- Check out Eric's 1983 Cutlass with a 75mm Turbo and a stock 5.3 LS making some passes at the track. He is also answering questions in the comments. YT Handle efoght.
I've seen this at the track a few times running some 9 second passes.
I went over and Eric took some time to tell me a bit about the car.
Hell yea! Cheap as dirt and moves like the wind. 👍🏻
Gotta love it. It moves too!
That's what makes me laugh at these Mustang freaks! You can build a nice LS GM car for $5~7 grand that will spank any new horse glue. Sorry Ford, you suck!!!!
@@DragRacingandCarStuff do you know what Trans he is running
@@durtysouthkustomz8862 TH-350.
What rear end wheee u running on those passes ?
Great build this guy is ah real American builder an race mad props sir
Wanting to throw a turbo 5.3 in my 87 aerocoupe. Badass car!
this is the real deal......love it.
That's sick AF! It's the duty not the beauty.
I never checked the comments. If anyone else has questions, reply here. I should get the notification
On a budget how much do you think I could swap a 5.3 into a g body for, considering I'm getting the motor for free, it might need a couple seals and gaskets
efoght What stall converter were you running? Maybe just type out a post on here with the full description of parts used.
Thanks in advance
@@JohnnyAnderson1 unknown swap meet converter. Stall was around 3600
@@efoght when you say this is a stock 200+K mile 5.3L does that mean you did not tear into the bottom end and gap the rings or ball hone the cylinders?
Stock. Pulled the heads off. Changed the cam. Headgaskets. And valve springs.
Thanks for the free knowledge, really appreciate it,even though there’s nothing free about free sandwich
It move so smooth
May have missed it in the video but what casting are the heads and are they really 100% stock with just a valve spring upgrade?
5.3 ftw. 6.0 is over hyped. Stock TH 350? That’s crazy.
Wonder if he still drinks Bud Light
Nice cutlass
The th350 apparently handles the power, unlike a 4l60e.
4l60e has to be the worst fuckn transmission
@@betosgarage if shifted at high RPM they dont last, there pretty good other than that
@@betosgarage They're not bad, kinda like the GM 10 bolts, some handle power and some blow out under no power. Explains GM quality control.
Just about every Chevy truck from the late 60s through early 80s had one. They are a tough transmission.
Beautiful cat
No ring gap what did you do to have it run right.. Injectors cam and what did you do for a tune
Soft timing until after peak torque. HP Tuners
I have almost the same combo. I run flipped headers also but I have 2 wastewater 1 one each header . Do you think I can still run those 02 sensors on the side like you even with the gates on the top
What stall? or did I miss that

