I thought the chests looked odd myself but honestly I’m just glad we don’t have swappable armor plates. The spinning chest feature was one of my favorite gimmicks in the original line.

The small window for the battle damage is even more weird when you consider the artwork uses the full size window as it appeared on the retro figures. Even on the figure art in the cross sell on the back.
Just as you mentioned with 2 points of reference in artwork they have released several cases of battle armor properly sized for wwe universe but wanted to make whole new sculpt and tooling for smaller window doesnt seem to cost effective

Hoping when Origins versions of Thunder Punch He-Man and Flying Fists He-Man will release Mattel also add the vintage head, too.
Never liked having to buy the same figures for something you can pretend like “battle damage “ but the accessories are the real draw. Mattel is killing the retro game!
I remember finding a battle armor he-man from the original line back when it was new on the toy isle of a Roses store:(this shows how long ago this was), someone obviously took it out of the package and left it on the shelf, and I don’t know who did it though, and this was the only time I saw one of the original version of this toy back when it was new; I thought I’d share that with everyone, but that’s my two cents, and happy new year to you and yours dan🎊🎉.!

I surmise that they used the standard Origins arms with the plug on the arm. Recall on the vintage line the arm plug onto a shoulder knob on the torso. Replacing the "outie" with an "innie" takes up interior space, necessitating the smaller drum. I would theorize the arms aren't removable due to the drum, either to prevent access or damage to the mechanism, or perhaps the arm pegs support the drum.
Good question! I do, I actually make an incision on the packaging on the side, then I take out everything except the comic, I keep all of them in a box.
Alternate head will go on the original He-man and the Prince Adad head will go on this He-man. And the grinning Skeletor will go on my original Skeletor.
What made me reluctant to get these guys is how common they are at both Target and Wal-Mart. I never thought I'd see the day when He-Man and Skeletor would ride the pegs... with a clone army! (Meanwhile, anyone who isn't He-Man or Skeletor, or Battle Cat, goes fast!)

as a kid who likes motu and didnt grow up in the 80s, its nice that these origin figures exist because its been so hard to collect the og motu action figures cause they cost so much. finally, affordable motu action figures to collect!!!!!!!1 i have mer man so far
I still prefer the old figures and the way they look and maybe it has to do with the way the old logo looks, it's wider and the old figures armor finish is much better too.
This line is super-freaking cool. My Battle Armor figures arrive in two days' time! I cannot wait to swap out those heads with my existing Origins figures! (The original Origins Skeletor has that fun open jaw, but his red eyes are just too big for my taste.) Thanks for another excellent video!
Even without the removable arms they are still ball joints unlike the old school ones, so the joint still goes into the body which I am sure takes up space inside.
Just so much more juice in the originals. It's the quick CAD based sculpting and the quality of plastic. The core aesthetics of this line should continue to improve 🙌
I just got my Battle Armor He-man from Amazon and it has the regular boots. It was a return as it was taped, maybe someone switched the boots on mine. Maybe same happened to you.
So prior to getting Battle armor He Man I got the Revelations action figure aswell. I swapped the head on both and it's amazing how it works. The proportions on the revelations figure were off and weird, but the swap actually seemed to fix that lol I recommend giving it a try, Looking to do the same with Skeletor, stand by ;)
The chest is probably like that for the rotation mechanism to work alongside the arm pins. Also, I’ve always prefered this He-man design to his og design tbh 😅

Mine arrived today and just brown and yellow at the top same as standard. A Google search shows it to be about 50/50! So, collectors, keep an eye out for this!! I'll just paint them on but still, useless information for those that care :)
Real question I have a battle damage skelator should I take it out of it's package???
as a kid who likes motu and didnt grow up in the 80s, its nice that these origin figures exist because its been so hard to collect the og motu action figures cause they cost so much. finally, affordable motu action figures to collect!!!!!!!1 i have mer man so far
Awesome video. As soon as I see these in the stores I definitely want to pick them up. I really love these new MOTU figures.
I got the original when I was a kid . These were my favorite
I like the comparisons with the original action figures and the MOTU Classics action figures.
My battle armour Skeletor head doesn't have a big smirk. The mouth is quite straight on mine. I love that head sculpt.
The back cards look sick. Along with the figures of course.
7:56 - 8:47 100% with Dan 👍
The new figures don't have the metallic finish that the old ones do, so that is another difference.
The Vintage head looks 100% better than the updated origins version IMO. I'm glad that they released this with optional head sculpts 😎👍 great video
8:44: I 100% agree! 😉👏🏻🏆
Can't wait to get both versions of Heman and Skeletor!
I bought this figure just for the head, so I'll use it in the normal He-Man
Good idea. I think I may do the same.
@@hans4462 Go ahead, it's better than buying the new he-man with that head.
Like the Skeletor heads better than the first Skeletor figure. Also cool how Skeletor comes with a shield.
Hi there, my international he man battle armor have just the regular brown boots... No orange on them... Is it the same for all recent figures?
I just got my Battle Armor He-man from Amazon and it has the regular boots. It was a return as it was taped, maybe someone switched the boots on mine. Maybe same happened to you.
So prior to getting Battle armor He Man I got the Revelations action figure aswell. I swapped the head on both and it's amazing how it works. The proportions on the revelations figure were off and weird, but the swap actually seemed to fix that lol I recommend giving it a try, Looking to do the same with Skeletor, stand by ;)
Huh. Would’ve loved to see those extra retro He-Man and Skeletor heads on the Revelation figs too.
Battle Armor Skeletor is definitley my favourite Skeletor variant
The chest is probably like that for the rotation mechanism to work alongside the arm pins. Also, I’ve always prefered this He-man design to his og design tbh 😅
Mattel just keeps knocking it outta the park. Putting the retro head in there what an awesome idea and definitely thinking about the fans. Also 19.99$ that’s awesome. I love em and so do my kids. I just got mine at target this morning along with the merman wave. They look amazing. Thanks Mattel. Keep putting these out and I’ll keep buying Em.
Yeah good luck finding them
