Thanks Wayne and Patti. Always great watching your videos, old ones and new ones. You mention in the video that you are running at a PH of 5.8 to 5.9. Do you feel this is the best PH for the growth you are getting? I run at a PH of about 6.3 - 6.5 and see good growth in my system. I do however notice that when the PH is lower I am seeing my leaves greener. What are you running your PPM? I try to be around 950 as I was seeing a lot of my lettuce burn when running higher in the prescribed 1100 PPM when mixing the nutrients as suggested. I have been cutting that in half and hit about 950. Do you find that the nutrient mix is too high when following the directions?

Thanks for all the help. How do you connect the 1/4inch tube to the PVC pipe. I can see the black connectors but would like know what they are. Do you have any problems with leaking? My Hydroponics garden is small just for our home use. I was thinking about using drip irrigation tubing and connectors but worry that the pump pressure will be too strong and blow the fittings apart. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

+bphogenson Wayne uses rubber Top hat grommets. This will solve your problems. You can get these proper grommet and hose through American Hydroponics!

What a wonderful video! Thank you!. I have a couple questions. How wet do you keep the seeds before they sprout? Then you transfer the sprouted seeds to the trays below. Is that so they can develop lots of roots before they go to the channels? Thank you! Look forward to hearing from you.

Hi guys, was wondering if you add Epsom salt to your fertilizer mix. I'm driving down to Ancaster tomorrow to pick up the 6-11-31 fertilizer and the 15.5-0-0 calcium nitrate. Also do you use the reg calcium nitrate or the mini prell. Woman on the phone said the mini diluted a little faster. Thought? Thanks!

Thats very helpful Wayne. You are an inspiration. One observation, I found in few of your earlier videos (first one to be precise) that the shape of butterhead was not as good as it is today. Please suggest what different you did to get this beautiful shape.
I have just started growing lettuce and I am struggling to get this shape.
Keep it up, you are doing amazing job by sharing your experience.

Thank you so much! We use Rex butterhead and our problem at the beginning was too much fertilizer. Now we have that figured out. Make sure your ec. Is 1.8 -2 in the winter and 1.2 in the summer. Hope this helps.

Excellent, thanks a lot Patti. I am based in India, I got beautiful shape of butterhead when grown organically in soil. Want to achieve the same in my NFT system. Will certainly follow your suggestion. Thanks again.

+Rev John O'Toole we can get down to about -35 degrees C. Here, and we heat with propane which hurts a little! Lol

Great video!!! So with the calcium or is it calcium nitrate the fertilizer strength goes up to 15.5-0-0 + 6-11-31 = 21.5-11-31? Also are you using a 2 inch pipe for the feeder lines? Great video!!! Wow 50 gallons a day wow. I can only guess how much it would be if you were planting in the ground :) Great setup!! I have been looking for a video like this on you set up :) Great video thank you so much for sharing!!! :)

how does your greenhouse holdup in a windstorm? We have fierce winds in Western NY at times.
