?
Not sure but it wasn’t extra, it came with the powermate so it can be used for imaging :)
Dude. Sweet sunspot work.
Thanks for sharing view of that massive sunspot. Have you considered the Sky-watcher SolarQuest mount for tracking the sun with your Lunt 40? easy peasy setup.
Would be nice !
Hey I saw your vid and for a split second I was thinking can Dylan see the same sun spot from the Southern Hemisphere. 😂😂. I’m in the UK. We don’t often see the Sun.
Yeh it’s wall to wall rain here !
Still can’t believe you don’t have more subscribers 🤯 the algorithm doesn’t like you but they should
I still have more than I deserve but you’re all very cool which is nice when you’re a small channel .. and I can still reply to everyone :)
Hi Dylan, you saw some pics from Europe , the Aurora Borealis with a huge extension, can be seen from Italy !
It’s incredible !
Hey Dylan! If you would like to save more power, do not use the dc/ac inverter. You are losing at least 15% of the energy by the conversion process as you turn the DC power to AC then back again to DC. Skip it and get a few more hours out of your bank
That’s true! But that image session didn’t even use 1% and I started and ended at 87% so I’m choosing convenience over efficiency :)
Bloody ripper, man!
You call your camera Dylan. Mine is Bruce.
Hehe it’s the label the supplier put on it when it was an early release :)
"Worldwide" auroras? Can't say I've seen any in New Zealand!
Many have !
Well done Dylan. Love your work. I too hope one day your children will respect you.
Haha thx
How'd did u polar alignment? During the day?
I just point roughly to the celestial pole. I know my latitude adjustment is right so if I see the sun drifting I rotate the setup slightly in azimuth until it stops :)
Bro, are you good? This upload schedule is not normal.
Haha yeh I’m great :)
I was also pooping while i saw this video and i have to say i really enjoyed it. Just, it was too short
Haha yep, quick one just to get it out before the spot rotates out of view
Thanks for the shorter videos, my adhd has about a 4 min threshold
Got any pills? 💊
That's amazing
So the sun took a big shit and here on Earth it looks like magic pink unicorn-woo-woo-poo?
Exactly
Good job Dylan
awesome pic, am wondering about the noise in the solar flares tho, I plan on buying the Coronado PST and using a 2x barlow and my 294MC Pro, would I expect similar noise in the flares?
Just bad processing on my part to get a quick image out :) the Coronado was ok but the Lunt is wayyy better.
@@DylanODonnell sweet! We need a video on the different blocking filters ie: 500, 600 and 1200. This is what is catching me out trying to figure out which is more suitable also.
Awesome image (And speed to put that video out )…. Just now our day here in Switzerland finds its end and todays data is waiting to be processed. Seeing yours makes me think if I even want to go ahead 🤣
Just kidding. Hopefully I also got the big prom as it was quite dark for me.
Thanks! Was happy to post straight away .. managed to beat the Aurora here :)
@@DylanODonnell it was reported that also here in Switzerland aurora's were seen. Sadly never saw one myself. Might need to go north one day.
That Sun spot is ginormous! Hopefully we'll be treated to more of these monster 'spots in the coming months!
Dylan I actually said to you some time ago, I couldn't understand how your channel hasn't got 100k+ sub's! You replied saying something along the lines of "your content isn't to some peoples taste..."i.e. they didn't like your style of video? Well I say they must be really boring miserable sods then! LOL. Seriously though I don't want to sound like a sycophant but I love your content and think you're by far one the best astro-tuber's on the net! 🔥👍
Ahh thanks man :) please ask your friends to subscribe for me 😄 although I’d like more subscribers I’d be doing this anyway so I’m glad anyone, like you, enjoys it too. Thanks for saying so !
@@DylanODonnell Haha you want my friends to "prostitube" themselves now Dylan!? 🤣🤣🤣
haha seriousely man thanks for the awesome content! You/your channel is brilliant mate!🙃👌👍
Damn! That's killer! My images look like hot gar through the Lunt 40 and a dslr or mirrorless cam. I guess I needs me a different camera for the sun. I wonder if my SVboner SV205 will work for that. I'll have to try it out.
Yeh could be camera selection .. you definitely need mono for this.
@@DylanODonnell Thanks!
Great shot!!
I'm curious if you caught the aurora last night, here in Byron? I'm pretty upset with myself for not staying up all night to find a gap in the clouds last night. I have seen pics of the aurora from as far north as Townsville on FB!
Cruelly .. it started raining shortly after I took this sunspot shot and never ended until a few hours ago so unless we get a sudden spike tonight I’ve missed the whole thing. Sigh.
@@DylanODonnell Ahh bugga, same here. Waiting patiently but its not looking too great at the moment.
I was at a stoplight, it's overcast but just enough visibility for the sun to peak through, and through a dark tinted brow at the top of my windshield, my sunglasses, and the clouds, I was able to observe the large spot with my own eyes. Crazy stuff. No way I'd have attempted this if it were a sunny day...
That’s insane !
@@DylanODonnell Would have loved to have snapped a photo, but I didn't bring my camera with me today or the right lens.
Awesome !!
Apparently it's all kicking off with that Sunspot & Auroras there's been pictures of it as far south as France posted on social media so we're hoping to nab some Aurora shots soon when it gets darker here in the UK.
Yep.. the earth is lighting up tonight !
I've gotta say mate the light show didn't disappoint I hope you get to see it.
Very cool! I'm surprised you don't have three small dots marked on your deck so you know exactly where to place the tripod for a decent polar alignment in the daytime.
I do and Anna keeps cleaning them up 😅
@@DylanODonnell haha...sounds like my wife!
Awesome!! Got me some great eclipse photos, nothing but clouds here all week.😞 Otherwise I'd be trying to catch that.
Great image Dylan. I just imaged it myself this afternoon from here in the UK. Pretty awesome.
♥
Nice 😎
Awesome

Why you little ..
Awesome capture!

Thanks Dylan.
I am just going to say this in hope to get a heart.
❤️❤️❤️
Thank you for reminding me that I took a pick of that about 12 hours ago. Need to get one of those little scopes. Thank you for the jams!
Another video, keep it up Dylan, really enjoyed the pics of the sun. Nice to see you and the kids.
Fun video and helpful to us new solar folks.

Heh I surprised myself
