Directions:
Step 1: Mince/crush garlic and salt by hand or with a food processor (salt to taste). If you crushed it by hand in a mortar, leave the mixture there. If you used a foo processor, place the mixture into a mixing bowl.
Step 2: Squeeze lime over the garlic and salt mixture. Just enough so that the lime juice covers the garlic.
Step 3: Add very hot oil to the mixture and stir. Usually, mojo is used over tostones or mariquitas so you would add the hot oil from frying those dishes into your bowl to complete the mojo. If you are not frying anything and want to make mojo to use on another dish, just heat up oil in a saucepan until it is very hot.
Step 4: Put the mojo on whatever food you want and ENJOY!
Instrucciones:
Thank you for sharing your Grandmother. She's teaching me what mine wasn't able to.
This mojo has got to be the bomb!!! Abuelita is cooking!!!
Sure is!! Give it a try and let me know how it goes!
This the “BEST ,“ MOJO RECIPE on RUclips hands down.
Thanks so much!
What a wonderful video!
We had Cuban cuisine from an authentic source and I was introduced to a garlic mojo sauce that was served with lechon asado. OHMYGOD, how have I managed 63 years on this planet without this magical elixir?
As an aside.... why does it take some of us (i.e. me) so many years to learn to truly appreciate our elders? We always think we know better... that *we're* up on all the latest everything, that they couldn't POSSIBLY be as sharp as we are, or possess valuable information. That's such malarkey!
❤💙🤍Thank you for this heart-warming and helpful video! ❤💙🤍
63 years later is better than never at all! And yes, our elders are a treasure ❤️ thanks for watching!
I love Cuban cuisine!
It loves you back! Let me know how the recipes turn out for you and remember to share with your friends :D
So Happy to see you and your abuelita again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Karla Garrido - that makes us happy as well! :D

Thank you for sharing the simple n delish recipe for mojito 👍🏼😋
EdeNYC thanks for watching! How did your mojo turn out?
La abuelita Cubana is a National Treasure lol I miss mine. Thank you for the video mi nina.
More coming soon :)
I love my elders 🖤🖤
They are precious ❤
As usual, so thankful for these videos. Time for Mojo! Thanks again.
Ellery Applewhite - enjoy!
Thank you for the channel. very helpful
I love to marinade steak and shrimp in Mojo
David Young - yes! That's a fabulous way to use mojo!
AMAZING 🤩
I was worried since many other recipes here include orange juice, thyme, oregano etc. I tried this first with my fried plantains and it's honestly one of the best condiments I'll keep in my recipe book forever. 😁 The others I assume would be best for a marinade, and oregano adds quite a nice kick to it, but nothing beats the simplicity of fresh garlic, salt, and lime pounded together. I've been risking the major garlic breath everyday lol
The garlic breath is well worth it lol!
welcome back ;)
Haha....Thank you!
Yum
Baya! Que lindo esta eso!
This recipe is perfect and it came out to perfect for us. We used your Tostone recipe and it was #DELICIOUS! Thank you Abuelita!
So glad to hear that Lindsay! It’s about lunchtime now and I’m craving some tostones myself! Have you tried making any other of our Cuban recipes?
So far I've only made the tostones and your grandmother's mojo sauce for a potluck at work...It was a huge hit!! Some of your videos are saved in my favorite recipes to try later, can't wait! I'll comment when I've made something #SamazingTravels :D
I’m excited to hear about your future dishes, Lindsay! :D
i did it without cooking the oil like some but i like how you add the hot oil not cook it. I did it fresh squeezed not hot oil and let it set for 3 hrs wow nice heat. I also save the lemon or lime to use to clean the copper pot bottom with salt it will make is shine up and nice. I like your recipe because no need to wait to marinate it for hrs and i dont like to cook the oil like the frican rican guy does as it is a PIA
gypsygirl731 glad you like the recipe!
After watching this video & hearing your Cuban accents, all I got to say is "Baya Asere'" ( sounding super american "pollo Perdue") as possible! lol
Haha. It’s a good phrase though!
she’s so cute 😂😩🥺😍
Great to see you still posting these videos. Are you still in LA or back in Miami? Any new travel plans for videos?
Hey mikepodella ! I'm back in Miami and I do have a plan on posting more travel videos. Cooking videos as well. Just editing some thing now when I have free time from work!
Yummy how much garlic did you used..
Irma Roman depends how much mojo you need, but surely about half a head of garlic.
Ask abuela what oil do we use canola....vegetable oil? I never know what to use lol love your videos and abuela and abuelo are my favorites!!!!!
luly305 honestly abuela uses probably whatever is on sale! Lol. I see her use canola a lot :)
SamazingTravels thanks girl!
Pero wait un minute, el mojo that I buy from the tienda has all kind of ingredients adentro. Estoy confused 😂 Enlighten please. Gracias.
Cubans make 2 types of mojo and usually we just say mojo for both lol. Mojo criollo is the one you buy at the store and that is used to season things like meat. It has sour orange, garlic, salt, pepper etc... The mojo from this video is used for dressing foods like tostones, mariquitas, yuca and the like!
could you make a cuban dish with seafood like a mariscada please!!
Nimsy Gallegos thanks for the suggestion! I'll add it to the to do list!
I did not know the microwave trick. I re all now seeing long ago by others a few times. I must not forget again. Hoe much lime if you don't want to buy a lime I'm ordering delivery ? I have little line juice plastic bottle. Is just me so i want to make leds tostones. I guess 2 plantains enough for a few left overs. Now i need empanadas for the left over picadillo. Lol I will need to heat up oil seperately. I hate to use oil plus the mess I have no room or space clean enough to do all that or the jars of sauce I keep oil in or last time i tried frying Goya frozen churros no good btw. Lol Oh well. I will try it best way I can with what I have.
If you’re making less, one line should do the trick! Use a little less of everything!
Dang bro she got limes with seeds
kassia limes have orange flesh like that, still limey tasting though.
Lisa maule good to know!
oye you left out most important ingredient
Juan Carlos Ottavianelli jr - the ingredient of love? Haha
