The absolute best commentary and analysis there is. Thank you.
Thanks Marc and the gang for organizing this clash and for investing in the future of backgammon.
absolutely love the segment w michy at the end. great production value by not making it live. epic job!!!
Absolutely LOVE the analysis walk throughs at the end by Michy. Fantastic idea! Thank you
Another great match. Amazing to see these players play so accurately! Cannot wait to see the rest of the videos.
That 44 was brutal.
Loved the analysis of the 6-5 at the end. I find it fascinating that a 4-1 would make the anchor instead of pointing!
Also happy to hear about the "gentlemens' rules". Always finding ways to improve the format. Great job on this production!
I’m very excited for this!
The last section is the best. Thanks to Mr. Michi for his leesons
Did you get it? Did you like it? OKAY
I love backgammon...hi from Greece...
really slick coverage well done galaxy team
Love the Michi sections at the end!
Let’s get it on.!!!
Mochy the best
At the beginning of the video they say that the score is 2 - 0 for Mochy (at 3'53"). But only one match was played. Is it because Mochy won both the match and the PR, so it count as 1 + 1? - But the way, well done Galaxy guys! :)
Yes exactly! That's the UBC format. 1 point for match win. 1 point for PR win.
Even besides that we know it's a past - come on, Dirk, make it a rumble)
6:44 Love Nick Blasier, but I've noticed that he has a tendency to focus on this phenomenon too often. In most cases, it's not that big of a deal to make a point that is 6+ points away from another part of your offensive structure. In this case, the 3-pt isn't really a priming point anyway, because Black has a good chance of anchoring up next turn. If our interest is in priming, it will be an outside prime, and the 9-pt is very useful in that case.
28:45 clearing the 11
Is Dirk's T-Shirt promoting a new book?
Yes. Dirk's new book!
@@BackgammonGalaxy Ty, is it for sale generally and on Amazon?
Michi - but Dirk rolled 3-1 after Mochi run 20/9... why haven't you analized such roll... but assumed 4-1 instead??! 1:05:50
What are the "gentleman's rules" Marc is talking about with regards to PR at the end of the first 2 points?
I think it means that a player should resign if he (mathematically) cannot win anymore instead of playing on in order to improve his PR.
@@aaronw4537 but if one player has 100% and the other 0% then their moves will not affect PR
@@consumer61 Not necessarily. If it's possible for a player to blunder into a gammon or backgammon then they can benefit from an additional decision.
@@BenFriesen hmm I suppose so, thanks
@@BenFriesen They can even blunder by not bearing off correctly, losing a single game. For example, in the position when the comment came up, one side only had checkers on the deuce- and ace-point, meaning there could be a "decision" when an ace is rolled (2/1 instead of 1/off).
I am new to backgammon. How did Mochy get a "2" from the first match, when the score was 7-4?
In the format that these two are playing, you get one point for winning the match and one point for winning the PR battle. The PR battle determines who played better from a strictly theoretical point of view.
@@mackenzieusher8025 TY. I only follow Go and Chess, but Backgammon seems to be a very exciting game. I am go look into it deeper and maybe try online.
Last game, bad take and bad redouble
