- The Japan Open took place in Tokyo from May 3rd to 5th. It used a double elimination format, and I faced Ryo in the final. Ryo had two lives but lost to me right before this final match, making our match the deciding one for the 2024 championship.

A great match and wonderful to hear your insights and psychological strategies!
Whaou I haven't hear so rich and fundamental commentaries for a long time. It is a full free lesson from the great Mochy, anyone can learn a lot here. Just incredible! Thanks soooo much!
Thanks for commentating on the final in English. And congratulations.
Mahalo (Thank you) for your commentary during this play. You are such an excellent teacher by explaining your thought process!
What an interesting combination of games in this match. Many thanks for the commentary!
This was a great video because it demonstrated the ramifications of some bad plays. But mostly because Mochy can say why a play is correct or incorrect
Thank you Mochi for the commentaries, it was useful!
Thanks Mochy. I am trying to be a good coach to my girlfriend. As a PR 5 player, I think I do a pretty good job. But you coach us amateur coaches in a splenidid way. 💪
Very good to hear Mochy comment his own match, along with the computer analysis. Also, to see effective use of techniques beyond the computer analysis (reading body language, adjustments for relative skill, hesitation over play choice to influence opponent in a pass situation). Most are familiar with these concepts but it is very interesting to see where and how Mochy uses them in an actual tournament.
Thanks for doing this....will watch again!
Fabulous commentary!! !! !! Thank you so much Mochi - I learned a lot.
Commentary was also very good. Congratulations 🎉
Thank you Mochy, great to hear you commentating, please do it more!
Thank you for the commentary. Great analysis and so helpful.
49:30 hit for sure or hit four sure?😉 great game and commentary❤

Great video and insights. Love watching these!
Really great watching your game. I learn a lot!!!
Thank you for the educated video Mochi!
Gap on deuce doesn’t ‘ waste’ a 6.
5 can be played later on to fill the ace gap.
And a deuce is far worse than a 5.
So with the ace 3/2 looked clearly better than 6/5.
So few young players around today that when we finaly see someone younger than 28 we all assume that they must be teenagers :)
Thank you for a great commentary video.
I have watched some of your matches and have wondered what your thought processes are during the games. Now I have some idea. Please do more. Michy does a fair number of these matches where he talks during them. Thanks.
Thanks Mochy - this is a very educational video. Congratulations on your victory. I just hope your opponent doesn't feel too disheartened by his performance in this match. Hopefully he will take it as inspiration to improve and hold his nerve in a big match better next time.
Amazing video! Thank you Mochy!
Does anyone know the name/model of the backgammon set that they are playing?
I don't recall it but he says so at the start of the video.
@@mobiusklein9140 ty, it is p40, I heard it but was not sure
@@CristianNeicu27 :-) glad you found it.
Mochy can you tell me what clock you are using here?
Mochy, what do you write on your pad between games?
remaining clock time, to remind myself how many minute do I have. also time to time clock malfunctions so it is kind of back up
