It is a soldering iron used for electronics. It is easy to find in hardware stores and it is very cheap. (Be aware of venting out the toxic fumes when melting plastic)

Warning ⚠️ I get the styrofoam containers on my job for free so I thought it would be a great opportunity for me to start a garden. This is a huge waste as water is drawn out of the styrofoam so it's constantly. Would definitely not recommend trying this you'll waste a lot of time and resources

Huh, styrofoam makes me uncomfortable for some reason

Probably because it's toxic and leaches chemicals. Leaches especially badly if it gets warm which it would in the sun.Also awful for the environment.

Not to mention the porosity. You'd never be able to sterilize these coolers.
