Great modern agri farm. I grew up in a farm in the Philippines and my father used to teach us modern agri farming. Too bad they signed me up in college not related to the one I see everyday. Now I tried to do ordinary garden in my backyard. This is great agri farming. We have wide ricefields before and I used to catch them catfish while picking up the young rice seeds. So much fun.

Liked and subscribed!! This is great content and I am very impressed with the setup. I am curious how the aquaponics lettuce seems to have less than the lettuce planted like in normal dirt. Either way this is awesome!!! Great work!! And with some fried fish, all that is missing is bread for some delicious fish sandwiches!!!! :)

they use only bamboo, meanwhile others spend $$$ to buy led lights, air pump, filter, medicines for fish etc.

1. How do you control fish and other marine animals diseases? This can be a massive risk in this setup.
2. What is the main added value of combined growing (veggie & fish)? Do you save on feed ?
I also saw the video with crawlfish and also curious about disease control methods you have.

You have to watch out some of these Asian RUclips videos build things as a one off just for the video. Then later it’s edited to look like it’s months later while actually it’s all in a few days. I’m not saying it’s these people just be be aware. When done they abandon the properties leaving a mess.
@@bpd8426 yes we have to watch out for such videos. But this catfish tank is 100% feasible, these are very hardy fish and could live in dirty ponds without any ventilation. as u can see in the video it could cross shallow water to look for food. i know these fish coz i used to fish and rear these fish when i was young.
@@spaideman7850 Yeah. Where I live there are huge catfish ponds, and crawfish ponds that double as rice fields.

Aye... the sight of fish and plant in the same pool looks wrong
so typically aquaponics is being combined with the ras system. you will put the plants where the amonia is being converted to nitrate for plant foods. the purpose of this system is to increase the profitability of every square inch of the property and also adds another filtration system to increase the quality of water therefore increasing the quality of the fish life.

Love the setup! :D just a heads up you seem to be missing a bit of biofilter for it though. Need more space for the bacteria to grow so they can transform the waste into nitrates
the ENTIRE sand+gravel bed is the actual biofilter. thats as gigantic a biofilter as one can ever hope for.
@@fish-108 I'm aware but the color of the water tells a story of needing a bit more.
Err, they are catfish and it isn't soilless. It'd be absolutely great to see a nitrate test to verify, though. From the perspective of keeping animals, I think this approach offers more enrichment.
@@alexismayalalancette5597 it might be high in nitrates. However, catfish are known to survive even the harshest water condition.

I didn't use insecticide and fertilizer but I used compost.

Pretty sure plants and fish should be separated in order to allow plants to fully clean the fish water, but I guess this is a budget system. I wonder how long they will survive.
You need to do more research on Khmer/ Cambodian rice farming agriculture fish and rice farming. It had been done for thousands of years to eliminated insect and pest. It's a win win situation.

it doesnt need to be separated.if you look at the whole content at the beginning of the video when the builds the upper bed they already builds a filter with layers of stone , sand and mud and that purifies the water enough to recycle water and enough to fish survival. yet fish waste infected water is rich in nitrate which is an essential property fro greeny leafs such as any kind of salad leafs and i guess we can grow much more varieties of vegies , this is a fantastic efficient and low cost system to follow if you ask me,
