    I have a 15 year old with autism . This man is 100% somewhere on the spectrum. Thank you for being polite to him. Not everyone is understanding of their certain quirks and conversational skills.

      This was my first thought too. Especially the avoiding eye contact, it's a dead give away. I think he did really well, haggling with a professional trading post owner isn't an easy feat even for a neurotypical person to do, let alone someone with extra difficulties on top. Good on him and good on the owner for being respectful and understanding.

    He wanted $70-100 for three and you offered him $50 for two. That was a solid deal. You offered him $10 for the one that sold for $12. Lol Couldn’t have made it any better. Honestly $70 for those three is a good price you could have made a quick $80-100 off of that probably.

    Funko screwed its collectors by creating one of the greatest brand fatigues of all time. They overproduced them into oblivion and we're all tired of looking at them. Their value has collapsed significantly over the last couple years as well.

      I collect pop's , but never spend more than $15 on any. And only collect what I personally like. But I also thought long ago it was a fad and would fizzle out. But it hasn't. Beanie babies basically were popular only for like 4 - 5 year's 97-2002 then overnight BB that were worth $1,000 were selling for $10 and that's if you were lucky. Meanwhile pops have been popular for over 10 year's. Will it last another 10 year's 🤷

      Not only "collectors" ... If I'm correct this is a pawn shop, so ....... just a souped up junk yard for stuff nobody wants but have been press ganged by "marketing" to believe it has an intrinsic value. NOT for nothing that where you find this stuff is on the ..... MARKET.

      You see brand new rubbish in shops being sold as "collectors" what ever that means.

      The reason he doesn't is because you have to play the long game. Yeah, those people are annoying but if he's respectful and nice and gives them a real number, they argue and then leave and what do they do if they can't find a buyer anywhere else? It's considered fair due to having immediate cash in hand and the expected risk of taking on inventory long-term. I agree that CH is MORE than fair most of the time, and the only times he is not is if something is worth WAY more than he expects.

    Back in the early 2000s there was alot of gimmicks like that flag book, my grandmother had golden stamps like that, and all the state quarters in a book like that .. it seems like the subscription model was what they were trying to push back then

      They're definitely the kind of thing that people will have to pay you to take off their hands later on. Collectibles are only as good as they are purely because people didn't have the idea to collect them, and years later they became a marketable item. Beanie babies were a thing because there was one specific rare model of a beanie baby that sold for a lot, and after that everyone got the idea to collect them, and any beanie baby after the collection fad started became worthless even years later, they aren't even worth the material they're made of.

      "What someone is willing to pay for it" is overused... Some people are unwilling to pay anything, even if it is very valuable in the marketplace.
      REALTORs also pull this crap. They act like if a property doesn't sell in the first week of their listing, it's not worth the asking price.

    Advice: dont clean antiques before buying.. leave it looking dirty and cheap, you can talk them down more. You start wiping it down and making it look nice, they'll start seeing your interest and move up on price

    Grew up during the beanie baby craze. Funkos seem like the same thing to me. Obviously, yes, certain pops have true value. But I know a few people that have giant collections of shit and think it's worth something.

    I got a Roku device back in the day from a yard sale for 1 dollar went home and it was signed in to there Netflix account and we had Netflix for free for like 2 years since no one reset it. Him resetting that TV brought back memories

    The funko pops would be worth more if there wasn't so many on the market.these were mass produced in huge numbers,so that hurts the value.people should realize that funko pops is not the best way to invest your money.that is unless you get them for pennies on the dollar.i bought 50 about a year for 150$,but I don't plan on getting rich off the deal.

      Nostalgia for the characters and or they just like them and usually retail price don't gotta pay alot so that's kinda why they are more like collectibles as they don't even move like action figures so wouldn't even be fun for kids to play with

    People never understand how pawns make money on this. It isn't your right to have them buy your stuff for YOUR price. I recently tried to sell a book I paid $60 for to a book store that offers fair prices and they offered me $15 because they said they could sell it for $30 based on recent comps. They are a business, not your personal collectible service.

    Considering charmander is only going for $12 on the official store and you can probably get it signed at any of the million conventions that seem to go on weekly, he should had just taken the offer. I think the amount he was offering was already too high. Once they become rare collector's items, then the price makes sense, but the seller had the advantage since Pete didn't know much about them to begin with. On ebay right now, signed, I only see around $35. They are not valuable right now. It's far too early.

    The Funko Pop guy made no sense.. he wanted $70-100 for all 3 you offered $50 for 2 and he could sell the other on EBay for $80 but turned it down so if he had taken the deal he would get $130 verses $70-100🤦🏻‍♀️ I get each to their own but he can’t expect you to not make money.. I think your offer was more than fair especially since the unsigned one was going for $10-12 and you gave him $10! Best of luck to him.