Drag Racing and Car Stuff got it! Thanks
3400-3600
I have sooooooo many questions!!!!!! So I’m currently doing the same now! I have an 86 monte t top just did an ls swap on it. Came out of a 06 Silverado my guy dad had in the shop . I’m currently getting my th350 beefed up to handle it and don’t know what my rear end is honestly 🤷🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️ I’m new to this and wanted to have the most fun out of my project. Will my rear end be able to handle it? What all do I need to runs turbo system like that? Is it expensive or I can save some money for my pockets?
look up how to put a mustang 8.8 in a g body simple and pretty cheap.that 7.5 will snap if you dead hook with slicks
So get an 8.8 rear end and I should be good ?
I have a 7.5 in my 86 monte ls with after market 28 spline axles and posi. Spraying 150 on a 383. 138 60ft on slicks been doing it 3 years now. Redid the motor but rear still holding up.
-ZodiacZ- no slicks I’m putting it on 24’s
chevy boy do you have a website to where you got yours from?? Any pics of your monte by chance?
how hard was it too swap i was looking for parts 2 do this exact thing and came across this vid
The owner replied below (efoght). If you reply to his comment he should get a notification
Super easy. Just need motor mounts made for the swap. Everything else is pretty much plug and play. Any other questions let me know
efoght How wide is your 9inch, and are you running 15x10.5 wheels?
@@MJMango.Official I've never measured the width. 10" wide. 4.5" back space
This is great stuff
Nice! What's your fuel system set up injectors fuel pumps ?
Video was 2 Quantam 380LPH and Deka 80s
Did he happen to mention what rear gear he was running?
3.25 in the video. 3.70 now.
What brand turbo and what size turbo are you running?
No cam ? Just the head work ?
This is exactly why the 5.3 lc9 rpo code will be coming with me when the 250k mile chassis shes sitting in rots out. Shes sitting in a 2011 silverado z71. My engine comes with gen 4 rods, gen 4 intake, and the rarest of all flat top pistons with not so rare 799 heads. Ive got big plans for it. It'll be at i estimate 300 to 350k miles by then. But im not worried about that shell still pushe 800 with no issues as long as its not over revved. Decisions, decisions..😂
Your dreaming
Did you roll the fenders to fit the 275-60-15 and what turbo is that exactly ?
The owner replied below (efoght). If you reply to his comment he should get a notification
Rolled the lips in. No movement outward. 9" rear with 4.5" backspace on the wheels. No frame notch.
Turbo was a VS racing T4 bullet wheel S475.
@@efoght how much psi?
I was curious if that was an Amazon or an eBay wastegate that you was running on that car? By the way, the car is awesome. I'm doing my first turbo build and I just wondered if these eBay wastegates are worth using because I'm definitely on a budget. Bill running twin GT35s thanks for the help in advance.
Awesome 5.3L !
stock cam? n wat converter on it?
Francisco Huerta the owner (efoght) commented below. If you reply to him he should get notification
If I never answered it was a Elgin 1840P cam and a 3400rpm stall swap meet converter.
@@efoght Does the car have a trans brake?
@@polarischevy05 in the video it did not. It does now.
what trans and rear end?
Whats your wheel and tire size?
GM for life.
Wht injectors wht boost
How much boost
20psi in the video
Was it bone stock or rings regapped?
at 220k miles...they gapped they selfs
@Samuel Romero seen guys make big numbers w/o gapped rings.
Ted Cregger most of the time they do i pulled apart a 6.0 with 45 thousandths ring gap that had the shit beat out of it with a way to small 70mm turbo and ran lean as fuck for a year all most every piston in that poor motor was cracked and it was a gen 3
@@bryanmayes9234 how much boost were they running? I have a 5.3 in a S10, i don't have the rings gapped i am running a VS Racing SR475 turbo. I am planning on going 8- 10 psi. My motor, has 165km's miles.
They were gapped .030 on the one cylinder I checked. Put it back in.
"You got any good stories about this car" Its a piece of shit! 😂😂😂
It will smoke your Z28 any day every day.😆
Trans brake or foot brake?
That was foot braking a TH350.
@@efoght what rpm are you foot braking to?
@@infamousnova 3200

Quick Performance G body bolt in. 15x10 wheels.

Sloppy Stage 2 aka Elgin 1840p
Nice cutlass, looks identical to my 87 minus the front end. What size tire and rims you running, also backspacing? Car looks good man. Im building an all forged 370 (summit pro ls bottom end) with an s480 bullseye borg warner 80mm billet 96/88 1.32 a/r. Should run similar to yours. My first turbo setup so im ecstatic. Also just ordered a quick performance fabricated 9" for it. 35 spline axles, internal/external bracing. Should be pretty solid. Im hoping the fiberglass bolt on hood fits ok without too much work. I shoulda just forked out the money for a harwood or glasstec instead of trying to find the cheapest hood i could lol. Will be looking forward to more videos of the car man. Last question is what kinda fuel system are you running?
15x10 with 4.5" bs
@@efoght damn 15x10? That fits in the wheel wells? Is it frame notched? And is it a gm rear end 7.5/8.5? Sorry for all the questions I'm about to order rim's ans tires and I like the way yours sit on your cutlass.
@@ls87gbody no notch
What's 1/4 mile time?

It’s a pice of shit😆🤣😆 love it great motivation bro seriously
I call it the Failboat for a reason lol
Built not bought in a dealer like all the cocky boys and girls on Instagram that don’t know Jack of engines
What a great build, are you running the stock computer or aftermarket?

Car
Is this the motor the car came stock with..... really.....an 83 Cutlass.... didn't have LS Motors in 83....
Do you are have stupid
The Electric Wrench He took the motor out of an early 2000’s Chevy truck. That’s why it is called Ls swap because he swapped the motor.
Yeahhhhh. LS swapped right in the title
@@alibobobaba1337 I'm aware of that obviously
I misinterpreted the title it says stock LS meaning a stock LS not as in came stock in the Cutlass.. lol... must have been really late or I was really tired one
9.68 with no cage in 1/4 would get you kickt
How much does it weigh?
