Hi Marc and Nick Thanks for the perfect upload and interesting commentaries. Today (minute 20:21) I learned that there is not a 1/21 chance (1-1 1-2 1-3 1-4 1-5 1-6, 2-2 2-3 2-4 2-5 2-6, 3-3 3-4 3-5 3-6, 4-4 4-5 4-6, 5-5 5-6, 6-6 = 21 different possibilities but a 1/18 (1/6 + 1/6 = 2/36 = 1/18) chance for any given roll. grats to Mochi
Great picture at youtube, with all informations on the screen in perfect quality. And professional commentary as well. First class presentation of the awesome match. Loving it.
All three of my Christmas presents of Michi's books have arrived!!! woo hoo! Back Checker Strategy, Opening Concepts and Endgame Technique. After studying them over the holidays, I will surely be a much better player!
Outstanding production, love it! What is the name of the book and author being talked about at around 17:30? I googled "The theory of backgammon" but haven't found the book that seems to be talked about. Loving the show guys!
It's the level of computer analysis (by the software "eXtremeGammon"). Two plus signs means "2-ply analysis" which is more accurate than 1-ply analysis as more calculations are done.
Can someone explain the "in a 7 point match in perfect play the most common score is 2-0" thing for me? I'm assuming they mean someone doubles and wins. Then because of the score the game gets doubled to 8 so either player wins the match? But then the most common would be 2-7 or 0-7 or whatever..
I don’t know ……all this computer analysis seems to have taken a lot of fun and conversation out of the game !! I used to enjoy a group around the board discussing the merits or negative views of a move or game situation over a glass of wine !!! No more !! Granted some players games have benefitted but more often than not those players who had great insight and instinct have started to doubt themselves and adjusted their thinking and play in a negative way !! Computer analysis is directly responsible !!
That’s all very true !! I came up in the game in the 70’s and 80’s in the San Francisco Bay Area when it seemed there were tournaments or private games every night of the week !! Unfortunately those days are gone !! It’s hard to over emphasize how great those days were for a BG player locally !! Keep up the great work at Galaxy !!
One day Mochy🇯🇵 after a match with Schwartz🇩🇪 went to a German pub🍻🇩🇪. There he ordered a prettel with ham and cheese 🍔 and a glass of ordinary water🚰. Suddenly, journalists came to the pub🍻📝, and began to ask Mochy🇯🇵 for an interview 🎙️for the newspaper 📰 🗞️ Mochy 🇯🇵 thought🤔 that they wouldn't lag behind him so easily and agreed👌 But on the condition that he would answer only 3 questions👍 Journalists 📝 asked the first question: "Mr. Mochy🇯🇵, who did you play backgammon with today? ✨🎲🎲✨ "With Schwartz🇩🇪," Mochy replied 🇯🇵. Journalists📝 asked the second question: "Mr. Mochy🇯🇵, what is your opinion of Schwartz 🇩🇪 as a player? ✨🎲🎲✨ "Professional backgammon player ✨🎲🎲✨, at least he calls himself that," Mochy replied🇯🇵. "And the last third question, Mr. Mochy🇯🇵," the journalists said 📝: "Why, being in the pub 🍻, don't you order German beer🇩🇪🍺?" "Because I don't drink German beer🍺, like, for example, a backgammon player ✨🎲🎲✨ Shiemann 🇩🇪, - here he is, an amateur!" replied Mochy🇯🇵, turned his back on the journalists📝 and started eating pretzel with ham and cheese 🍔. The next morning, all German newspapers📰🗞️ published an article on the front page with the headline: "Sensation! 📣Mochy🇯🇵 called Schwartz 🇩🇪 a professional✨🎲🎲✨, and Shiemann 🇩🇪 an amateur✨🎲🎲✨"🤔😁😄😂🤣🤫
Thanks to Marc and the rest of the team. Nobody works harder than Galaxy to make the game more popular. Looking forward to the rest of the series.
Thank you Chris. We do work hard!
The production looks fab.. Love the addition of the numbers notation.
Best backgammon coverage you'll see. Quality of narration, resolution, cameras and best of all, the players
I rediscovered backgammon. Well done Galaxy. I hope backgammon gets more popular too!

What do the red & green sets of bars with the + and ++ signs mean?
It's the level of computer analysis (by the software "eXtremeGammon"). Two plus signs means "2-ply analysis" which is more accurate than 1-ply analysis as more calculations are done.
@@BackgammonGalaxy Thanks a lot :)

Mochy the best 💪❤

I'm assuming they mean someone doubles and wins. Then because of the score the game gets doubled to 8 so either player wins the match? But then the most common would be 2-7 or 0-7 or whatever..
Nevermind, they mean after the first game. Which makes more sense
@54:39 Why is this such a big blunder?
Would like to donate. Can that only be done if watching live?
No the donation link is still open. :)
Hyped as well
Let's go Mochy
As a beginner why does he hit when he rolls 5,2?
Shout out to Hossein and Michy!
What does plus plus ++ mean?
What is back ground music before the stream start?
It's from a stock music site. It's not available on Spotify etc.
Hyped too
Mochy is a machine lol
I'm looking forward!! Smash that Like-Button! 👍👍

One does not exclude the other :) It's still possible to play chouette (for example) without analysis and talk about best plays in a fun way.
